I'd rather Mosey be played as a forward than on D. Great that he can play both, but for me he was more effective up front last season.

Disappointed with the news if I'm honest. But now's not the time to go into the reasons I think we should have made a change. Corey is the man chosen and we have to support him and give him an opportunity to build a new squad that can challenge for all available honours. And with others in the CHL, for me this has to mean a serious league title challenge (not a promising couple of weeks) next season to justify the faith shown in him.
Neither excited nor gutted about the return of Mosey. I think we probably got good value out of him for what we would have been paying given his CV, and he was certainly one of the few players who actually looked bothered last season. Probably higher quality options out there, but sometimes going for what you know is sensible, especially when you're in a rebuilding phase. He's solid enough and should give another consistent year.
Corey always spoke in glowing terms about Landry's attitude in training and games in interviews last season, so I would expect him to be one of the signatures he is looking to secure from last year's roster. I'd be happy with that as I really rated him. Other than that, leaving aside the question of K-Wall I would only want to see Doucet and possibly Wild of the imports from last time. Huge upgrades are needed among the forwards, even with the return of Clarke.

We'll never know if his job was truly in doubt, as suggested it's probably more down to people being on holiday than anything else.
For example, you can tell the latest couple of stories on the website stink of Morans writing. When is Neil Black going to understand that it is not the 60's and 70's anymore. The average fan is fairly media savvy these days and the childlike spin he keeps pushing out is so transparent it's embarrassing. Your days of dodgy journalism and everyone going along with it are in the past pal, wise up!
Moran needs to be locked away doing what some say he does best, running the day to day operations of the club. Can you imagine if we had somebody with more relevant marketing knowledge of a Todd Kelman or the guy up at Braehead.
You would think that the club with the biggest fan base and probably the biggest profit would be forward thinking with regard to marketing, sadly not.

I just read what both say/imply at Nottingham and Sheffield and see the difference in them ...,,,,'setting the bar high'. Going to away games if possible next season for something more than the game experience.

Not sure what to make of this.
The day after Sheffield sack Adams for winning the league title and getting to 2 finals, we give CN another year for a 4th place finish, a semi-final and a quarter-final.
However, if he can put his ego to one side and admit the mistakes he made last year and recruit accordingly, then I'll be right behind him. There's no Euro 'distraction' this season and we will hopefully have a bit more luck with injuries.
If he gets it horrendously wrong again then there will be plenty baying for his blood.
I feel he's very much in the last chance saloon next season.

If I had been in a two year downward trend at work I know I would not keep my job!
Sentimentality or laziness is the reason for this.

I feel he's very much in the last chance saloon next season. Again! How many last chances should he get? I hope we have the balls to change mid season if required.

I don't know how many last chances he has had before? The season before last certainly wasn't as he'd delivered the Grand Slam the season before. Last season was just dire though on so many levels. If he produces a repeat of that (or God forbid, worse) then yes, he can definitely go for me. I'm not exactly overjoyed with the news he's back but he is back and like I said in my original post, if he can put his ego to one side and learn from the (many) mistakes he made last season then I'll be right behind him.

Glad we got Corey back, wasn't looking forward to having a coach that's plied his trade all around the league

clueless last two seasons and now he is rewarded with another year?... think the last two days shows where the ambition lies in the EIHL... Nail and head springs to mind. I hope he proves us wrong, but I can now see us signing 70% of last years squad and be forced to watch incepid, boring hockey.

I wonder what Gerad Adams is thinking today.
My guess......is he is wishing he had worked for an owner who is as stupid and blind as Neil Black !

50/50 on Corey coming back. we know he can do it, as has proven not only with the Grand slam season, but 5 challenge cups in a row is nothing to be sniffed at. His recruitment hasn't always been very good however, and I'm looking for a vast improvement this season. I'd love to know what references were used for the majority of last seasons team. We didnt seem to have any identity last season or the season before for that matter. we weren't a skilled fast team, we werent an agressive hard hitting team, we just seemed to be a slap bang average and inconsistent team.
Corey has the whole summer to recruit this time round, and I for one hope he wont be rushed in to signing some of the dross we've seen the past couple of years, we need at least 1 more agitator, at least 1 other 30/40 goal scorer, at least one deterrant (lepine would be nice). in 12/13 we had Fox, Ling, K Wilson, Lepine - skill and entertainment moulded into each player.
whilst we all love to win trophies, at least if we can't we make some kind of fist of it and send a message during games, not just go down with a whimper like the last couple of seasons.
Over to you Corey...

