its fair enough, but it wont stop me from airing my views on the matter. after all this is a public forum and anything placed in here is going to be critiqued by all manner of folk, including me. Airing views is what this place is all about... critiquing is fine. It's how you do it that makes the difference. A little less aggression, a little more openness to debate... and there won't be a problem at all. Ain't none of us perfect... but that doesn't mean we can't try. There have been times in the past when I transgressed... but I learned and adapted. As can anyone. Anyway... back to the real topic. A loss away in Coventry? Not good, but hardly disastrous. There's what - 47 more league games to go? Even if we split the series with Coventry - winning at home, losing away - that won't be a problem as long as we perform well against the other teams. I doubt we're even going to get a clue as to the true strengths of the teams until about Xmas or so...

Be careful to not talk too much sense Shaggy, Heanor Lair will get upset as he thought the team who was top after 9 games won the title.

And another thread descends into drivel in the name of peoples' right to express their views and urgent need to satisfy themselves that they're better than at least one other person. Funny how those who routinely and repeatedly lecture on ettiquette are so clearly those with the fewest qualifications in that area, isn't it...

Back to the game, we lost because Coventry were better.

corey - cut the silly penalties out , that goes for the rest of the team to and instruct them not to get frustrated , keep it at 5 on 5 and we ll have the beating of most teams

I hope Corey does something with the team and soon.
They scrapped through against Hull and it sounds as if Coventry easily had the measure of them. I know its only October and I know Panthers are top of the league rather than bottom but its not good.

Three T's in etiquette not four though! ;D OK back to the game we lost simple as that, no major crisis and still in a good position though for now, personally I would rather be us than shuff in the league table.

A ban might stop you though. It's not up to you who runs this forum or how. If you don't like how this forum is run then go find yourself another one. For what it's worth, you can see who changed any thread title by looking at the "Last Edit: " comment at the bottom of the first post. what exactly could you ban me for in this instance? you're right its not up to me who runs this place, doesnt mean i cant have an opinion and air it should i feel i want to. i dont like how this forum is run? where did i state that? even if i did state that, do i not have the right to air that view?

its because you you **** everybody off buster!!!
Not the best choice of words to use, Big T... the very first of the posting rules is "no bad language", after all. It may bother some, others may not care... but in this case, I think that one was slightly over the line.

its because you you wee wee everybody off buster!!! why because he speaks his mind? dares to go against the common opinion? i often find that when people get annoyed about things he posts it's because he's on the money and people don't like to accept it. as for the swearing... great example to set big T

OK guys... we've all had a chance to air our particular viewpoints on the whichness of the whyfore, and by the looks of things nobody is going to change their position one iota, so can we now keep this thread on topic, please?
(If any hints are required, it's about last night's game - Panthers vs Coventry)
Thank-you ladies and gentlemen, we now return you to your regular scheduled programming...

We worked hard but got nowhere really, never put Coventry under any sustained pressure, but thats difficult when you take penalty after penalty. Coventry played pretty well and limited us to mainly long shots which wern't gonna beat Hirsch when he could see them all the way. Hicks wasn't very good, lino's iffy at best,3rd goal should never have stood as definate high stick for that one. D'amour hammered Robinson, never seen a fight start behind one goal and end up almost in front of the other goal before. Don't think Mr Robinson will fancy taking D'amour on again in a hurry, still at least he practised his skating backwards before he got clobbered ! Announcer doesn't seem to learn does he,still making the digs when he could. [glow=red,2,300]And, to the Coventry fan on the back row of the block in front of the announcer (block 12 ?), yes the man in the grey top who got warned for offensive gestures. I do hope your wife and young 3 or 4 year old child are proud of you, because if i was a fellow Blaze fan i certainly wouldn't have been, you were a disgrace !![/glow] Funny you should say that, there was a delightful lady sat at the front of block 5 telling people to p*** off too!!!

I noticed that as i thought there might be some displeasure following the comments. I also noticed slightly later the same couple of gentlemen being spoken to by the stewards. not that makes it any more acceptable..its just a pity the thread has turned again to 'look what your fans did' again instead of the cracking game of hockey it was

Also to hear a Panther fan complaining to a steward that she was given abuse by one blaze fan saying she shoud be F'ing ashamed of the Panthers fans but to be told nothing can be done. I know this is all aside from the game but Coventry need to organise their staff when it comes to security and stewards. But their commentator needs to learn how to keep his trap shut and not constantly edging everyone, you dont see it happening at our stadium from the officals do you. On game, yes we lost but not many other teams have won 9 games in a row have they (i think its nine) I will keep my hopes up about the Panthers after the party season as come and gone as to wether we win the league or not. Can we keep this topic on route, its not good to be laughing at you lot over petty squabbles.

Whilst I would have loved to have beaten Coventry, it's been obvious since the beginning that our tactic of winning in the third would eventually end up biting us in the ass. Yes, it's entertaining and it's thrilling, and it's good to see a Panthers team that doesn't keel over at the first hurdle, however we cannot keep relying on that tactic. Why can't we have the same determination from the first minute? Why always wait until the last 15? Teams like Coventry and, when they get their act together, Sheffield will not allow us the luxury of chilling for 45 minutes and then scoring like our lives depend on it.
Hopefully this defeat and the near-defeats we've had will make the team think twice.

You got me! (You don't really want to play that game do you?). Didn't see the game myself but, looking back on the wider weekend, it certainly looks like we're experiencing a wobble if not the beginnings of a full-on downturn. You can't reasonably expect to come home from Coventry with the points, I guess (although it looks at this stage that Nottingham/Coventry is going to be the key series for us so someone needs to win away at some point) but Saturday's game against a Hull side at least one import down (?) didn't bode well, despite the outcome. I've been quiet on St Pierre for a while but I think that his performances are going to come into sharp focus now that the forwards are struggling to comfortably put them away in big numbers - I thought both of Hull's goals were saveable and, at times like this, an NM who can mask the temporary shortcomings elsewhere would be one who's really showing his value; I know he's capable of big saves but the shots that are getting past him are routinely stoppable so he's still a bit in-and-out for my tastes.
