I don’t think Hutchins is coaching at Fife anymore, think he’s left them and doing other things.

Have to say, he didnt get much ice time and therefore have much impact at the wc. Coaches probably couldn't find the right role for him, but what I saw the games seemed to be too quick for him. He'll be back among the EIHL goals soon enough though.

Amazing news for all Devils fans, Dixon was without a doubt a fans favourite he would go thru a brick wall for his team, and is pure class. So lucky to see him back, 3 great signings so far love it and well pleased.

And for those in Nottingham..... who cares, think most of us wish our opposition players broken bones most times they take to the ice, in a good way of course with no pain...

I very much doubt many of us wish injury on anyone. Strange thing to say. And this is the thread for Wannabe to express his joy at any and all Cardiff signings.
Cardiff know what they're getting with Dixon. He'll be 36 by the time the season gets going though, the numbers are trending down, I suppose it depends what line they're looking for him to centre as to how good a re-signing this is.

Decent signing, not one I wouldn't expect an Elite League club to be able to make, but he's in his prime years (29 when the league starts) and did play well in the Series.

Not a signing as such, but Ben Bowns is headed to Slovakia to join HK Dukla Trencin.

Does the signing of Waller mean the end of Myers or Batch in Cardiff ?

Does the signing of Waller mean the end of Myers or Batch in Cardiff ? On previous rules no. Only limited to 5 senior Brits. Waller is a junior Brit at 22. On top of that we still dont actually no what the import rules will be for the new season. If they were to change it'd only be to allow more Brits anyway.

The only reason i mentioned it is The Star do their usual thing, talking up Matt's Elite series performances as a Steeler, so whether there is something to that, maybe as a replacement for the captain if he decides to retire.

Just need some clarification .My understanding is that there is a cap on imports and a requirement for the number of junior Brits. You could sign lots of 'non-junior Brits' if you could find the right level of quality. It would just mean that you are not using your full import quota/not dressing them. Have I got his wrong?

To be honest I hadn't read anything into the details. I'd be suprised to see Myers playing anywhere but Cardiff now though. It's been clear that being at Cardiff is largely about being at home where his family want to be. Obviously we never really know everything though. A big pay day or something could tempt him away.

Last I remember, and this could be slightly wrong now. Also the league hasn't actually confirmed the rules for this year. We were at 14 imports icing with no limit or a high limit on the amount of imports you could use for the season. For what would've been a full 20/21 season it was suposed to be going down to 13 imports with a limit on the amount you could sign over the season +1 goalie change. 5 senior Brits(over 25s now I believe, it was lower). Then the rest could be made up of junior Brits(Obviously under 25s). Yes, i'd assume you could sign more junior Brits and play less imports if you wanted. I'm not sure if you could play a 6th senior Brit in place of an import, that may well be the case.

Thanks for this. I would just be a bit surprised if employment law allowed you to limit the amount of senior Brits you could sign in place of imports. Perhaps a bit of an academic point as most teams will max out their import quota.

Well the league have obviously decided the rules as coaches are recruiting so why don’t they announce it ? Probably waiting until all the season tickets have been purchased, then they’ll tell you it’s eight imports per team ! 🤣

The regulation changes as announced in 2019 for future seasons from 20/21. No other changes have been made since www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/216-roster-regulations-changed-for-2020-21-seasonFull breakdown and clarification provided.
