Thoughts
First game vs the Vipers what do we think?

Well I'll be making my way down for my first EIHL game of the season - as are a full coachload of Viper fans.
I reckon a good result for the Vipers will be to keep the loos to 5 or less. But I'll go for 8-2 Panthers.
Still, despite my eternal optimism, I am really looking forward to it. Haven't seen us play for ages, and lets face it, they are 'my team.'

think the fans seem to be very much flat after another disappointing result against them lot, so the team will probably hammer vipaz and all will be ok in the camp........ again....

Who cares? We can stick multiple goals past the leagues lesser lights while running off the same hackneyed excuses when we fail to beat the real competition.
Anyone who thinks a big win on Sunday redresses the balance is as guilty as our pathetic management of perpetuating our constant underachievement.

Another 2 points in the league, but most fans will be more angry about the 2 games lost against the Steelers so far

You'll still get the happy clappers clapping asif we've just won the league.

It won't paper over the cracks, but, and with the greatest respect for Newcastle, we should win this quite easily. I reckon 6-2, rather a dull affair, NIC like a library, plenty of sweets on ice at the end.

I think they way we're playing, we're going to lose this..Vipers will be up for this and the same donut performance will appear from the panthers as i saw last night against Sheffield! Panthers 3 Vipers 4

I'm really excited, we get to dress up for Halloween!!!!
No doubt we'll out gun Vipers after firing multiple shots straight at their netminder and everyone will say 'their netminders a good player.' they all are when they face us.
We've really got to be aiming for a shut out against some of these teams. 1-0 Panthers would be an excellent result. but will probably be 10-7, something stupid like that.

Vipers (as it stands) down 2 imports. Blair Stayzer leaves the club and the polish chap whose name I dunno how to spell and cant be bothered to look up is injured.
Jarvis and Prpich still not announced yet.

Prpich announced in the paper today, no link as of yet because I haven't bothered to look it up. No word on Jarvis yet but if he's not in for sunday someone will be double shifting (and the only request I have is that it's NOT Schwarz!)
Stayzer hadn't been having much of an impact in recent games, so his release is of no massive surprise to anyone with functioning braincells. He clearly wasn't happy over here and it was translating in how he was playing.
I can't see the Vipers winning this but it will either be stonkingly close or a complete thrashing. Depends which Vipers show up and how good they are on the big ice.
PantherDman. Effinger is good at stopping the initial shot, his only problems are catching rebounds and loose pucks, and getting up quickly. When his D clear in front of him quickly he has a damn good game, if not then he's pretty easy to score past.
Word to the wise, watch out for Zajac. Small but deadly...just ask Colin Hemingway...

Vipers lose Stayzer (sp), plus they play belfast the day before. They should be pretty knackered by the time they get here.

Wes Jarvis could still be signing and in for the weekend. Not heard confirmation yet but Danny is apparently looking for an offensive D-man

Shouldn't have a problem on Sunday, the Panthers forwards don't go after rebounds they just like watching them. Ask Muskrat in the Steelers goal, held two or three shots all night on Wednesday but was troubled only once with his big juicy rebounds.

Going by the comments on TCW tonight, we might have learned to gobble up some of those juicy rebounds. So I hope we take full advantage on Sunday.

Now the Panthers- Steelers circus is out of the way until December, the team can refocus on the job in hand. 12 of our next 15 league games involve clubs 'percieved' to be in the 2nd tier of the league (Im not convinced by these 2 tiers), and its important we focus on each and every game as a must win.
