And like we all know, little will change until NB goes. GM, GD, OP, all come and go but the consistent is NB And I have to be honest when he said it it made perfect financial sense to me. And, on the flip side, when we were in contention we have brought in big players (Ling) and carried spares. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the team bought. Especially by the type of organisation Giants have but within the limits of his business view, not bringing in lots of extra players this year makes sense. Not least because I can't see anyone wanting to cut a player that was here that day in October That last point is another reason why there is big asterisk that belongs should be applied to this season. I’m under no illusion that this has been a bad season but things would have been so much different had the tragedy never happened and why I’d take this team over last years bunch all day long. Firstly just think about the impact alone AJ would’ve had for the whole season. Roy and Nieminen currently sit 12th and 17th in scoring respectively this season having sharing the top line with Farley, Luciani, Neilson and Henbrant over the course of the season. Had we had AJ on that line for the full season then I’m confident that that would’ve been the most deadly line in the league and all 3 would be in the top 10 league scorers. Add to that the emotional trauma that caused and was obvious to see and had a profound affect on performances and confidence for the next couple of months. The knock on effect of that also was as you say that all players that decided to stay made themselves undroppable for the loyalty they showed in difficult circumstances which I entirely agree with. It would be in very bad taste to release any of them but that may consequently contribute to our downfall. Had all been normal would the likes of Anderson and Welsh still be here and not been upgraded? All those things taken into the equation I believe we’d have ended up around 4th as it’s not that big a points swing over that time had the AJ tragedy never happened and things would’ve been vastly different

Only two major point scorers in the league are yet to record a single penalty as well. And Roy is one of them. Losing AJ (ad I've said before) affected point production on all the lines, and not just because of the trauma, but because you cannot bring in a replacement of that quality at that point of the season on the two year uni deal he was on. I think we'd have been 3rd or thereabouts with him and maybe a tweak later in the season. Maybe a run in the playoffs was on the cards, then build on that the second year of his deal

We would be debating who we would be debating who we want in The Play-Offs if the unthinkable never happened

Straw poll: have I missed something or is a poster posting about the number of times they've been banned from the form for their behaviour, and saying they've had to be banned again recently, the best way to prove they're just here as a hockey fan? I think I've entered the Twilight Zone Sorry guys there's much to be said about the game, the schedule, reinforcements etc but I'm out. Have a good one people. Now to be an honorary Flames fan for the next 24hrs! Hoping for a Flames shut out and statement win 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 I was responding to your post which suggested some people (presumably me being one of them) can do what they like without consequences and have connections. It was a fair response in my opinion.

Simms will whip all the locals up in a frenzy and they'll be too hot for the flames ..

That does seem the most likely outcome. Flames don’t have a bad record in the shed of tin, to be fair, and it’s a one off game. Who knows, but you’d be a brave man to have a fiver on the Flames.

You’d hope so.

Didn’t realise Mcadam is apparently done for the season? Burman in goal will need to have a better game than he had at ours the other week. He was a hot goalie last year, so you never know.

It's the elite league.. I doubt it.. used to be Darren bavister for finals . It should be but any way to get the Sheffield the 'edge'
