heard last night sari was on a 1 year uni deal and is off back to finland Saari wasn't signed to a standard contract as such. He was 'emergency cover' whilst he happened to be studying in Nottimgham. We never had him on a uni deal. I think he offered his services at the beginning of his course. He just happened to play a lot of games due to the kinda season we had. I understand he simply asked to train with the team while he was studying at the university, and Corey signed him up for occasional injury cover. Of course, it turned out to be slightly more than occasional...

He didn't get many points but he supported play very well and allowed consistency within the lines.

Adam Henrich to Us is a rumour on twitter today...
In my opinion he's a poor mans Leigh Salters. Would be disappointed if we did sign him but am open to having my mind changed

Not sure if it's much to go on but I saw who appeared to be Phil Oreskovic driving through Gedling (Nottingham) earlier today, he was in a Panthers Smart Car too so I wonder if this means he's re-signed? Most if not all other imports have gone home but he's still here!

A rumour on twitter that ex Panther - Martin Gascon could be EIHL bound next season, He was playing for us the season before i started watching hockey so i cant comment on whether fans liked him or not but he certainly has good point scoring stats, but for the past 7 seasons, he has either been on very slightly under a point a game or over it, some points read 59 points in 25 games for Dijon and 95 points for 26 games for Brest! For Panthers he was 63 points in 65 Games! going on those stats id like to see him come to Panthers? Anyone got any other views on this potential transfer to a team in EIHL
Also another twitter rumour, Ben Bowns to Cardiff Devils

I would half expect Gascon to end up at Braehead for obvious reasons: Played in the same team as Bergin and Larocque(Should he remain at Braehead) when they were playing for us in 2009/2010 and played for Amiens the same time as Bergin in 2012/2013 to which they were both made Assistant Captains.

There's no doubt that Marty was / is a skilful player. He has good hands, and vision on the puck.
Where he is often found out is in relation to his physicality, which is probably why he's so suited to the game in France.
For those of you who were at the Panthers v Amiens game at the start of last season, you may remember that Gascon started the game looking head and shoulders the best player on the ice. Then he was clattered a couple of times, and his influence and playmaking disappeared from the game completely.
So, to answer the original question, I think I'd prefer to see someone in Benny's mould rather than Gascon back .... but Lee Jinman would be really nice!

If Gascon added a bit of diving and cheapshotting to his game he would be perfect for the new EIHL.

We've had to wait four pages for it, but finally, a Jinman mention, hoorah

Marty Gascon was awful. He was a turnover king, I'm no fan of Matt Ryan but I'd take 6 clones of Matt Ryan as my import forwards than having one spot used on Gascon.
Wasn't he done for drugs before he signed for us too?

Gascon would be a good fit for someone like Fife, Dundee or hull etc if he wound up back at Panthers it would show a massive two fingers to the fans and any hope of mounting a challenge for silverwear next season.
He will end up in Braehead im sure.

I think the only part of the Panthers fanbase who'd be really enthusiastic about a Gascon return are the puck bunnies.

The best thing about Marty Gascon was Buster's (remember him?) Robin Askwith looky-likey joke. So it's a no thanks for me, would show a total lack of imagination.

All the players we sign cant be top end, if we did Panthers would win everything every year then the league would collapse.Sound familiar?

Can you point me towards evidence of the league collapsing because of Panther's dominance? In fact, can you point me towards evidence of any British hockey league that has collapsed and the root cause can be directly attributed to any team's dominance?

think it was said firmly tongue in cheek due to all the fans around nottingham and further afield stating pretty much that...

Seems like quite a few giants fans think Murphy is on his way and none of them seem that bothered by it.

And yet he still had the 2 nd best stats in the league and won the numerous awards . Where ever he goes he will be a major plus , the fact that he is British allows the team to utilise there imports better , especially with the limited amount of British d men and forwards on offer .