I wonder what Gerad Adams is thinking today. My guess......is he is wishing he had worked for an owner who is as stupid and blind as Neil Black ! Not a fare comment.
On paper we had a terrific team. There were a couple main factors to our season outcome.
1) injuries to very key players multiple times along with extended games missed. Thus more ice time for those fit, or semi fit. Probably the reason why we struggled in March. Look how many games we were short benched in February. They just could not get their legs back in the home stretch. Not an excuse, but for a majority of the hard working players, this was the case. Forget straight 5 on 5. Though also playing on PP, PK, theses players were gassed.
2) not ALL players when healthy, played to their potential. Does blame fall on the coach? Usually you sit a guy and play someone else. Well with not having extra players or the ability to bring JR players up (which is a development tool) for whatever reasons, meant those with dings and slackers could still play and they knew it. These are professional athletes and if anything, those wearing the "C" and "A" should take care of that. Perhaps that is also an area that needs to be re-visited. Do they lead by voice, play, off-ice/locker-room or combination? Careful consideration in who wears letters next season.
Not defending Corey as much as we have to take into account that there are many pieces to a winning puzzle. We ALL commented on a lack lusted PP and by seasons end, he made some changes (due to injuries) but is was working better. Ran into a hot Coventry Keeper who then went on to win the Championship.
Here's to a successful and entertaining 2015/16 season.

If that was such a terrific team last year, why is it that by almost universal opinion on here 98% of us would only want four out of all our imports back ?
Mosey,Doucet,Wild and Landry.
If we are to challenge for the league next year,we better sign one heck of a squad, because you can bet your last dollar that Steelers and Clan will !

The reason we're so swizzled off at how crap last season was is because we've come to expect success.
Success that Corey has brought to us.
He deserves this chance. I just hope we sign some amount of toughness!!! Sick of seeing us being bullied off the ice.

Because all teams last year were very mediocre when compared to teams of the past. Look at our Grand Slam year, and the Giants the year after. Absolute forces in the league. Last year, we had a chance and messed up our chances in February. But for next year, all teams have to get better. So that's why only so few imports should come back

I just hope we sign some amount of toughness!!! Sick of seeing us being bullied off the ice. I have to say I am not unhappy with the fact he is back, but we do expect success and although we have won the CC and the PO a few times, one league title has to be improved on. Sheffield sent a statement yesterday and they are raising the bar even higher, we need to raise it higher too and with no distractions from European Hockey, THANK GOD, we need an exciting team on the ice, a team who can complete week in week out and give the likes of Sheffield a run for their money, dump and chase has to go and the systems we adopted last year must be changed. I am still nervous about Schmit coming back, he is a stay at home defenceman but he is quite slow, and I can't see how he will improve his speed, the elite league is only going to get faster and he might be further exposed next season. I guess Corey must know that his job is most certainly on the line this coming season, no excuses will be accepted from the fan base and I hope Neil Black is of the same mindset, otherwise it will start to feel like we are a cash cow with little ambition..... Roll on September and let's see some quality signings, we need players the quality of Roy, he is a match winner for Sheffield, just like Fox was for us.... Corey prove the doubters wrong and sign a winning team that will entertain and bring home some silverware.

Black out!
2 seasons of utter dross, last season was turgid.
Cue the steelers bringing in the man we should have signed
They better hand Corey a blank cheque book as this is getting insulting for the loyal fans.

Corey prove the doubters wrong and sign a winning team that will entertain and bring home some silverware. As far as Sheffield "raising the bar". All they have done is fire their head coach. The article quoting TS was full of everything fans want to hear. But can he provide ALL that the first year? Certainly not from the youth development side. That takes years. So let's see if he backs his statements with money and follows through this season.
Just feel with basically 5 predominantly successful franchises that the league as we see it now can develop much more other than the fine 5?
With talks of London + one more, that could dilute the talent pool and league.
Sorry to get off topic.
