How come we're expecting them in the next 48 hours after signing them late last week? Perlini i can sort of understand because hes got a British passport, but how come Sauve can sort a visa so easily?

I feel like the club may have withheld the signing in order to get his Visa stuff done by the time of the announcement, and get him in what appears to us, very quickly. Either that or he's got an EU Passport.
100% of applications are gone through within 15 days, and around 3% are processed within 2 days. It could be a case of Panthers using whatever contact they have in the Visa System/Home Office to process it asap.
It seems strange, not even some of the EU based players we have signed before have arrived so quickly. Not complaining though!

Unless he is only here until he finds a better club and is coming on the same type of visa that Nathan Robinson arrived on and he can stay for a maximum of 3 months before he has to leave and then apply for a proper visa. Maybe we do have someone else waiting in the wings and this is a win win for us whilst we sort out someone else.

I was thinking the same... if Sauve can get here within a week but Busseires was signed over a month ago?!

By the sounds of it we should be at full strength come Saturday then (i exclude Zak from this as we have 2 more than capable NM here already) just having a look at our roster, we really do have some very good quality in depth. With having 13 Forwards and 6 D (or 12 and 7 depending where Lindhagen plays) there really is a selection headache when it comes to choosing lines (to start the game at least! )

Bussieres was signed just over TWO months ago ! 🙄 So sick and tired of you complaining about this. If we work to the assumption that the club want them here on time, and are doing what they can to facilitate that then the only explanation for slow process is the admin on the government side. The only way you can counter that argument is by saying either: 1) The club don't want them here on time, which seems a bit of a weird thing to say or 2) The club aren't doing what they can to get them here and are being lazy. This seems a rather bold claim given that GM (for all his faults) is a full time member of staff. There may be some faults within the club but please just see a ray of sunshine for once. I feel so sorry for the poor sods who have season tickets near you.....

To say we should have a full rosters worth of imports here by mid august comparing to starting short in September whilst not ideal people are still late is a good progression from previous years

I wasn't complaining, just pointing out it was two months not a month since Bussieres signed.

I hope we have everyone by regular season as with the size and quality of our roster I feel we have the best chance we've had in a long while even with Corey's unique coaching style.

I think we've got a bit of leeway yet... the first league points aren't on offer until 9th September. That's nearly 4 weeks away and we've got 6 games in that time. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd say that's enough time to get things shaken down into some semblance of order.
Oh... and of the first 10 league points on offer, 2 are to be taken from Coventry, 2 from Braehead, 4 from Guildford and 2 from Cardiff. Of all of them, the only one that you'd expect to be a seriously tough test (on paper, let's not forget - there can always be surprises!) is Cardiff. Apparently not even Coventry fans are impressed by the Coventry roster, pretty much ditto for Braehead... and I haven't heard anyone yet who has had much good to say about the Guildford line-up, north or south. In fact, overall I'm quite surprised by the (relative) apparent ease of the Panthers schedule for 2017... it's early next year that is looking to be the harder test. A nice load of points in the bank would be very welcome before then... who knows, maybe that's exactly what we'll have?

To say hes the best signing people can come up with for Gilford says it all. Hes decent but not an omg player. And with their defence i dont think hes gonna have an easy year. I honestly think Flames are going to be in for a nasty shock.

He ended last season with a 3.51 GAA and .897 save percentage. This with a better defence in front of him. I hate to say it but i think Guildford are in for a long season.

Genuinely feel like Sauvé could be the stud defenceman we've been missing for a long time. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get poached mid-season.

Am i right in thinking there are two variations, a short term (3 months) one and a full year one that takes a lot longer to arrange? My worry is that the quick turnaround from signing to arrival means the former

Its not like we HAD to rush to get him in the country to cover injury etc as we have a good while before the season starts properly.

It is a win win as it puts Sauve in the shop window during the CHL and takes the pressure off of Corey whilst he continues to look....
