Why are we pussy's for not fighting? Bit pathetic when we're on the road and no need to fight! Good game of road hockey if you ask me change the pussy's to dirty cheap shotters then, to which Penner should have sorted out, (he was probly worried though smith would give him a match penalty) someone should have given Finnerty the beating he deserved... Not happy at Panthers performance either mind... and yes cardiff played a really good road game.. When was the last time before last night you beat the panthers in the League at the NIC as I can't seem to remember?

If Lepine ducks down low enough he might be able to smash (sorry check) finnerty without knocking his head off...

Panthers were left hanging on in the 3rd, probably due to tiredness from playing the night before whilst Edinburgh had the night off. Well done to David Clarke on his Hattrick, and to all the Panthers fans who made the trip up outnumbering the Caps fans who managed to make the effort to attend.
Panthers played well and won 3 out of the 6 periods in Scotland this week, 3rd period in Braehead, 1st and 2nd in Edinburgh; but will settle for that with 4 points gain of course, while Belfast dropped 2 points against Cardiff.

Firstly the TCW coverage. The Clan very kindly gave me the password to the Arena's wireless network, but it wasn't letting me connect to the Internet and the normal signal wasn't string enough. This is where I want to thank Iain for saving the coverage by taking my texts and relaying them. Top job mate and many thanks. As for the game, scrappy first, poor second until the glass break then after that there was only one team in it. Clan did have a perfectly good goal not given by Hicks which would have put them 3-2 up so they can feel a little aggrieved. Ryan and Bellamy were immense tonight, K-Wall stood tall and Myers also had a great game. We also got under Perras skin, he lost his head and that helped win us the game. More of the same tomorrow would be grand. I echo Jonno's thoughts, though personally I thought the Clans disallowed goal went in the side netting not the goal, I was seated close to the net too, same row as Jonno. I think that could well off been a turning point as their heads dropped after that, before Bruce & Perras lost it later in the third. Had fun tacking the mick out of Perras in the 3rd period, and there was great support for the Panthers at the arena. Was worried at 3-2 down, but all credit to the Panthers for pulling it off in the 3rd period. Off to a Sports Bar now for beers/footy, though bars will be packed with the Edinburgh derby on along with the English footy. There were loads of aberdeen fans where I was staying Sat night, so was asking them all how they got on knowing full well they had been thumped 9-0.

The no appeal rule is a joke, Panthers should play Lepine on Sunday and say up yours to the league! Would be likely to lose any points won in the game if that's covered in the rule book, otherwise they would just make a punishment up anyway....
Actually if they are reviewing the incident to see whether to dish out any further punishment then surely it means they would have to sit down and view the incident.
Hopefully then common sense would prevail and the ban would stay at 4 games. Them apologising and saying after reviewing it they've decided it wasn't a check to the head and it's just the 1 game ban, is about as likely as Hull winning the league this season though!

Can you imagine the EIHL being placed in charge of F1? Speed bumps and Gatso's everywhere!! There wouldn't just be a speed limit in the pit lace, it would be on the race track, and overtaking would be banned because it would be deemed too dangerous....

Or a t-shirt saying "ban the officials, not Lepine!"
Unfortunately as a 2nd "so called" offence in a short space of time, he will probably get a 6 or 7 game ban whiich will be a joke. If he does then I wouldn't blame Lepine if he decided to walk away from the Elite League with immaediate effect!

maybe Panthers players should skate with their heads down and if/when they get hit anywhere near the head/face area, they should go down clutching their head. Get wiped down with a sponge, wait for the opponent to get the ensuing match penalty, then slowly get back to their feet and to the bench for a couple of minutes breather. With the calls happening against Lepine, this league is becoming a joke!

What a silly approach. So fans have to travel for 6+ hours in the hope they might get tickets? Everyone who wants a ticket and are making the trip will get one, but yes it is poor organisation from Braehead. It's obvious they haven't anticipated the amount of travelling support that the Panthers have. Some people have perhaps sensibly bought tickets in the adjacent blocks to the blocks the away fans have been allocated. They may well open the upper tier in the away blocks for the panthers fans. This isn't football though so there shouldn't be a problem with Panthers & Braehead fans sitting together either. How many Panthers fans will be in attendence do you reckon : 300?, more than 300?

