'did tess walk by as well?' I can see the headlines in the Evening Post as I type...... 'Coffee fueled Manager arrested for Weasel Slapping!'
(slapping the weasel - they can't touch you for it you know )

if we have got the cash spend it on a top end goalie, this isnt cruikers.
That said if we signed him I wouldnt be THAT disappointed. Wouldnt mind a big goalie that fills the net

but if you could spend 400 pounds a month more than you could when we had rasto and askey and get a tessier in you gotta like it
he'll stop the first shot every time and with our D i doubt many teams will get a second chance at a rebound

I think the question that would really put substance to this rumour would be: Are Corey and Curtis friends on Facebook?

I dont think Curtis is in the same league as the Koenigs out there but thats the whole point, this season the goaltending has dropped in the league it would seem. Id take him because:
1) Hes the style of goalie we need. Big, stops the first shot. He will see the first shot because of our no nonsese D and wont have to get the rebound because the crease will be well and truly cleared.
2) He will be cheap. Before all the "you havnt seen what everyone earns" brigade start I can assure you his wage demands would be significantally less than Askey wants.
3) Hes a proven entity. For every Koenig theres a Lindsay out there so taking a gamble on the goaltending can ruin Coreys big plan.
Havnt been impressed with any of the guys weve been linked with TBH but would like a stand up goalie to go with our big defence

If you had any feelings for us at the "Squealers" you would "poach" Jody away from us. Nah stoopy, when it comes to big games..the bugger doesnt even turn up (literally) HL

Have just listened to the interview with Corey on radio nottingham about Molin coming back. When asked about the last signing, our new nettie, Corey states that he believes he "has " the right man for the job. Come on.....tell us, then i can really enjoy the summer!!

I'm pretty sure Cruikshanks has knackered knees, that being the reason Bison aren't re-signing him for next season. And if Bison don't want him pretty sure our quick to lynch fanbase won't be a big fan for long

I am surprised corey has left the choice of goalie to last, as i thought the basics of coaching was to build from your goalie outwards. I am not criticising his methods, it is just that most coahes sign their goalie earlier.

I am not criticising his methods, it is just that most coahes sign their goalie earlier. I'm not convinced that a team absolutely has to be built around the netminder. True, the netminder is the single most important position in the entire roster... but surely the overall ethos of the team is built around the outskaters? A team of fighters or hard checkers or fast skaters... a defensively or offensively-orientated team... that depends on the outskater signings. The talents and style of the netminder will undoubtedly influence how the team plays... but I think the overall direction comes from the other players. With that in mind, signing the netminder first isn't a priority. We still need a bloody good one, though.

Anyone remember Petter Sandstrom? He's still playing and looks like he's doing pretty well for himself, playing in the second tier Swedish league for the last three seasons
