Apologies, posted before seeing your post. Would be interesting to see if they're tested before as well. Like you mention, *if* Steelers are only testing after a game that is protecting their game squad strength and not protecting their opponents. But they may well be treated twice on game days? I'll let you off this time. I'll probably move it to a different thread though. With regards to testing, it might be that they test before as well. To me though, testing afterwards seems pointless. Unless you're extremely cynical and would rather find out you can't play afterwards rather than before a game. Absolutely. Please feel free to move it. Sorry, think you must have been posting whilst I was in reply box mode. Do you thing there's a chance teams might be testing prior to getting on the coach/plane home due to Omicron being earlier transmissible/detectable in case someone spreads it? I'd assumed they might test after games due to the close quarters physical contact with the opponents? It would be extremely cynical to *only* test after games on game day and not sure it would go down well with players. Surely, as a player, you'd want to know on arrival for a game that you're not about to warm up with a teammate that's contracted it since the last training session? Which is what made me wonder if they maybe tested twice on game days? It would surely be the only way to protect the team as coming together to play and playing your opponent are two separate close quarters exposure risks? But maybe if they no they're limited to testing once a day they opt for after the game and trust their team to have stayed safe since the previous test? Something they might trust their own players now to do than their opponents? But I'm just spitting in the dark here and hoping to hit the light switch by chance 😂

A lot of pressure on this game now, a big performance is required. I think we'll win. I'm not basing that on any confidence in the team, just on how these double header games often seem to go.

A lot of pressure on this game now, a big performance is required. Not a chance we will win. We just aren’t good enough. NB needs to get the money out but we know he won’t NB won't even know the results of the Christmas games until some time next week if someone mentions them to him

I thought they may have beoufg in tougher restrictions but I'm no sure they will now. The have to announce something this week if they do . I'm just glad England don't have clowns like those two in Scotland and Wales 🤦 Re Clowns as in Scotland and England. They do have lower cover rates, but have acted quickly. " hospital doctors (have said) that it would be “ludicrous” not to tighten restrictions in England in response to the rise of the Omicron variant of coronavirus." Some have said that it already too late. I dont think labelling other countries as clowns is very helpful, as we could easily be in the same position in the very near future.

Fining people for going to work in Wales? Krankie in Scotland is just power crazy. What restrictions can they do which won't impact people's daily lives?

The suggestion is introducing restrictions with regard to the number of people mixing in social settings and similar measures. Anything introduced will have some affect on peoples daily lives. The growth in omicron cases is exponential which means that it is climbing rapidly, which could well lead to the NHS quickly having problems coping. The suggestion that an ice hockey match is more of a priority is interesting.

Having just read the news re GM, I don't much feel like posting much, but here we go.
Steelers have 15 of 16 points on the road this year. 7 straight wins and an OTL last time in Cardiff. Combined goalie save %s of 95.11% in those 8 games. (96.24 in the first 7.) 10 goals against in the first 7 games combined. They'll be a tough nut to crack.

For a 'sell out' there's more than a few empty seats around the arena. I can only assume its people who have chosen not to attend for whatever the reason. Best of luck boys....
I don't though understand why we release two players knowing it leaves us short handed especially going into such a busy run of games, unless the players themselves wanted to go

Strange that there is no mention from Panthers. Could just be that they rightly are more concerned with the news of GM. Otherwise perhaps hes upset Tim, maybe the reported antics at the end of the 1st caused a stir. If it were injury or covid youd have expected a word from the club.

Well either team could have scored at least 3. Steelers getting breakaway android man rush chances, Panther getting it on the doorstep, but unable to push it over the line. Both teams will be disappointed not to score.
Now let's have a big 2nd and win it for GM the GM!

We are rudderless and I think Wallace and Gromit are going to end up carrying the van for this. Playing out of our skins at the moment but getting bulldozed everywhere.

Only 11 imports against 10 today. The quality of the game keeps dropping and dropping.

Another Matherson offensive zone turnover causes a break away goal.

Yet again, we fail to take our chances and eventually the Steelers couldn't miss.

Take my advice accept the statement and don't go all defensive! For the amount of money this organisation makes to be clearly out of the champ race at this time of the year is nothing short of a disgrace!

At least Richards prevented a shutout.
All appears to be a bit of a shambles at the moment. I see Blacky was there to see it at least.

Good summary. A sub optimal couple of games.
