To be fair, I only saw a few episodes of Lost and never managed to really get into it. It looked OK from what I saw but I saw my first glimpse of it a few episodes in so had no idea what was going on. I've meant to try and catch up on it and start from the beginning but never got round to it yet

tomtom, i'll say the same to you as oldman, you cant say you got into a show after only watching 1 (or a few) episodes, with long running series, you've got to allow them to establish the actors and plot before deciding on whether or not to bother.

if it aint broke, don fix it... Ritchie is clearly a one trick pony. Everyone has seen what his films entail by now - you can only keep spewing out the same format for a while before the public has had enough...surely???! I guess we'll see

I know what you're saying buster, that's why I was going to start afresh and watch from the beginning but I haven't got round to it. One of my mates has got the entire first series on DVD though so that might well be a loan I'll have to make

buster read my words i said probably my fault but i found the wire too messy , confusing , with far too many characters and trying to do too much in that episode,
now in general you either like a show or you dont, BTW lost was far from rubbish in any series in my opinion but that again is personal taste, problem i find and dont take this the wrong way we all have different tastes in entertainment , so you or i can suggest a programme but if the person disagrees nobody needs to get defensive and suggest it is their fault if they dont like your choice, it is all a case of one mans meat is another mans poison really!
Also to be honest havnt got the time to watch all this stuff especially while dragons den is on the beeb!

Well there's Step Brothers, that Pineapple Express is out soon (which I think looks utter tosh) and I'm not sure what else. I reckon Jason Statham's got a new film out soon though

if you enjoy a childish, crude, ridiculous comedy ( i do) then go and see step brothers, went last night it was very very funny imo, i can see how some might not like it but i haven't laughed liked i did at a film for ages.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of Will Ferrell though, although I'd be willing to give him another chance

I detest everything about big brother but if someone on here said they enjoyed it i would not tell them they are wrong , if you get that scenario! You or I can make suggestion but it is up to the individual whether they act on your advice or not and it is personal choice whether they enjoy it surely! It can never be a dictat it can only be a well meant suggestion! Back to TV, I would say for light frothy series private practise, (i think it is called that) a spin off from greys anatomy has been ok if just a little contrived! For all these Police Series programmes nobody has ever topped Hill Street Blues in my opinion, a lot have tried to copy the format though!

oh oldman, i've had enough of you preaching the same response over and over again. now matter how you dress it up, you are still saying the same thing.
i understand and acknowledge what you are saying. but if people give a show a try, they might like it, thats fine, if they dont thats fine too, but in your case i feel you needed to give it more time (like i have previously said). i know i cant force people to like something, or dictate what they watch, so again (see you are making me repeat myself now) please dont patronise me by insiuating that i dont know this already.
dude, its getting boring now.
pineapple express looks pretty good, im glad that Rogen and Franco are back working together. they were great in freaks and geeks. im looking forward to step brothers, same as pineapple express, more silliness.

pineapple express Sucks! can you keep it to pm's for once, you dont have to argue with everyone you know Ottawa. see, that doesnt work Upshall, because he wasnt arguing. if anything, when addressing oldman, i was telling him to pack in giving me the same old responses and trying to bait me into replying (hmmm sounds like a troll, something which i have been all too often accused of being myself), so really, there was no need to name drop either one of us in your post. i certainly resent you used my name.

since when is trying to explain to you that people do not have to agree with your taste and opinions trolling Buster.
My simple suggestion was that we all have different tastes which doesnt make anyone elses tastes inferior or superior to other posters!
Good advice from a old head i call it but to put it simply for you!
Humility get some!

The reality is that you're constantly cluttering up the board with your constant niggles with people and then give it the hard luck story when anyone confronts you. This is a chilled out forum, relax man. Oh, and you know what you're doing oldman, behave.

For all these Police Series programmes nobody has ever topped Hill Street Blues in my opinion, a lot have tried to copy the format though! Hill Street Blues is one of my all time favourites, as is NYPD Blue. I'm not really into TV it has to be said other than the History Channel, but those two shows as well as 24 & especially Dexter, I do have an immense amount of time for. *edited for typos*

I watched the first series of 24, but it became a bit of a chore for me. Felt like they'd had to add too many twists and turns just to fill the 24 episodes. Was relieved when it was over and I didn't have to watch anymore. So I didn't bother with series 2. The West Wing on the other hand I'll gladly watch til my eyes bleed
