As the old EIHL adage goes 'rules are made to be created as we go along'.
I think you guys have a better grasp than the league.

As unimpressed as I am with the Panthers website, the EIHL one is far, far worse... it's a nightmare trying to find any decent information on there! (Conspiracy theorists may speculate that it's deliberate, that they just want to keep us in the dark... personally I just think they're utterly incompetent). But eventually, I found the appropriate info:- 2017-18 roster rulesSo... 14 imports max. (on the ice... nothing to say we can't have more overall). We have 15 Garnett Zakharchenko Spang Billingsley Brisebois Gagnon Sauve Brown Mosey Derlargo Lindhagen Shalla Phillips Mokshantsev Bussieres Maximum playing roster (of full-time players) at 19... so that's basically 5 full-time Brits, if you assume a full load of imports. We have 7 Gospel Lee Clarke Lachowicz Farmer Betteridge Perlini So it looks like 2 full-time outskaters and 1 netminder (Brits or imports) are going to be rested each game. And up to 3 U-23s. We have 3 Hazeldine Tetlow Kelsall We have 6 full-time D-men, so you'd think that 2 forwards will be left out for most games... that still gives us 13 forwards (4 full lines plus a spare) and 3 defensive lines... plus whatever may happen with the U23s. Looks to me like Corey is going to be spoilt for choice! Tinkering, think of all of the tinkering he can do 😂 This isn't a coach who handles having options well.

Does anyone else wonder why the os uses the words "lined up" and not "signed" - has he signed? Or might he sign. They don't normally announce until players are signed. Many players are 'lined up' for signing but take other offers so I can't imagine they'd announce before they had his contract in hand. It wouldn't the way they normally do things.

Kelman did a Twitter Q&A and confirmed it was last seasons squad that would be in the game, yes that god awful team!!! How does he know? At a guess last years roster will be loaded in as a default ready for updates. They start every game this way and probably know different here. It depends how much EA pay attention to it. Not sure how they looked after Euro leagues in other editions.

absolutely lost for words. The club for all its faults deserves credit for at least trying to put together the best squad we've seen in a long time. I think our depth is deeper than Cardiffs now. It's going to be a fun season methinks. And 2 spares in early with Tetlow and Kelsall in the wings. This is a very exciting on ice moment Not forgetting Hazeldine too.... Gonna be one hell of a season. I'm hoping Though Neilson plays settled/near settled lines this season & that the injury curse doesn't take hold again Hopefully Zakharchenko will get his Visa sorted soon too..... He won't settle his lines.

From what I can tell all teams have stepped up or down. I can't imagine the EPL teams stepping down attracting the same calibre of player this season.
It will leave quite a void between the top and bottom of British hockey.

It's not minor nor simple, it's an indicator of the unprofessionalism rife in the Panthers Organisation. But you know, shiny shiny also-ran trophy, keep the natives from asking too many questions. This was my point elsewhere. Not enough of the fan bases interest runs deep enough to care about the biggerr a picture. If we win a trophy, any trophy then they are happy and that's ok to a degree but whilst that is the feelings of most of the fan base there is no need for the organisation to push finances further. Letting players pitch up as and when is a symptom of this as is keeping a coach who is still fairly green in the grand scheme of things and gone stale when he should be really honing is craft and pushing his limits. Not just tweaking a line because he's bored!

I feel he's a a risky signing. I respect high risk high reward but I hope beyond hope we have a rough idea how to cover should he struggle.
Fantastic player though and a hot season in the EIHL could be jaitnthe declaration he needs to show Europe he's ready again.
His post illness DEL run gives me hope though if he performs well and gets a better offer I can see him initiating his two weeks notice.

If it's in the game it's in the game 😉 Yeah I know what you mean but when you switch teams to a different league you go via nation. I know 99% the CHL logo will represent the league but as it's a pan European league I wonder if there will be an icon to represent each team. Other than international teams this is the first multi nation league they've done so it'll be interesting. Ummm pretty sure the NHL is a multi nation league. Fair point but you know what I mean. A league split between North America isn't quite the split of Europe. 99% of NHL fans will know who is north and south of the border where as European teams more of a mystery.