I predict 5-2 to Panthers with a crowd of 3,889 watching.

How much are the online charge to buy tickets for the game? The option is there to buy tickets in advance online through the Edinburgh Caps site: edinburgh-capitals.com/shop/catalog.php?item=506&catid=Tickets then collect them before the game. As for the match, Edinburgh will be the fresher team as they aren't playing the day before, but they have not impressed me from what I have seen of them this season. I predict 4-2 Panthers.

Fraid the squeelers are leading on penalty minutes according to elite league site, maybe somewhat surprisingly considering they just have a bunch of chickens in their team plus Derek Campbell who bites rather than fights. Steelers down as having 572, compared to 494 for the Panthers for league games, though the Panthers do have the 3 games in hand.
Around 02/03 Panthers must have had the dirtiest team with the likes of Nieckar, wood and Jason Clarke icing.

Option C sounded good to me, but maybe with the woords added: "although no further punishment will be handed out if mr campbell then proceeds to bite a lino."

Think the 1 fight we will see will be between Lepine and Langdon. Their fight from last season:

Have Vipers got anyone for Penner to destroy? Scott Langdon is probable the toughest on there team.. But he's more than likely to go with Lepine as the two have history in the ECHL.. Yep think it will be these 2 we'll see fighting each other tonight. Their fight from last season:

But why can't we play Belfast when they are men down?!?! We've got the Squeelers twice with men down, can't have everything I guess. Be nice though! Unfortunately the Squeeler games are both cup ones, and its the league thats got to be the priority.

I thought the quoted 40% was way too high. If it is around 17%, that's 1 in 6 which doesn't sound great, and that probably equating to around 1 in 9 maybe againt the top teams, and 1 in 3 against the weaker teams.

maybe leave out penner on Saturday and rest Zion Sunday, Mcdonald on Wednesday.
Just play the rotation game depending who has a knock / who the opposition is..

Paddy Power online offer quite a few different markets, but are very slow at putting up their odds. Can be around midday on a Saturday before the odds are up, and even later on a Sunday.
As well as win markets in 60 minutes & overtime, over/under total goals, they have got markets like teams to win their match by 5 or more goals; or a team to win by any other scoreline, which basically meant a team winning and scoring 6 or more goals.
I got some good value and wins on these kind of bets at the start of season, when the bigger teams were facing the likes of Dundee, Newcastle. Much shorter prices now though on these bets.

and Steelers had no carson last night, it was great to see that Bruce's side gave them a 4-0 thumping in their own backyard..
It's a shame how the fixtures fell, and that Panthers weren't playing them this weekend instead of the week before; and we have to wait until boxing day to gain revenge in the league! At least there's the cup games in in less than two weeks...
By all accounts were not releasing anyone. I think the plan is to use 12 imports for the rest of the season and rotate. For teams like Dundee, Hull, Newcastle etc I think chances are CN will give a D man a rest and for games against the Big 4, use the import D more and rest a forward. It depends on his tactics for that night.
That's what I'm hoping for, and more weeks that not at least 1 player will have an injury or knock of some sort so can be rested.

Four goals scored in each period, a couple of very good looking signings who hopefully will be here for the remainder of the season, things can't be bad....
Hopefully Panthers will go with the extra import for the season and rotate depending on the opposition / who has a knock or needs a rest, with Zion & Angel the two most likely to need resting, but also would be nice to have 4 import d-men for some games too!
Hopefully Panthers can mount a series challenge for the Championship, Belfast may have slightly the better squad when everyone is fit but there is not much in it.
Well done as well to Bruce's Braehead for giving the Steelers a thrashing in Sheffield!

Giants won 1-0 on penalty shots after it finish 1-1 after overtime. So Dundee get their first point of the season and showed that they were no pushovers by taking the title favourites to penalties.
Will go for Panthers to win 5-2,.

Panthers next 12 league games are against the so called "2nd tier" teams, bar cardiff at home who the Panthers should be too strong for. Saying that though Braehead have a higher win percentage than the Panthers at the mo and Corey has already been outsmarted once by bruce on home ice.. Also a lot of travelling for the players coming up, so hoping bus-legs won't become much of a factor!
Really though anything less than 20 points from these next 12 league games I'd say would be a poor return and Corey needs to make sure the players put in maximum effort and don't just turn up expecting to win.
