Rumours of Matt towe and Matt Nickerson both heading to Coventry.
Towe is a possibility in my eyes but I'd be VERY surprised if Nickerson would join another EIHL club other than Fife. He seemed to get very attached to the club and their fans and vice versa

Slava Koulikov to be player coach at Hull is one I've seen a couple of times on Twitter (although he is due to start the 2nd year of a contract at Peterborough 2014/15)

Why are you surprised? every team will speak to every decent brit that is available he's a better defender than mark Thomas is and he hasn't re-signed as yet. Just remember aswell that Richardson was a forward until corey converted him to defence so if they keep Thomas and Meyers they could sign him as a forward.

He is much better than Thomas but thats irrelevant considering he signed a two year deal last summer. Richardson was not a good forward by any stretch of the imagination and Corey converting him to D was the best thing that ever happened to him. No club in their right mind would sign him as a forward. so yes, im surprised.

Gerad Adams is the coach now so he may want to bring in players from the Devils that he can work with.

Wrong on both points Meyers had a contract with us before we signed weaver and just remember what happened there and we also know that 2 year deals mean diddly squat in this league. Richardson is a decent Brit forward and would easily hold down a forward roll in a number of EIHL teams and would be better at that position than a number of brit players currently being employed.

It's far from incorrect. Meyer's contract was ONE YEAR with an option of a second. Nottingham Panthers decided not to take the option of the second year. The second point about Richardson being a good player is entirely your opinion and by definition alone can't be judged as being right or wrong.

Whereas he can hold his own as a forward, Richardson has clearly made his mark as a defenceman, so why would you play him anywhere else?

A brit that can play defence aswell as forward is a very rare commodity these days and if you have the chance to sign one you sign them irrespective of weather you already have enough brit Dmen.

Meyers to Coventry Richardson to Sheffield I think that is the only realistic reason why (if true) Sheffield would be talking to Richardson.

Richardson left us to go to Cardiff because he was 'homesick' for Swindon apparently.
Has he checked where Sheffield is? Clue, nowhere near Swindon.

This just shows why the import limit should no way be lowered. There are just nowhere near enough good quality Brits about. If Panthers lose Lee, and Richardson signs for Sheffield, that gives Steelers a massive advantage over us, and the only way of standing a chance of overturning it is for us to either outbid teams on some of their Brits, or spend massive on top quality imports.
Where the same 9 or 10 British players end up effectively decides who wins the league - that can't be right and can't help make the league sustainable.

Any Brit movement in the EIHL seems to cause a chaotic scramble between the teams for whats left - you lose a Brit and there are one or two available replacements if your lucky. Look at Farmer, how many people were hoping his stint in Alaska would fail so he would be back in Nottingham because we hadn't replaced Myers with another Brit?....... I was, and thats not healthy for the sport.

heard last night sari was on a 1 year uni deal and is off back to finland Saari wasn't signed to a standard contract as such. He was 'emergency cover' whilst he happened to be studying in Nottimgham. We never had him on a uni deal. I think he offered his services at the beginning of his course. He just happened to play a lot of games due to the kinda season we had.
