And lets not forget Richard Bentham and Dean Tonks who have also turned out for the Lions in the past, and didn't Euan King once dress as the Panthers backup netminder.
Good luck to all the team and lets hope they can emulate the U20s and get a medal.

Awww... c'mon..... BDS is one of the 'good' Steelers.... you can't have him biting chunks out of the poor fellow! Treating him like a lamp-post.... that's OK! ;D I vote for Oscar humping his leg. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Heard McKenna has asked Mario to come and play wiyh him! I don't think its too likely we'll be seeing Mario at the NIC, but we can dream. Anyway I don't think Penguin fans would be too happy if he did play here. They complained when he went to play in the Olympics, if he came here and got injured they would be livid.

Looks like he is the first true NHL to play in England then as even Davison was liek a 7th defencman or somthing like that. but a top line forward WOW well done panthers Don't get too carried away there, there is no way we can describe McKenna as a true first liner. He is very much an NHL fourth liner who happily found himself on the Penguins first line when the Penguins only had the one true first liner in Mario. Don't get me wrong I think he'll alright just not as good as most people on here seem to think, or as bad as the people on the Penguins forum have been telling me.

does anyone have a map of the hotel around our area in Amiens, France because I wanna know what the road was called where that Pelforth pub was!! I still haven't got an email from Adrian!! It would be much appreciated! Thanks xxx Try this map here. Click on any part of the map you want to enlarge. The bar I think you mean is on the corner of Rue De Beauvais and Rue Albert Roze. Thats 3 squares across and three squares down.

As I also sit on the goal line three seats up I witnessed , Ivan patted the puck down (not closed hand )and he did connect with his stick to push it over the line , I say the goal judge must have been Stevie Wonder last night not to have seen it , but its a job I would not take ... ;D You are obviously under the impression that Boniface consulted the goal judge. I certainly didn't see him do that, he just waived the goal off and ignored all protests. Just a bad call by Boniface, the goal judge had nothing to do with it. And it was definitely a goal I got a very clear view of it in block 11, unlike Boniface who had a couple of players in between him and the incident.

I have got the report and have scanned onto the internet in two jpgs, here. and here If anyone cares to translate be my guest. My french is only good enough to get a rough idea of what the article says, but I'm not prepared, nor do I have the time, to type out my feeble attempt at translation.

I'm also in Great Western Grand Hotel D'Univers. When is everyone arriving in Amiens, I'll get there about 5.20pm, unfortunately the others I'll be staying with don't arrive until about 10.00 pm. So if there is anyone else arriving early and they fancy meeting up for a few beers. Please let me Know. Otherwise I'll be sad Billy Nomates drinking on my own, as usual.

Currently there is no website for the NIHC as there is noone to run it. If there is anyone who would like to be the webmaster for the NIHC and has the time and necessary skills to put a website together feel free to contact me and I will raise the issue at the next focus group meeting. There was a website a couple of years ago, but the webmaster had a disagreement with the club and it was taken down. League results for the Juniors can usually be found on Malcolm Preen's site. However he does rely on the results being forwarded to him and if they are not they will not appear on the site. Congratualtions to the Pumas and good luck for today's game.

My Favourites are:-
1. Stu Grimson, Chicago Blackhawks left wing, explaining why he keeps a color photo of himself above his locker: "That's so when I forget how to spell my name, I can still find my (expletive) clothes."
2. Steve Smith: "Part of the learning curve in Edmonton is learning to hate Calgary."
3. Broadcaster Ron MacLean, on his four year contract renewal: "As always, I remain hopeful that Don Cherry won?t be offered the same length contract."
4. Ron Francis, asked teammate Mario Lemieux what he did to stay in shape in the off season. Lemieux's response: "I don't order fries with my club sandwich."
5. Bobby Hull: "I was a multi-millionaire from playing hockey. Then I got divorced, and now I am a millionaire."

The Panthers are away in Scotland this weekend after there playing no games at all last weekend, so if anyone is keen for a hockey fix a little closer to home than Edinburgh and Fife they are welcome to come and support the Lions, who are playing at Flintshire on Sunday, face off 6.30pm.
There are a limited number of spaces available on the team bus, if anyone is interested please PM me and I will let you have full details of price and departure time.

This is quite an interesting quote from the article... A typo, or are we getting the unified league we all want? I believe the 17 team set-up refers to the EIHL being affiliated to the EIHA and therefore the EPIHL. It clearly counts 8 teams (including Manchester) in the EIHL and 9 teams in the EPIHL.

THF = the Hockey Forum can't remember the web address for it though ( well i guess there isn't one nowLOL Yes its The Hockey Forum. Which on its intro page says "The only hockey forum for totally free speech", and has a very anoying sound clip, however when you click on forums it has a message saying the site owner doesn't like some of the recent postings so he's closing the forum for a while. This normally happens a couple of times each season. Not my favourate forum.

Looking at your next few fixtures I expect you to remain unbeaten until mid December, that should give you a nice lead in the title race, but the defining point in your season could well be late December/early January, because that's when you have a lot of tough fixtures. Well Steelers' defining point must be the next 12 games, all against Elite league teams and only four at home. Ouch!! If you get more than 12 points out of that you will have done well. Just hope your right about us being unbeaten until mid-December.

'Mo' would be a welcome return in my book. He's an old timer (In Ice Hockey terms) but he can win a face off, score goals for fun, & I assume would be classed as a Brit?. If we can nab him..get him I say. Yes Mo would be a welcome return and it would be nice to see a Panther Player winning most of their face offs. However he definitely does not qualify as a 'Brit'. To qualify as a Brit I beleive means having played under EIHA/SIHA at U19 or lower level for at least one or two years.

to be honest Levers wasnt quite up to it, he was getting laughed at by some of the opposition D-men for not being tough enough.... ...as much as i like him and the rest of the brits, i feel the need for the more myers, samples, clarkes of this world in order to have more effect in the elite league! I just think levers would benefit from more ice time in the BNL cheers andy I think you must have been watching another Marc Levers, I certainly dont remember him being laughed at. I always thought it was very unfortunate that he was the one left out when Jinman came back. You are right about one thing he could do with some more ice time, but I still feel that he deserves more ice time in the Elite League hopefully with the Panthers. With a bit better luck next season and less injuries Levers could easily make the grade.

I thought the number of Brits per team was suppose to be increasing from approximately 5 per team last season to approximately 7 per team next year. The "recommended" principles of the inter-league cup state a minimum bench of 16 plus 2 netminders that 18 less maximum of 11 imports that leaves minimum 7 Brits. So dropping Levers wouldn't make any sense unless we had some other British players lined up. Of course the "recommended" principles might just be something the Elite league is going to aspire to but not quite achieve.
