Club teasing another signing on X….. what do we think? Logan? Logan or Tetlow because if any more imports had signed before leaving like Otto then I reckon they’d have announced by now

Given Panthers are hinting at something on x/twitter- probably a signing announcement I'll leave this here.
Probably complete coincidence.

I reckon it’s going to Logan.
Would like som quality defence in though - we weren’t great at the back. The better sides build from the back first.

I don't remember much about Murphy even though we seemed to play Manchester a billion times. Has got good numbers and a tidy looking resume.
Garcia though, was very impressed with him.

Clements rumours still doing the rounds. We could still see us have that spare Brit outskater. I'd still rather have had Hazeldine back, but this would really strengthen our Brit pack.

If you're talking about David his contract with Blaze runs until the end of the 24/25 season doesn't it? His extension signed last year was for two years.

If Panthers want him a deal will be done im sure.

PR perhaps has a bit more practical hockey coaching experience than any of us on here, no? I strongly suspect he probably knows what he's on about, and what he wants.

He's better in his own end, better at reading the play, a better skater, has a better shot, and can take care of himself. I do rate Tetlow (probably more than a lot on here), his whole hearted approach, his willingness to learn and that he was willing to go out of his comfort zone to Finland to get experience, Josh is improving and may still in the future, but I'm surprised that Josh is in the team if Clements is available. Just my opinion.

As for why, whether he wasn't available or PR wanted to go a different way I don't know

Maybe it's as simple as Tetlow is a lefty and Clements shoots right.

Just my opinion. Apologies. I could've worded it more clearly. My point is mostly that "better" is a very subjective word in this context. Is Tetlow "better" than Clements, as D man for the GB hockey team? We could argue all day, which makes it pointless. I'm not sure it's "a given", but your opinion is clearly that. Pete Russell's is different, unless Clements has taken his name out of the hat for some reason we don't know. What would be interesting is some detailed stats to try and show the opinions above in a more objective light. In terms of +/-, Tetlow was even on the season (corrected -2, 54 game projection -5), Clements -8, on teams with similar goal conceded. Panthers conceded more at even strength (154 vs 150). Some measure of relative shots or chances per 60 might be instructive? Interesting their average TOI last season was 1 second different.

Interestingly after icing in the last three games at the WC with a combined scoreline of 15-3, only Tets and O'Connor come close to even with a -1 rating so far. So clearly PR rates him defensively or thinks he brings something important to the team; Ruopp and Jones making way for Tets in the past three games. Based on stats from IIHF website at time of writing, post game

Probably zero chance of us being in on this player but Nathanael Halbert, alright season in the ICEHL, Nottingham born and did two years in Cov under DS

I think for GB Josh is asked only to do the simple things, look after what's happening in his d zone, get the puck out, and tie up oncoming attackers. For Panthers he's asked (or tries) to support the forwards more. This exposes his weakness, skating. But he's improving and hopefully he's learning more being in these high pressure situations

With the ST renewal deadline the middle of next week I would expect a couple of signings announcements this week, let's hope so anyway 👍
