www.panthers.co.uk/home/211027-new-measuresStarting next month, you will be required to either produce a negative test result or proof of vaccination for Panthers games. This seems to be in line with other events at the Arena. Seems a sensible decision to me. It's very easy to do a LFT if you don't/can't have a vaccine. Plus it makes the arena safer for everyone. FULL TEXT: "As from November the Covid safety measures of the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham will be extended to include all Panthers' home games. These protocols are in line with all other major Arenas across England and are being put in place in order to prioritise the health and wellbeing of our fans. This Friday’s match with Belfast will be a ‘warm-up’ for the new policy which will be enforced from the Bonfire Weekend games against Dundee and Manchester on November 6th and 7th. Spectators aged 18 and over will need to be: fully vaccinated (at least 14 days prior to the game) or have had a negative test result in the previous 36 hours or have proof of a natural immunity by way of a positive PCR test up to 180 days ago (including 10 days of self-isolation following the result) Fans choosing the negative test pathway should conduct their test before travelling to the game but a testing team will be on site from 90 minutes ahead of face-off (starting this Friday) to help fans meet the latest guidelines. Checks will be carried out alongside ticket scanning. Extra staff will be on hand. Meanwhile, any fans who wish to continue wearing masks throughout their visit to games are encouraged to do so. We want everyone to feel as safe as possible whilst enjoying their time watching the Panthers at the Motorpoint Arena. The club endorses the new protocols as a way forward to try to keep fans as safe as possible and to protect players, staff and the sport."

An excellent & much needed requirement here. We have to protect ourselves during these Winter Months.

No objection to this from me, but what form exactly will the checks take? What do you need to prove vaccination, or a negative LFT?

Some more detail here: www.motorpointarenanottingham.com/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=keeping-you-safe&BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::context_id="We kindly ask all customers aged 18 and over (unless medically exempt) attending a show or event at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, to be prepared to show a PRINTED OR DIGITAL COPY of one of the following: - A valid NHS Covid Pass via the NHS App or an NHS Covid Pass letter (available by phoning 119); or - Proof of a negative lateral flow (text or email) or PCR test result within the last 48 hours; or - Proof of a completed full course of vaccinations (with your 2nd jab at least 14 days ago); or - Proof that you have had Covid-19 up to 180 days ago (and after a 10 day self-isolation period)"

Would this/does this apply to all arena/rinks? Might as well make it an Elite thing at least. For people already going to Sheffield v Coventry enticing people to travel for the £8 (is it?) entry fee. No one wants to get there and not get in, less you have to buy your ticket in advance, I'm not well versed in this these days, maybe some other clubs have rules we don't know about, so worth asking pre game.

What's to stop the unscrupulous getting a negative home LF test done, then not reporting it until the day before the game, and thus getting in, even if they are by then infectious?

You don't need to take a photo of your test (from memory). If you were unscrupulous you'd just say it was negative, even if it was postive or if you hadn't even done it!

Every rink is different. This isn't a legal requirement AFAIK, so it's just up to each venue (in England at least) to decide their rules.

Exactly why the system is a farce. Just get a load of lateral flow tests. Dont bother actually doing any test at all. Just scan the QR code and log it as negative. Makes the entire thing a pointless exercise. If you are double jabbed you dont needto test. Just show your proof. If you cant be jabbed but are concerned then you'll do tests regularly and report accurately. If you havn't been jabbed, dont really believe in it but are desperate to attend games you can, and are likely to just do as described above. A big waste of time if you ask me. P.S Yes,I am doubled jabbed.

They can't even get their scanners to work some of the time so either this will fall flat on its face or the queues will be staggeringly long that they have to forgo checks to get people inside on time. Hope I am wrong....

So for some context I went to an Ipswich Town game (Uppa Towen!) at Portman road early in the season and they have been requiring this same evidence. The way they handled it was that they weren't scanning any of the evidence, but simply had someone going down the queues at the turnstiles looking at the pass, email, text message, etc... they weren't interrogating in detail, but they were insistent that everyone had to show them something.
They already have 5 people at the bottom of the stairs by icelocker. Just have 2 looking at covid proof before they get their ticket scanned (or clicked through as the case seems to be ATM).

I don't mind the new policy but all I ask is that the checkers know what they are looking for. I don't want the 3rd Degree.

I'm double jabbed with a booster. Downloaded the NHS app which proves this.

Followed by the standard security team process. Exactly the same when they started searches a few back. Start doing it properly, panic about the size of queues and then not bother checking the covid status at all for the last few thousand. Just waving people through in the end.

The steward on the LPS side said they weren't starting it until next week, they were just scanning tickets as normal.

So I got a bit more info tonight.
Security staff start with the intention of checking everyone. When its gets busy and queues get long they go to checking 1 in 5 peoole. If it gets really busy theyll even go to 1 in 10.
So basically its pointless and done in the hope that enough people believe they are doing the right thing.

If that’s true it seems rather dishonest by the arena to me. They are basically stating that people can attend a game pretty safe in the knowledge that the person sitting next to them has been jabbed/tested and checked and then they’re not doing it. It’ll serve them right if it comes back and bites them.

I was also at a gig at the arena on Tuesday and they were checking everyone even with thousands more people than Panthers get.

Got to the arena at 6.55pm, tickets scanned but covid pass not even looked at. They were having problems with ticket scanners (even after all these years) and I believe those queuing after us were all just waved through.
