Don't bother Bramley, the 20/20 next weekend would be mildy more interesting than the GB v Holland if last years game was anything to go by. It was like watching two teams of pansies playing netball ! +1 no contact hockey, friendly is not the word. Tilburg are better than the Dutch National team on the last showing. International hockey is pretty much non contact,it was always bound to be being a friendly before the world champs though

I went to the last GB vs Holland game. to avoid the risk of being called 'negative', lets just say i won't be attending this one. Wake me when we play a top pool team. I doubt we'll be playing a top pool team for a fair while yet

It was ok last time until the stewards went mad and told the GB drummers to be quiet...they were the only atmosphere in the place! and they told them to shush!

Does anyone know what is being said at the start of the new video before Clarke skates up to the camera? I cant hear what it says just sounds really muffled from where i sit.

TBH I don't think it will make any difference to this particular game. Sheffield will be challenging for the league and will sellout their 3 blocks and IIRC the last game against sheffield sold out ages before the game with tons of people not being able to get tickets, even if 300 people who would normally go don't go I still think it would sell out. I would also be highly surprised if Corey is still incharge by the time this game is played. First bit i disagree with as I dont believe next steelers game at NIC will sellout if corey is in charge Second bit I agree with however as I dont think Corey will be in charge by then There were over 5,000 there last night so i doubt Corey in charge will change anything for a Steelers game...Corey will be around until the end of the season...we need all the players we can get as we still have a very good chance of challenge cup and play off success.

That double point blank save in the 3rd Triple save mate, was a tremendous bit of work. Although he'd want the rebound for their 2nd back He'd of also wanted a defence to clear the puck for that goal as well lol

I thought we ground out an exellent win in the end tonight, Blaze were so much improved on last sunday and really gave us a good game, very even throughout but i thought our better forward play was the difference when we finally clicked.
Some good big hits by both sides and was nice to have a bit of noise and atmosphere in the place for the first time in weeks! Jager's save in the third i think from Lacho was unbelievable! i think he must have been practicing since last week.

Anyone who writes Dean Holland off as a fighter does it at their peril. I think it was a couple of years ago, a viper broke Molins cheekbone with a check to the boards. Next shift, Bruce and Dean dropped em (correct me if I'm wrong) and Dean edged the win. I wouldnt say Holland edged it,he won it quite convincingly in the end with a right hook that knocked Bruce down

That new intro was brilliant!! Can't beat a bit of rage aginst the machine!video was good to Yes the intro was much better...glad to see they are making use of the video screens finally! First 2 periods were pretty dire but then the game came to life once Vipers got back into it...i think Holland will want to keep away from Stevie in future with hits like that ;D

I think the biggest contrast is that between a Panthers match and the Varsity match, tonight the atmosphere was absolutely amazing despite the majority of students having a very limited knowledge of hockey, they were all in good voice and had a few good chants and that's all they needed. More pumped music..a lot more booze....a much younger audience=a much better atmosphere

Really? I had no idea there fanbase was so strong, with those sort of stats they could easily sustain EIHL hockey. Im sure they're average attendance is only about 5-600

It's difficult to know exactly what will happen next season, I have no inside knowledge so an educated guess is all I can give you. Firstly the two teams that are most likely to drop out; Edinburgh- Many people have already given up hope of them icing a team next season and yet there owner only a couple of weeks ago issued a statement saying they would be and in much more competitive form than the last few seasons. So not all doom and gloom but I still wont be holding my breath. Personally I'd be very disappointed to lose the Caps as imo they have huge potential and with the new local rivalries should go from strength to strength. I think the Caps will always struggle playing out of Murrayfield...yes it has character but that attract the casual fan,a modern, clean, comfortable venue will.

But the one thing that really wound me up is the fact that the whole match night presentation was designed to insult and belittle the Panthers and their fans when I think we pay a great deal more respect to the opposition at the NIC. Which in my view makes the match night presentation at Coventry the best in the league...the music is spot on..they hardly play any cheesy music and the intro gets you pumped unlike ours,i love the countdown to the players coming our and the air raid sirens. Always make me cringe when a lot of fans clap the opposition out...it should be intimidating not welcoming!

i think the problem with our arena is that the roof is so high so it's hard for the noise to carry. the other problem is that people don't know what we are singing so never join in. To be fair i was stood next to you lot yesterday and couldnt understand half of what you chanted It was a great atmosphere yesterday.

Well done panthers.... Blitzkrieg from the panthers in the first period.....Blaze stepped it up from 2nd...too little too late.... K-wall was outstanding tonight for you guys...and you took your chances......no excuses from me...better team won by a long way. ( Have to add this...Robbo Vs Lepine....I know from a conversation with Jono that Panthers fans thought it was a battering...From my POV ( Block 14 )...Lepine threw the punches but Robbo ducked underthem..took pics which seem to suggest this as well.......then robbo slipped over and Lepine went on top...) Nice to meet Oldman BTW...lol Also, do you think the Muppet themed entrance may be dropped for future games? I hope not...it makes it all the more sweeter when we win! I left the Skydome again thinking how good the music is and how rubbish it is at the NIC.

Excellent Panthers performance...we came out so fast in the first Blaze couldnt cope at all and bang bang bang bang 4-0...game won really...Blaze weren't great to be fair and when we sat back a bit they still could only manage the 1 goal.
Clarke's goal...he hit it so hard and it didnt go high and his stick didnt break...i was shocked
Jaeger must of hated all the Panthers fans behind him all game lol

I took some first timers along tonight. They loved it, want to come again and said the atmosphere was great. Nice to hear. I thought it was a bit quiet personally. It was very very very quiet,ah well at least they enjoyed it

After a very slow start the game got going in the second and we scored some nice goals.
Lee's hit on Latuillpe (i think) looked clean enough but Nebus took exception and went for Stevie, not much a fight really...in the second one Harper seemed to swing and miss then Lepine just swung back and knocked him down then they wrestled on the ice...
Though Van Hoof was excellent tonight, layed on some nice big hits and was always in the right place at the right time...good shot for his goal as well.

would rather kill myself than watch a european league! Oh you know you'd love it really Darrell I wouldnt like playing in a European league simply due to losing playing the British teams and all the banter and rivalry which goes with it. I would love to play some kind of cross country mini cup though between a few countries...but not an entire season
