They always announced Green at the last minute it seemed. I think because it would deter walk ups, it would me.
I want a back up where you know the game may betougher but at least you have a chance to get the win.

Anyone else think we should go with an additional outskater instead. There are pros and cons with having an additional import nm. What's your thoughts? The question I'd ask is are you happy for Gospel to play 60 minutes against big oppositions should Garnett get injured. If the answer is no then I'd definitely sign an import goalie. I actually don't know enough about Gospel to answer myself.

Won ten games last season....can't say I'm overly jealous... I think that's a little out of context. He didn't get a very fair crack at the whip. He did well with the time he had. Tweet him, he'll tell you 😉

Why this different A's home and away. Seems rather silly and unnecessary to me. Cue a penalty for talking to the ref out of turn when Farmer forgets he isn't an A in a home game ! 🙄 Is that even enforced? You see every man and his dog hounding the refs.

Brown gets A Sauve gets A Farmer gets alternate and A for all away games With Spang for home games! I'm lost by this. Watched hockey and Panthers for a long time. Never noticed this before. Is this a normal thing i've been oblivious too all this time? Different A's home and away Some NHL teams do it. San Jose I think after they stripped Thornton of the C and I think Buffalo. Could be wrong on the teams but I know t is done over there.

I'd love a respectable scoreline but their roster suggests it'll be the opposite unfortunately for us! Best team in Switzerland, with some very high profile names. Mark Arcobello, Andrew Ebbett, Mason Raymond, and Switzerland's #1 between the pipes. However, there's probably no bigger team we could've had the chance to showcase ourselves against. Going to be an incredible experience for those heading out there for the game, hope you all give our fans a good rep! But Didn't Neil Black say they were just a small town 😂

Who wants the cards? Someone does! Not sure the British card market is that strong. I'm sure they are worth it but it's not something a lot of British fans invest in.

He was plan B wasn't he? At least we are not trying to replace a starting netminder.
I reserve judgment as to whether they should of signed him as it depends on the timeline of him being investigated. I don't think even the Panthers would of signed him if they new it was going to happen.

Hey everyone! Thought this may be a good place to try...I have a massive collection of Yann Sauve stuff. Seemingly almost every card and even a rookie year Canucks game worn jersey. If anyone is interested, or if you know someone who might be, please let me know! how much for the jersey my friend? Ditto 😂

So we will basically have a full team for 1 week and 2 games before the CHL, and for 3 weeks and 6 games before the domestic season starts. Perfect? - no. But that's a damned sight better than in previous seasons. Overall - decent job, Panthers. It's only a decent job in contrast to previous seasons but I'll take that for now and hopefully improve that further next year. Easier to feel positive with everyone here before September.

Nobody is moaning. Stop being so sensitive. The roster has decent quality and flexibility. Everyone is happy with Sauve but realistic that sometimes these guys move on quickly. It's a legitimate, proven concern that has happened before and will happen again. So long as Sauve doesn't become a one man team all is well even if he does move on. You know and I know that management are poor at replacing lost players. That is a concern with every player on our roster. It's exacerbated when looking at Sauve due to his pedigree. I hope all the speculation, theorising is wrong but it's a possibility. Read my post, then read yours. Then tell me who's being sensitive 😂 Simply making the distinction between 'moaning' and 'discussing' which you didn't appear to grasp the difference.

i don't think anyone has forgotten how tessier leaving killed off that season as a challenge and I for one am very weary for the club getting caught in that position again... however there is no reason this should happen to panthers anymore than any other team in our league.. To be quite honest is nice to have a worry like this 😂 Every club is at the mercy of two week contracts but in recent years we haven't had many flight risks to be concerned with.

2016/17 - sign crap players = moaning due to lack of quality 2017/18 - sign quality players = moaning due to too much quality Nobody is moaning. Stop being so sensitive. Just to add, I take. I credit for the question He can give two weeks notice at any point. Visa aside the worry is he's an awesome player likely to be on many radars. Official club speak means very little. These aren't rumours. Just speculation. It will die down once the hockey actually starts. We'll see him play, hopefully it'll be great. He may leave, he may stay nobody knows. But what you have to accept is when a player is talented and young there is a chance they'd take a better job if it came along. He owes it to himself. These guys aren't earning millions and if someone comes offering more money it's almost impossible to turn down as they have to make as much as they can while they can. Not to mention boosting your CV. Winning with a DEL team shines more than the EIHL. Brandon Prust took a year out of the NHL to play in the DEL and now has several NHL training camp offers. It's the better showcase.

My worry is he's too much of a stud. If he performs well he could well take a contract in a bigger and better league. The cynic in me wonders if this is a short term deal to showcase his talents whilst giving us a boost to start the season and he may sign for longer if no other offers come in. I like the guy but something seems a little off. Hope I'm wrong. But the cynic in me says....this could be why we signed that "extra guy" in Perlini ! #justincase But that's a huge positive if it is. A huge step forward in our complacent attitude towards covering gaps in the roster. That said if he goes and we just accept we have Perlini so we don't have to replace him then we may as well not have bothered . The exciting thing about this team is flexibity. We need to maintain that.

One thing though, if he was on a 3 month visa, surely Panthers wouldn't use up a few weeks of that time with pre-season? They'd get him in as late as possible to maximise the number of games he plays wouldn't they? That's a good alternate spin. Didn't think if that. Only time will tell but gisnifea gives me a little hope he's on a longer visa.

Corey also stated after Sauve's signing was announced that ''We’ve been patient and we’ve got what we wanted'' it would be a strange comment to make if he was then going to look at getting someone else to replace him. Hopefully that won't happen but it's a risk with any good player. We've seen it before and with Sauve or others we will see it again. We don't know when one went to paper to allow the visa process but for it to be done so quickly seems odd. I don't think he was signed too long ago though as this is the jidna player who sells season tickets and panthers wouldn't of passed up the opportunity to use him for that purpose.

What is the exact situation with visas? Am i right in thinking there are two variations, a short term (3 months) one and a full year one that takes a lot longer to arrange? My worry is that the quick turnaround from signing to arrival means the former Without looking I'm not too sure, I'm sure there will be a short and long term variation but I do remember that more often than not the Visa will be granted for the period of time disclosed on the Certificate of Sponsorship (Contract details basically) plus 1 month. It does seem strange that he's in so quickly compared to other North Americans in the past. Only explanations would surely be EU Passport or as you've suggested, a short stay Visa. Really hope it's not a short term stay, can't see him being much else but a stud! My worry is he's too much of a stud. If he performs well he could well take a contract in a bigger and better league. The cynic in me wonders if this is a short term deal to showcase his talents whilst giving us a boost to start the season and he may sign for longer if no other offers come in. We won't win the league until we have all our players here on time for puck drop. And here's me thinking you win the league when you've got enough points at the end of the season Fair point 😂 To be honest I know my thinking is catastrophic but seriously early points matter as much as February points. I hope we have everyone by regular season as with the size and quality of our roster I feel we have the best chance we've had in a long while even with Corey's unique coaching style.

To say we should have a full rosters worth of imports here by mid august comparing to starting short in September whilst not ideal people are still late is a good progression from previous years We won't win the league until we have all our players here on time for puck drop.
