How many years ago did Blacky moot this one? About 3 years ago now? Like listening to archery on a crystal set while every last penny is being squeezed dry. You really would think that by now Mr Bkack would have cottoned on to the fact that Steelers crowds have grown massively the last few years since they started doing webcasts !

That would require a long term vision at the expense of short term gain.... So absolutely no chance.

I may be way off here, but is there any chance at all that Doucet's recruitment plans have been thrown a curveball when the reduction Saturday night games became known? Could the budget have been changed to reflect a reduction in revenue, hence having to rethink plans? Pure speculation I know!

Well it hasn’t affected Sheffield, apparently the biggest spenders in the league.

Budgets have a variance % calculated in to them beforehand. There's always safety in place relevant to the total on ice spend potential.

Got to make sure they’ve sold loads of season tickets first before they tell the fans there’s very few Saturday nights ! 🤣

A false economy by Panthers. It may also negatively impact on our start to the season, particularly with Devils game sharp - due to the CHL - and others with a full squad. I think when people called for a return to normality the powers that be at The Panthers took it literally. I was hoping to go to the first real hockey game when the league starts but will certainly be putting that back a game or two if we start short benched. I know others will see it differently but as much as I’ve missed hockey my relationship with the team is much less emotional than it used to be after years of NB’s mercenary ownership. I’m hoping the two ‘stud’ forwards are currently winging their way in, the ink is dry and all that, however….

I rekon the last 2 imports will be announced at the shirt launch now. I'll bet all players are coming in from some time later this week with camp starting next week. The final 2 imports will be unveiled in person at the launch.
As long as all players are here before the first pre seasom game and we have a full team for the first of those then fair enough.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Maybe they’ll announce someone tomorrow seen as though it’s the deadline day for season ticket purchases.

If they were going to announce them as per usual then there would be no reason to wait 3 weeks. Maybe they will do one tomorrow, not quite sure how any signing this late in the day would drive many season ticket sales though.

I doubt the full price ST deadline will make much difference, you'd maybe be appealing to about 3 people still undecided about getting one.
My money would be on Baggy's thinking, they'll roll these two out next weekend at the jersey reveal. Pretty common move around the league and we've done it before.
Edit - beat me to the punch Baggy

Memorial cup winning captain JJ Piccinich And 4th overall draft pick Griffin Reinhart have been announced by the Giants tonight.
Reinhart was excellent for Iserlohn last year so he’ll be a stud in this league. The Giants offered him a Uni place not thinking they’d be able to get him.

Belfast look the team to beat to me. Very impressive picks ups. Reinhart is crazy good CV wise, certainly better than Mark Richardson.

Point of order, Piccinich wasn't the captain the year they won the Memorial Cup, it was the year after. Just an observation, but he had the second worst +/- on his team last year. Reinhart looks the goods. He must want a masters pretty bad.
