Its a pity the suspension is obviously based on the outcome rather than the actual hit which wasn't that bad, it didnt even look that hard and it certainly wasn't late. You have to keep your head up in hockey and if you don't then these things will happen!

I guess that covers it. Getting punched/elbowed in the back of the head by someone you can't see coming wouldn't be something you'd expect/consent to in most sports (including ice hockey) though would it? So presumably wouldn't fall into that bracket. I guess you kind of cover that towards the end of your earlier post though. no, but... the players acknowledge that being punched/elbowed to the back of the head CAN (and does) happen and therefore it is part of the risk of consenting to play the game. a risk that every player who steps on the ice takes. any comparison made to real life and playing sport is completely different and irrelivant, as the ones in real life dont happen in a controlled environment, they happen in an environment with very little control, authoritative or not. I'd like to ask Ashley if he consented to such action, it isn't part of the sport it isn't something which should be ignored and i think Doughnuts analogy was a good 1.

i wasn't there but if they played alot of dancy techno songs i would agree with you! i disagree there, if they had played a lot of dance songs it would of been great, they used a different organ tune which i have heard in the NHL quite a bit, and they played a pre recorded 'ole ole ole ole' tune which sounded awful Thats kinda my point though higgy, i despise dance music with a passion, hate it, cant see anything interesting about it at all but others love it, with music you can't really win. If they played hard rock all game i'd love it but others would hate it. So music is one of those catch 22 situations where some won't be happy whatever.

Cornish was straight in but Munn was closer and got their first! Lets see if Shmyr has the bottle this coming saturday . Lol quality, how many times does Shmyr have to fight him to prove to you that he has the bottle, as far as i can see the only reason they havent fought more is that he has enough brain cells to do what his coach tells him too, i know thats an alien concept when talking about cornish though!

Glad Ash is going to be ok, but has this forum turned into Steetalk? After 7 pages hasn't it run its course? Surely any further discussion should be on that forum?

6-2 steelers! Hope the panthers can make some noise for this one.... Lets make it a cracking atmosphere....it's nearly new year... if the score line you predict happens then there will be very little noise from the panthers fans i would have thought!

TBH the best thing Newcastle can do for next season is not to resign longstaff, complete waste of space now, to fat too slow and moans too much Amen to that, it was him that couldn't take the hit too, as far as i could see there was nothing wrong that hit!

but its ok for a player to jump another player? That happens in hockey - it's not supposed to but it's tolerated. What happens on the ice shouldn't transfer to the stands though. Ice hockey has a degree of theatre in it - just as in the cinema what happens during a game shouldn't be transfered literally to real life. True but its the same principal i take your point though!

time to pack your bags then sunshine, because those things happen every day, and i certainly found not only the descriptions of what happened but the peoples reactions funny. maybe you might not its acceptable, im not saying it for what its worth, but do you also find people gearing up hate between fans acceptable when the precious children themselves are shouting obscenities? oh please, wont somebody think of the poor children. I was at the game, I seen some banter between the fans. looked Perfectly innocent, some people took it well out of hand. If those people felt threatened by anyone, then surely contacting security or informing the steward at the door would have been a better idea. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t find any of the actions at all funny. I went to a hockey match to watch a good game of hockey, and both teams didn’t disappoint. The last thing I wanted to see was someone's backside, [glow=red,2,300]nor a mascot getting jumped[/glow], and an article of his apparel stolen. And once again I don’t find it funny at all, and I hope that other people agree that those actions (provoked or not) are unacceptable. but its ok for a player to jump another player?

Lump it all on Forest to beat Northampton Adam. Got to be a home banker this weekend. You must be joking, betting on forest is worse than Russian Roulette! Right after making £45 on that bet i've decided to pocket the £20 i put on so kinda have a free £25 bet.. I've gone for a £25 accumulator on: Bison to beat Hull Panthers to beat Edinburgh Steelers to beat Vipers Blaze to beat Giants ..Makes me a nice £222.58 IF it wins! How do you do an accumulator, i can't work it out!!!
