I think the fitness of the team is a huge problem, when they came out at the start of the second certain players were already hunched over as if there had been no intermission. That was very irresponsible from Pither and Kovacs in OT, they mess about, lose the puck and put in a half hearted back check. Farmer didn’t cover himself in glory tonight either two breakaways and he did nothing with either. Why wasn’t Bolduc playing tonight either? From the terrible weekend we’ve just had he looked decent, so why not play him both games and rest someone else, bearing in mind we’ve been struggling to score away from home and half of them look knackered. When Rheault and Bolduc are back in the side we will be much better, I think some players may need to up their game as well. A point isn’t the end of the world but this team needs to get it together. Bolduc was/is injured apparently.

This is what happens when you purchase a team of giants. No legs & no stamina. I said that about skating and big ice etc when we were signing them all Jord. But as per usual people thought i was talking crap !

Sorry to say it but the better team tonight by far won that. I'm not sure id agree on that but hey ho. For 57 mins it was very comfortable Apart from the nearly goal chances on breakaways from Farmer we wouldn’t have scored if we were still playing now. Steelers didn’t stop all game. Sheer determination. I take my hat of to their coach as he is doing a much better job than ours plus he doesn’t have the burden of being a hugely overrated team like ours is on the way to proving itself to be.

Since Oct 6, our road form has been abysmal and the biggest problem is lack of goals. You won’t win just scoring once in regulation as has been the case in MK, Belfast, Dundee and now Sheffield. These so called power forwards Chernomaz signed just aren’t up to it and we’re too reliant on Pither and Guptil. Heaven help us if they get injured. Spot on and exactly the same problem as last year. If you can’t score, you are under pressure all game and teams WILL score against us.

They worked hard but until the last 5 minutes I’d say they weren’t really threatening us, we gave up the goal because we couldn’t clear the zone, our guys couldn’t change and were knackered then they didn’t get in the lane to block the shot. Admittedly we didn’t do enough to win as we are creating nowhere near enough offensively, but Sheffield are a poor team, they’ve got hardly any flare in their forward ranks, which makes the result just as frustrating tbh.

Sheffield are poor but tonight we were worse. Great goal by Pither and from then on our forwards were very very poor. You can’t score one quick goal then hang on for the rest of the game.

Well so far this 'New Era' that Panthers were banging on about is turning into a damp squib! The only difference I can see (apart from the extra sponsorship money safely tucked away in the bank) is that the annual December collapse in form and results happened in October.
What a crock of doo doo!

Load of hot air from Rissling before the game and then the same old same old. If you got points for endlessly spouting crap we would still be at the top of the table.

I’m beginning to seriously think it doesn’t matter who coaches the Nottingham Panthers as there is obviously something fundamentally wrong within the club that makes players just seem to switch off once they’ve become comfortable in their new surroundings.

We've been a really poor side for most of this season so far. But, there are signs of improvement under Barrasso. He's instilled a work ethic which helps cover some of the deficiencies of the team. You are very right when you talk about the flair within our side, there isn't much at all. With the release of Lawrence tonight and Brooks earlier that gives us 2 spots to fill to hopefully add a touch of flair to the team. With O'Connor returning that means we are now running 7D. I can't see that being maintained so can imagine one of the D will also be released in due course, again opening up another forward slot for another import. Adding 3 decent quality import forwards to the team could make a huge difference, if Barrasso can find the right players in the current market. A goalscorer or two would be good. More than happy with what Barrasso has done with the team so far. His professionalism in interviews is refreshing too. Our season was over a long time ago but looking forward to starting to slowly climb the table to a more respectable position for a club like Steelers.

The tills are ringing. Job done at Panthers. New coach, new players. Same tired, hackneyed club.

Players talk, I believe we have a good reputation as paying on time, decent digs, well looked after, a better than average chance of seeing the season out if playing crap. It is'nt called the Butlin's of the EIHL for nothing.

Exactly Why are Panthees tired and can’t clear the zone ? We had 3 more players than Steelers last night and have had for weeks. Steelers should have been the tired team.

Steelers were playing desperation hockey in the 3rd and ot hense why they looked more fresh. With the news Lawrence has been released they know they are probably playing for their jobs

And what sort of hockey were we playing then considering we’ve lost 5 of our last 7 games ? I’m guessing “not desperate yet hockey” ! 🙄

What i do know is we were alot more disciplined last night and appear to get brought down to their level as well. The game was played at less than 50% pace!

We did play desperate last night when Steelers were putting pressure on, players where’s puting there bodies in the line, it was just unlucky that the same line had been out for at least 60 secs blocking shots and battling, they were dead on their feet. Then the momentum turned at that point. We played too conservative last night imo, we needed to put them to the sword early on and put the pressure on them, I understand why Rich set us up like that considering previous away games but there needs to be a balance. Last night I thought Garnett was outstanding and, when he got ice time, Tetlow played well. He’s looking much more composed on the puck now which is great to see and is strength on the boards is brilliant.

Mmmm well if our coach settled on setting us up not to concede for the remaining 57 minutes then I’d venture he needs some new tactics ! 🤔🙄
