....but if this new rule about only one player bieng allowed to sign from one team to another in the elite league is true .... What the hell.... where have you heard that crock of .... from? That was one of their proposed rule changes a while back, when they were on about having an enforced wage cap (hahaha), don't know if they took it on board or not.

This is what I was led to believe over the weekend:-
Mike Ellis to negotiate a new contract with Neil Black on Tuesday. He does want to return but under different financial terms
Sean McAslan to go back home, where his wife has been offered work and good salary, probably too good to turn down
Tom Askey not returning, as pay demands are way too high and will not lower demands
all the best

Pelts has already been tapped up by the Blaze as he is good friends with Cloots. He will not make a decision until Ellie has been sorted. No Ellie quite a few players are walking. As for Askey, he wants to return also the onl stumbling block will be wages as he wants an increase and has been told there is no extra cash. Can't see Macca coming back although he has said it depends whats happening to Ellie

well i can tell you that when my dad and kid bro went out for a meal with bergin and kev said that he wouldnt play for any other team in the uk They all say it, as if they will say any different to fans of the club they play for. Tbh it all depends on the ellis situation first.

A rumour I heard was that Dawn would manage not to spill a drink all over herself on at least one of the two days, unfortunately for her it was about as accurate as the Domi to Panthers thread a few months back ;D

Pelts in the chippy the other day, when asked would he come back to Nottingham. "We will have to wait and see who the coach is, they might not want me back". Those were his words to a question from a fan, stood next to me in the queue. If she is reading this please confirm. Now I know that can mean a lot of things, but his whole attitude was one of, I don't really care.
Is it true that the players wages were just stopped dead after the last game. And also that several players, including Pelts had their sponsorship cars taken, and accommodation withdrawn immediately. If so I can understand his attitude. Having said that Bergin was quite upbeat, even having a laugh and a joke with customers, at his feeble attempt at making a butty. Do not give up the day job Kevin. And if this happens every year and everyone knows it, forgive me as it was my first full season.

I personally cant see any reason why we should continue to pay them and provide them with benefits once the season is over, unless it is built into their contracts. The only people who may still receive money are ones who may get "retainers", as money paid to players outside the season does not count towards the wage cap.

Wages maybe because you are no longer working once your season ends but accomodation and perks no way. You cant just finish your game of hockey in cardiff on the sunday, travel back on the bus, pack and be gone for the morning. Sean was here with his mrs well into the summer as she had the kid. Most will be leaving now though

I agree with Rich, Wages are effectively stopped at the end of the season and players are paid bonus's if they are required to play in the playoffs.
It depends on the deal for them and the wife. IF Panthers have secured a contract for the wife which doesn't finish for 3/4 weeks then the accommodation deal is the same (Panthers wouldn't want to burn bridges with business partners for future wives etc). Most of the players will return home this week (Unless the above has occurred)
