Yes, let's hope those rumours are wrong. The final 3 imports have been signed for some time, infact were signed well before the two import netminders. It is interesting to note though that some say we need a right wing (Logan Neilson can apparently both wings). Penner is listed as a RW/C. Penner also played on the same team as Adam Berg last season, scoring almost exactly the same amount of points. Albeit Penner played 22 games more than Berg during the regular season, so there is a connection or at least a coincidence there. Personally I think we need a higher quality of pkayer for our final import forward slot. Time will tell if we get it. Playing devils advocate, everyone on here was happy with the signing of Davis Bunz, myself included. Julian Wells career certainly since college is pretty much identical (Wells had a better PPG,in NCAA, Albeit still very low) than Bunz did. The only difference between the two now is Bunz has seemingly turned into an offensive d man. Whereas Wells seems on paper at least to have remained a defensive defenceman. Maybe Wells is good at that role and hasn't been allowed or wanted to change. I guess what I'm saying is why wouldn't people be happy if Wells signed when they are happy with Bunz? Ideally I'd prefer a player with more experience, and having played in better leagues but as stated Wells is a defensive d man and that is something we need. Tboughts? With you on Wells all the way. Has more than a whiff of Beckett about him, but perhaps without the high PIMs bit. You can never tell re "mid-tier" forwards until they get here, their roles may have been restricted in NA, and they could blossom over here. Or the opposite, let's be honest. Spencer Naas, for example. Middling, sub-0.5 PPG type ECHL stats. A bit meh, you might say. Last season's league-leading goal scorer. And none of these are even confirmed yet, so at present it's all a bit moo. Don’t get the comparison with Beckett at all. Beckett had far more experience in good leagues, seems to be a more physical player and was a big body. Whereas Wells is 6’4” but only 201lb which is significantly lighter than Sam Herr even though he’s 3 inches taller which would suggest he’s tall but thin

I think if I had to be honest, if these were the last three signings I would be ;
Wells - pleased Penner - indifferent Berry - disappointed
But anything can happen on the ice... and until they are announced, off it. Would love the final signing to be a marquee 'Stud' and I don't think these guys on paper fulfil that level of excitement.
*cut to Panthers award night at the end of the season and Berry picking up best D and Penner most points awards.

Seems unlikely. I can’t see how a Scandinavian player playing his career in the SHL and now considering retirement due to multiple concussions would see the EIHL as a good opportunity

The only incentive I can think of for a player like him is the ability to receive education and earn a good wage at the same time whilst continuing to play. I just thought I’d share the rumour that I’d heard. Hopefully we get some signings this week

For the player a real risk of another head injury that might not just end his career but potentially life altering consequences and for the club losing a player whose threshold for a big impact would be really low. It wouldn’t even need to be head check that could put him out. Anything that could cause a whiplash effect may affect him much more than it would any other player

Indeed. This sounds like a big punt if true, from both sides, and the articles seem to suggest he's already thought it through and it would thus be a huge about turn. And a big upheaval in his life, after a dozen seasons in Sweden.
As I've said before, I've been impressed how tight the club has been regarding signings this year.
Theisen would be a very nice addition at this stage. Similar to Balmas, CV wise (if not a fair bit better), and he was pretty good. Sadly, that therefore makes me think this is unlikely.

I’m presuming the panthers pre season camp will be starting two weeks today, so I’d expect maybe all 3 signings I’ve said to be announced this week?

Always starts the Monday before the 1st pre season game and players start arriving from the Monday before that so yes if we’ve completed our roster and they’re going to be here for training camp then we’ll have to announce this week, I seem to remember under GG we completed the roster with a triple announcement

Signing news at 6pm. Three pivotal spots remaining in my opinion, let’s see if any of these rumours are true