It'll probably just have the Panthers logo on the team selection screen, well that's if the Beta was anything to go by. I'd fully expect to see the jerseys in the game looking like they do in real life such as having the country flags in the collar area. That reminds me, I've not seen any mention of the Top Scorer jersey, wonder if that's going to be in the game. If it's in the game it's in the game 😉 Yeah I know what you mean but when you switch teams to a different league you go via nation. Here's the thing. The CHL will be paid for the rights to use images and such. Some of this should roll down to us.
If Panthers don't push this beyond the aforementioned tweet this could be an indication this hasn't happened.
However I guarantee this will be good publicity money or no money. I was playing NHL before I knew there was ice hockey in Britain.
There will be others like me and if they find our team and if it's liveried in the selection page as a British team it could lead to someone taking an interest in us and finding there local team.
That said, cash is nice too!

Ah man sorry. To be honest you are missing nothing majorly new. Menus improved, gameplay the same really. The addition of the CHL is what makes it buyable.

It's not bashing. It's realistic expectations of Electronics Arts from those of us who have been playing this game for years. It is fantastic news and I'm looking forward to using Panthers jersey and such in HUT. It's just no secret some lower end teams are hard to enjoy in this game due to low stats. No one is unhappy. But it'd be remiss if people who are thinking of buying a console for the primary reason of playing the Panthers were not told how the system works. Panthers images put a lot of worries to bed. Its not you I was suggesting. I'll stand down 😂

Even a thread about a computer game manages to get a bit of Panthers bashing in it. It's not bashing. Cheapest i can find it is at shopto.net £42.84 with free release date delivery. Everywhere elses seems to be £50+ I cant find anywhere details of the players included though, do we think it will be this years roster as there wont of been too much time for the devlopers to put the players in the game. I have no idea how long this takes so may just be a really quick thing to do for all i know. It'll be this season's roster, and as the game isn't out till mid-September, it'll give the devs chance to watch some games and create opinions of players they aren't aware of. There's only a few teams they actually need to do work to as the Swedes, Finns, Swiss, Czech's, Germans etc.. are in the game already. The players probably won't look too much like they do in real life but hey, it's still going to be fun. I dare say I players are all ready rated and loaded. They will be focussing on the core squads in the game. Focussing on getting the NHL rosters right as players are moved around. I don't think they'll be watching our games. This is probably good though as hopefully they'll just make us around the DEL level so the team is playable. What will be interesting is if they have put any research into the player models. This will be blatantly obvious if David Clarke is white.

It will be current. They are very good at that but I dare say our stats will make us very hard to use. People use the GB national team for easy wins in HUT.
To be fair though those stats are probably accurate.
Be fun to see us in it though.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see a Russian signed up for a while after this season, unless they're a real quality player. From how Corey spoke about it, it sounds like he didn't realise how strict the Russia-UK Visa Process is, which is definitely a mistake he's learnt from. Probably assumed it would be similar to North American's system. I doubt it's as strict as the requirements Russia have in place for Brits and NA's heading to Russia, we'd have to receive an actual invitation before we can go to Russia  I'm sorry but do you seriously buy that? And if he genuinely didn't know, does that make it better or worse?? Shouldn't somebody have told him? Maybe the GM or something?? Does anybody not think it's coincidence that the Clan fans have exactly the same groans with their club getting players in on time that we do? Is there a common denominator?? Given you don't pay the players until they arrive, is there an incentive to them not arriving on time? The last point kinda works with my earlier point. Whilst the majority of fans keep paying the money regardless of team strength Black isn't going to make any more money by playing players earlier so status quo is maintained.

You could say 'hardly ever' but you cannot use the word 'never'. Mmmmm, Well i guess if you wanted to go back 14 years to the last time we finished 2nd in the league in 2003/4 then you might have a point........But we were 17 points behind Steelers. Lol Wow I just looked back through all the arena years and Panthers league record is absolutely and truly abysmal ! Grand Slam year. You're arguement is invalid.
