As the teams left the ice after the warm ups, two players were left on the ice and got into a bit of verbals, resulting in the Sheffield player slapping a few pucks at the panthers player from close range as the left the ice resulting in a scuffle, real classy from whichever steeler it was (Finnerty?).
Was this Richardson and Finnerty can anyone confirm as I was up on row V without my glasses!

Thought it looked like Corey but assumed it was Richardson and Finnerty after the fight at the start. Same old steelers!

Think it was more to do with being last man off te ice...Corey's little superstition.
Hewitt was being disrespectful away form home and got a slap for his troubles.

I just found this incident but i can see steelers opening their mouths and probably over exaggerating the incident.

We could say that Hewitt fired the puck at Corey, which I know technically he didn't, but if you can't beat em join em!!

Hewitt and Thomas are usually the last ones off warm up for the Steelers and Hewitt tried to mess with Corey's (warmup) shot at the net at a few games last season. Can't remember which one but seem to recall pucks were being fired down the ice at each other at one warm up late last season.

This goes back to last season aswell, Corey likes to be the last one on the ice and shoot the puck down th ice last season Hewitt turned the goal around so Corey couldn't score, this just carried on tonight where Hewitt wouldn't leave the ice and was shooting pucks at Corey for which he got a slap round the ear for.

this was classic entertainment, i'm gutted for any that missed it lol. They always fire pucks at each other, corey did the right thing, he stood tall, perfect glove to the mush, and stood his ground until hewitt left the ice. Corey set the tone for last night, he is leading by example so the players have no excuse. As a side note sheffield had their own pre-game antics, they gave andrew sharp 20 mins of ice time during the warm up

I always wondered what was going to happen when two want to be last off.Considering it was Panthers on home ice.Is it the norm that our player be given the unofficial right to be last off then? I say this as people are saying Sheffield's player was being disrespectful.

From what I was told the 'verbals' between them were just as good.

I don't think there are any hard and fast rules but with agree with the home ice precedent.
I am told though that should it get to stupid levels players who don't leave the ice 'promptly' when the clock runs down and the buzzer sounds can be called for delay of game. The same way a team can be called for not coming out after a break quick enough.

Result aside, from a Steelers perspective Hewitt has as much right to be last off the ice as Corey. The fact that Hewwy shot pucks PAST Corey in the direction of your net just shows that Corey reaction of punching Jason was simply pathetic & immature from someone of his age & responsibility.
I thought at least some of you would be ashamed of his actions, I would have been if it were one of our guys doing it, but I guess it'll be ignored by people or laughed off but I was very unimpressed by Corey's actions
PS. Well done on winning a tightly contested game, as Heanor Lair quoted me - your guys didn't choke last night, which you know makes a change from the teams you've had the last few seasons.

and that is in no way meant to be taken tongue in cheek there Glynn? If this had happened on your own ice ALL your fans would expect us to be off the ice first just like the panthers fans and players did. They were asked to clear the ice twice. Hewett and his mate hung about on the ice to try to gain a psychological advantage and corey stopped this happening (and the right thing imho). Maybe the next time we play in sheffield corey should wait for the zamboni to tcome on afterall he has as much right to be there as the home players doesnt he?.. And all this from a team that has signed a player who shoots pucks at the opposition in warmup, maybe it is catching on with the rest of the team.. oh well hope those grapes are not too sour....

Im afraid Hewitt got what he deserved Glynn, firing pucks at a player and mouthing off, what does he expect, A tap with the glove was enough to shut him up anyway.
Boo hoo
