That would make sense. Accumulate space which can be used later. It would have been nice of the league posted some information about the setup of IR before the season started, but I suppose that’s asking too much😂 Well that’s it and where they’ve gone wrong again as usual, giving fans half a story and fuelling natural speculation as to just what the point of IR is or what the teams are up to. Don’t forget changes can’t even be made after the signing deadline either so what happens after that date. Have they even thought that far ahead ? Exactly if they actually set things out before the season started there woildn be wild speculation.. once again they deserve all they get!

Thanks for confirming. We’re all speculating, although I wouldn’t call it especially wildly. But this is the sort of thing that the EIHL always creates for itself. I reckon you can be pretty sure though that this IR lark is solely to the benefit of the clubs themselves and money rather than anything to do with players or fans.

When has black ever done anything which benefits the fans 🤣🤦

Meanwhile in team news, Wallace said in his interview yesterday about needing to "get some bodies in" (1.15 in) and it definitely sounds like he means more IR cover or another permanently to me.
Also Ollie will be taking Domingue's place on the first line as well as continuing on the PP.
Interesting to hear him talk about Ollie and Tetlow and wanting to coach them out of the league - ie to a point where they're too good for the EIHL.

Attendance looks fine for a game against Dundee.
Unfortunately the team doesn't, poor first period sees then trail 1-0. Dundee haven't played particularly well, but have looked slightly more dangerous.

Two really good looks in that period, the Boivin breakaway and the 2 on 1 which was squandered. Dundee with a nice goal 4 on 4 after we over committed.

Not sure how we came out of that ahead. First 8 minutes were very poor. Stars looked like they were on a powerplay for most of that time. Then, panthers draw a penalty and get a PPG with a few seconds left. Tousignant in the dirty areas bobbles one in.
Stars answer back quickly after a puck bubbles of the side netting catching Panthers unawares, while then flail around as Dundee finish.
Panthers then pull it straight back with a 3 on 1 breakaway. Morrison saves Baillargeon's shot 5 hole, but Boivin picks his pocket as it lays on the ice just behind the net minder.
Then on another 4 on 4, Ollie scores a beautiful goal. Collects the puck from a Myers faceoff and skates all around the Stars zone before driving the net and sniping it over Morrisons shoulder.

Panthers outshot 13-12 in the first and 15-12 in the second.

Any thoughts on the new guy? Not made too many mistakes. A few misplaced passes, but nothing egregious. Nothing has jumped out as good or bad, but I don't mind that in my D-men, especially when they are new to the systems and team. Based on his stats I expect him to pick up a decent number of points, but not seen much offense from him thus far.

Any thoughts on the new guy? He made an outstanding play to stop a Stare 3 on 1, not much good or bad to speak of really.

Boivin and Matherson break in after a prolonged board battle to win it, lovey finish across Morrison into the corner.
Panthers probably just about good enough value for the extra point. Still some concerns on offence for me, I like Kelsall’s effort and commitment but he’s just a bit too small at the moment to really start making an impact and retaining the puck in deep so I guess that will come with time.
I’m really concerned about Suoranta, slow with his mind and his skates and just generally looks a bit off it to be honest.

Two things.
Firstly, i'm really suprised Dundee have struggled so much to gain league points. They look a half decent side.
Secondly, im exstatic we've got 4 points from 4 against them at home so far. Real tough games.
All about match ups this season it appears.

Dundee made it tough last time in the NIC and they did the same again tonight, they deserved a point and I’m glad we came out with the win, the players looked really pleased after we’d won it.
Nice to see Boivin get his first goals on home ice in front of the fans, he should have about 10 though with the number of breakaway chances he’s had! He really is a top player though.
Thow did well, bigger body than I expected and he looks after the puck quite well, good pickup from Doucet.
Tim’s really got to look to get more out of Suoranta, Lane and Baillargeon, as a line they really don’t click, in transition they aren’t crisp, passes into feet all the time. When they’re in the zone they don’t work many chances off the cycle either. I think it would be a good idea to try some different line combos tomorrow to try and get more out of those three specifically.
Tousignant was on form today, constantly on top of the goalie and trying to wind people up in front of the net, a real pest. Another goal from the dirty areas as well.
Finally, Betteridge’s goal, WOW. He’s turned into a real leader for us.

All about match ups this season it appears. Very much so I think. There are some rollercoaster moments ahead judging by the run of play in the this year so far. On any night it feels like it could be any team's night. Great for the neutral. But more stressful for the rest of us. And Ollie. Need I say more. Stepped up big time so far.
