You never know. It might work for Carter in Fife. I mean he hasn't got Lawrence to go to the pub with....😁 If Dutes thinks Carter is a leader as the press release states then he has a shock coming.... unlessCarter has changed of course.... It seemed to work for him in Dundee. More goals than Malmqvist, Golovkovs and Bulmer got that season, in a fraction of the games played. Probably all depends how you play him.

Well malmquist , golovkovs and bulmer were garbage so that doesn't say a great deal does it

Golovkovs though speedy was a one trick pony. Skate into the offensive zone, do a semi circle and pass it. He either couldn't or wouldn't attempt any other play.
Malmquist... who? Slow and never offered anything.
And as for Bulmer he's just a Lawrence clone. Rarely put effort in for more than one period. If you got two periods out of him in the same game it was a miracle.
If Carter outscored them it doesn't mean anything. Some players are lazy but still manage to make a career scoring points - at a level lower than they could have. Carter is one of them

Carter is one of them I'm sure if Fife can get the same return from him that Dundee managed, they won't much care about how much higher a level he could've played at if he'd put a shift in. I think it's questionable at 34 whether he can do that over 60-odd games, but it won't be a costly gamble if it doesn't work out.

Re-read the list of players mentioned in these recent posts and then tell me again why 13+ imports is a good idea.

X = what teams can afford to pay imports
X / 13 < X / 8
So no, it’s to do with the idea.

X wouldn't be the same value though. We'd have to use some of it on the 60-odd British plodders we'd need to fill the gaps.

The article says it all, really. Brust isn’t here yet, so short term cover. Whether you believe it or not…

Article on EIHL website today states Panthers have registered 14 non home grown players (imports) Is this just a mistake in the article (knowing the EIHL website it wouldn't be a surprise). Or maybe we have actually signed a 14th import that we can't officially announce at the present time for whatever reason - be it a lack of co vid jab/s or another reason

I'm included to believe its a mistake in the article as it states Storm have registered 13 non home grown players, when as far as I can tell they have 14....

As of 15.41pm it states: Nottingham Panthers have registered 13 non-homegrown players, and are allowed to make an additional 7 changes during the season.

Not for the 1st time ive commented on here about something on the EIHL website has been changed/removed soon after. The other being Austin Cangelosi being on the Panthers Elite series roster page before he'd officially been announced as signing... Someone from the EIHL oobviouslylooks at the cage from time to time. Why they can't get it right 1st time us beyond me....

Apologies for the cross-posting but this probably fits in this thread better than the actual one I responded too originally... Basically Doucet has decided to handicap his team until it's too late From the preseason video interview with Wallace that appeared on the EIHL website a few days ago it seems clear that Deuce and Wallace were both surprised by how many careers the pandemic had ended early: players they expected to be available retiring/or having missed to much time. Wallace references the good players being snapped up very early in the off season. Thus, if another is coming, made it sound like they're not opting for a warm body to take the final slot, but holding out for someone actually worth having, especially with the limited number of changes allowed prioritising getting it right from the start. Whether you agree with the strategy or not that's the impression I got. You can definitely hear genuine surprise in Wallace as to how much smaller the pool of players was this year

Strange seeing as they claim not to read the cage. 🤣

In other news, Mr Crap, Gone by Christmas/October helps himself to 1+2 against the minnows that are the Cardiff Devils in his EIHL debut.

It turned the game as well, some lousy official calls also didn’t help but we took a point, but lost the game we now move on.
