Interestingly I just heard that Lawrence asked to leave Sheffield as soon as he spoke to CN so if he want's to come back enough to leave another club (which had been praising him to the hilt for several weeks) I can't wait to see him play this weekend. Suppose it depends who you listen to. Lawrence was on a week to week contract with us, so either him or us could move on at any time. I'd imagine if you were offering something a little longer, with the potential for staying on and a better chance of a league title he'd be crazy to pass it up. Either way, I thought he was a better player than some of you give him credit for. Not the hardest worker but can be a difference maker.

On the GM interview he's says he went to Coventry to do a degree so does that follow if Panthers had offered a uni place then he would have resigned? ?

It does come over that way doesn't it ... assuming the course he wanted was available at Loughborough. You'd reckon as well given he is studying at Coventry we wouldn't have to splash much cash as Nottingham would be the next best location for him to earn a wage and continue his studies.

If hes studying at Coventry then playing for us is probably better for him than Sheffield

If you listen to the Corey interview on the BBC he does say that he looked at re-signing Larry in the summer but he wanted to get some education. That means either we didn't have the place or course available, or weren't prepared to pay for that. Either way it sounds like they parted on good terms or I don't think he would have come to the testamonial or be back now. Just heard the interview with GM & he asked him on behalf of all the fans (because they would want to know) did he regret leaving...... err I don't think it was his decision to leave. Some of his interview techniques are cringworthy to say the least.

So his uni course as part of his Coventry deal would be ongoing? I guess it's no use to them at this stage.

The thing with our uni deals is that they're 2 years so maybe Corey didn't want to commit for 2 years to him

Yeah I didn't think they paid for them, but they still have a lot of value for Coventry, must be worth £10k+ each? Just seems a bit odd that they've given away so much for 9 games of Machine Gun. Guess it's just a cockerel up they have to live with though.

Ling took I think his MBa through Derby. I think the length of the course at Loughborough will depend upon the qualification.

I think the blaze got their recruitment completely wrong. But you can't put that all on Lawrence - they haven't improved since he left and he's certainly been better!

I'll claim my inevitable victory in this thread.
Lawrence rocked it, totally tore it up.
I wave at all you doubters. Watch me wave. I'm waving right now. Fear the Jordanoooooo wave.

Here's a fact for you:
Chris Lawrence was the only common factor in all 3 trophy winners.
He'd be one of the first is sign back and I was happy with his signing at the time and nothing has changed

I was a pro Lawerence person last year but you can see there was more from him this last season. Makes you wonder if he was playing injured last year or if he had issues with some on the team. Clearly Corey was a fan to bring him back anyway.
