No sign of Lindgren being sacked yet though, despite being a disgrace to the jersey? Can anyone fill me in what happened here?

It'll never happen (well, never say never, but practically very unlikely) because you have to find somewhere for nearly 250+ buses to park, be fuelled and washed and fettled, near the City centre. And a new site wuld probably have to be at least twice the size to allow for new regulations on vehicle movements. Those kinds of sites don't really exist at the moment. Certainly they don't exist where any developer has "land earmarked for huge bus depot" written next to it. That's the biggest stumbling block for this "plan". It's long been in the City's plans to get that block redeveloped, but there isn't anywhere for the bus companies to go to. Dead in the water. That coupled with the fact the arena is haemorrhaging money.

Ah yes Doom's infamous 'Spreadsheet'. He is normally in the ball park, think he may be a touch off this season though. To me the Steelers season rests on the shoulders of Brendan Connolly. Pre injury Connolly was quality, just can't see it now tbh. Even before his injury last season he was poor, add an injury and another year older to that mix, I think he'll struggle. Connolly's been point a game every season he's been at Steelers, indeed every season he's been in the EIHL. I'd be surprised if this coming season was greatly different. You could be right, won't hold my breath though.

Why? Once again..THIS..TEAM ..AS.. IT.. STANDS.. IS NOT.. SHORT.. OF.. GOAL ..PRODUCTION.... To be fair, you said last year's team WAS NOT CHEAP until they were crap, then you said they were. Interestingly, a poster on another forum who "predicts" scoring and is regularly there or thereabouts, has Steelers, Devils and Panthers all on similar goal tallies, with Giants a bit in front. What fun, eh? Ah yes Doom's infamous 'Spreadsheet'. He is normally in the ball park, think he may be a touch off this season though. To me the Steelers season rests on the shoulders of Brendan Connolly. Pre injury Connolly was quality, just can't see it now tbh. Is anybody interested in this mini series, got 4 post on Matherson top 3 elite league D men, 12 for Kevin Domingue, most of that was agreeing/disagreeing if he's another Darcy Murphy, then Panthers sign another Uni guy Dominic Talbot-Tassi, number of post nil Guys like wannabe2 on The Inferno trying to put a bit of a positive spine on getting knocked back, not sure if many fans are that interested. I wonder if its that fans aren't interested, or they just don't post here anymore. I know that's why I haven't until now. We know what every thread will be before we start, the same few posters will post and we all know before we read it what they're going to say.

Panthers are a very good price at the bookies for this game if anyone fancies a bet! Which bookies is that?

Nothing is clear... all is assumption. The 4 coaches you mention... there could be 4 different reasons for any failings during their tenure... in fact, there are probably more - life is rarely as simple as there being just one reason for anything. You are correct in saying that Black & Moran are a consistent factor... it may well be that either or both of them has had some kind of negative effect... in fact, I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least a bit of 'drag factor' from either or both. But that could be said about anyone. However, it's pitifully poor logic to assume that a "consistent factor" is 'clearly' The Reason (TM) for any issues, simply because no other explanation is immediately apparent - or preferred. In any effort of analysis, scientific enquiry or simple logical discussion, the simple phrase "I don't know" should not be regarded as embarrassing... these days it's almost an act of moral courage. Absolutely nothing about this situation is "clear". Pitifully poor? Haha Stop being devil's advocate. When we're talking about how a sports team has performed over 11-12 years making the same stupid mistakes, it is perfectly fair to look at the consistent factor and say that it is a clear reason. If it was 2 or 3 years then fair enough, but more than a decade?! Whilst there may be some truth in what you’re saying correlation does not necessarily imply causation. There are many things that are constant over that time. Is it clearly the fault of the arena? Is it clearly the fault of us playing our home games in yellow jerseys? I think that is Shaggy’s point, things are rarely black and white and this is one of those times.

For the first time since he came through as a youngster Lacho now has to battle for his ice time. He could look at it one of two ways, take the easy road and go to a rink team to get that ice time handed to him or he could get his head down, work his backside off and earn ice time. I think our Brits as a whole are a bit of an issue, excluding Ollie and Tetlow, the others have all gone backwards. That's a rot that has to be stopped in a league with an import limit. Will certainly be interesting in the off-season regardless of who in coach. There could be a bit of a shuffling of Brits. Ciaran Long is having a great season, if he has any ambition I'd expect him to be signing for a title challenging club. Good points made here. Bit of a shame though, was hoping we might sign Ciaran Long 😉

"...when the 6'1" centre/left winger joined Norweigan outfit Mangerlud..." All the right letters, but not necessarily in the right order... That's not a typo, that's just 'Alternative Spelling'

Hopefully he can do what Bolduc and Tvrdon haven’t... improve our offensive output Marek Tvrdon - 3 GP 1G 2A Alexandre Bolduc - 10 GP 3G 5A I would argue they have improved our offensive output, but what do i know?

Mid-table mediocrity, I assume. Sorry, you’re claiming this Panthers team will be mid-table? Apologies for the delay in replying, but yes on current form we could be below Fife, Belfast, Cardiff and Coventry if they win their Games in hand. I would class 5th place as Mid-table mediocrity to be honest

Do they still split away fans either side of that drum? That's how it ended up last time I went to the Skydump. You know what we should do next time we play Coventry at home. Give a guy a massive drum and sit him right in the middle of block two. They might just get the message then ! If you do that you have to make sure the person smacking it has no rhythm at all, to give them the full skydome experience.

No Meyer's bad mouthed panthers at a social event I'm led to believe ... that was the end of him ! Did he really? As one of the organisers and therefore attendees at said social event perhaps you can tell us more? I don't believe Iginla mentioned which event it was prior to this comment. Interesting you immediately knew which event he was talking about though isn't it?

Most AHL rinks are 200x85 so the same size as NHL. A handful are slightly wider. Not sure about ECHL mind you. I don't suppose you know the sizes of ours and other eihl rinks do you? Always wondered if the nhl ice pads are the same as ours or storms etc ours is 60mx30m so about 200ft x 100ft, according to wikipedia

I think he may have played some pee wee hocky in the UK before he went back to Canada that isn't shown on his EP stats. Might be wrong though. He wasn't even born in the UK! Something fishy going on here I think, as Im sure he was classed as an import when Belfast signed him. Belfast bio suggests he played junior here but doesn't go into detail Here I assume it was when his father coached in Belfast.

How can he be? as far the rules go he should be classed as an import, same as Stewart I think he may have played some pee wee hocky in the UK before he went back to Canada that isn't shown on his EP stats. Might be wrong though.
