Are number 9 but you must have missed all the other saves when he kept us within range, I think you may be better off looking at the D who went walkabout against Hull, they all now think they are forwards, even Toneys!
Why not just be a big man and admit it you were wrong about KSP!

Two different points (and a distinction I made myself, I think): credit for the quality of some of the saves, no credit for the manner of many of the goals conceded. We've been in the position many times before where our forwards are out of the block like a rocket at the top of the season and everything's rosy so long as the wins keep coming and then, when the powder's not so dry, the NM's game starts to matter more and comes under a bit more scrutiny (seasons under Parley and Lindsay both started like this and I didn't exactly make myself popular with some people for criticising them so early on either). If anything, I think on balance that it's the late contribution of Galbraith (others too but Galbraith in particular) that's keeping the spotlight off the NM and diverting attention away from the sloppy stuff: after all, as long as we end the game with three, who cares about the two we conceded, right? Well, maybe, but what happens when we're conceding a couple of soft ones and only managing to score one?
KSP? A better NM than either of the two mentioned above, all things considered, but good enough to see us past the post? I still say not. The rest of the team? Very few concerns: probably only one player I'm still unsure about but we'll leave that for now.
And 'be a big man' etc? I don't personally see what's so 'big' about admitting you were wrong anyway but I'm not in a place where I'm ready to do it just yet, thanks (rods, reels, keepnets, etc.)

Im with number 9 as well here. just because we have won games doesnt mean he hasnt let in some howlers. Hes a big guy and doesnt seems to move quick enough around the crease.
The rebounds are just plain scary at times. Its all well and good standing up giving him a round of applause for making a storming save but if that came because he gave up a bad rebound he shouldnt have to have made it.
Im not unhappy with KSP by any means, I think Lehman gave up some awful rebounds, ad least KSP seems to be able to re direct them better... its just having the D then pick them up thats the problem.
As no9 said, still unsure, only time will tell

It's not the GAA (2.42 - best in league amongst starting netminders *) or save % (92.4 - 2nd best *) then? after all, as long as we end the game with three, who cares about the two we conceded, right? Well, maybe, but what happens when we're conceding a couple of soft ones and only managing to score one? Granted, the apparently soft goals are very frustrating to watch but it's the total number of goals that count, not how soft they were. If KSP lets in 2 soft goals every game and no others then that really isn't all that bad. If we finish the season with the best GAA and we've not won enough games to take the title then I don't reckon it's right to blame the netminder, or even the defense for that matter. It seems a little unfair to turn the spotlight on the netminder just because the forwards aren't performing. I know it's kind of becoming a Panthers fan tradition, but that doesn't make it right. * If the EIHL stats are to be believed ... thecageforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Hockey&thread=9930

yea stats are good early season.... but in all honesty I dont know if they can continue.. IMO, (I say that because other people may not have noticed or I have just picked up on them for some reason) hes gonna get worked out and come end of season he will be a mid level nettie.
I like his size and that he can cover a lot of the net and I hope Im proved wrong and hes just getting settled with his D

HA HA HA HA hilarious... we've lost 2 games all season, we're top of the league and yet still a discussion starts about out net minder being bad.... this forum is about as predicatable as there being extra injury time at old trafford until man utd win a game.

I was actually responding to a debate about our NM, not a knee jerk reaction to our loss. Infact, I was saying the same things about him when we were winning. Or is everyone on Pantehrs team perfect and tactics and systems 100% sound and beyond any sort of criticism untill we lose games? In which case how many games before criticism is allowed? I got some other criticisms, but Ill hold my tongue on those until ive been told im allowed to voice them.

Just to echo, so when's the right time? I know the usual time is when games are being lost on a more regular basis and the league campaign is pretty much derailed as a result but when's the right time? One other thing for clarity: we're expressing doubts here, really - that's all.

To be fair, no-one is saying that KSP is pants, that he's a complete sieve and should be gassed immediately... they're expressing doubts about part of his game - and some people doing that are also mentioning positives about other parts of his game as well. No netminder is perfect - no, not even Andrew Verner, regardless of what certain Newcastle fans might say! - so there's always going to be room for discussion, some doubt and a bit of criticism. As long as the criticism is fairly constructive - or, at least, not destructive - then what's the problem? FWIW, I have no real issues with KSP so far... it's early days, so that could change (but I hope not).
