From what I can tell all teams have stepped up or down. I can't imagine the EPL teams stepping down attracting the same calibre of player this season.
It will leave quite a void between the top and bottom of British hockey.

Yes, it's dead and gone... MK Lightning and Guildford Flames have, of course, come up to the EIHL... the rest are in NIHL1 (North & South).

Shaggy is spot on EPL RIP, but I personally feel that a version of that league may Phoenix like appear at sometime. Of course the ex EPL clubs may feel they are on a winner with lower wages and therefore a larger amount of dosh for the owners? There is now a glut of players without a club and being offered, probably, more realistic and affordable wages so driving down the overall costs. This situation can open up opportunities for the guys on the way up whilst consigning some of the older journeyman players to the hockey wilderness. I have heard of a number of players having retired from the sport whilst others feeling that they still have a contribution to make staying around to assist the young players of the future, and that is welcomed, to my mind anyways. The Lions are looking around for the players that want to help the team and it's players develop and entered the next tier of hockey knowing that they might be considered of little consequence to some of the opposing teams but you just never know what surprises might be in store for one or two of them if they take the Lions for granted. Might be an interesting season and at the end of the campaign changes might be considered to the league structure once again?
