My friend who lives in Coventry says that Steve Pelletier is apperantly in advanced talks with the Blaze! Me personally i would love to see him back!
What does everyone think?

The team is starting to take shape and look good, why ruin that by signing Pelts?

I'd be pretty surprised if that happened.
Interesting to see what happens. I can't see one of the top teams in the EIHL signing him but perhaps a good signing for a smaller team like Hull, Basingtoke or Sheffield

Me too i rated the guy for effort defo, and those checks he'd pin guy's to the boards no problem and as for skills well i have seen worse and can remember on a couple of occasions when he would get in to really threatening positions and cause other teams to do a double take on him distracting them from who was carrying/shooting the puck maybe not an all-star but very capable most of the time i'd think twice about replacing him espescially with the changes in personell in defence.

The only threatening positions he got in were threatening his own team.
Not a professional off the ice, laughing stock of many a forward on the ice.
Iv heard the cov rumour, I dont really care, just dont bring him back here. If Thommo has seen such little of him that he wants to sign him then I hope hes got a lot of guys around him to dig him out of the sticky stuff all season again.

Can't see it myself.
Thommo has a number 2 to sign (rumoured to be David Cullen) and looks like going with one more import D. that is likely to be Soderstrom as Thommo was quoted as saying that Matty had completely exceeded all expectations and would be getting an improved deal in the summer.

I'd be very surprised if any of the teams pinned-back to ten imports signed Pelletier.

Good luck to him! He'll progress a ton at Coventry and when he gets his positioning right he'll become the next Neal Martin.

I can't imagine players, imports at least, learning a great deal about the game while they're over here. You really think Thommo could teach him to curb his attacking any more than Ellie could? I liked the guys effort and it did seem to matter to him, but as has been said over and over he was often not where he should've been and it cost us, and his distribution wouldn't win any prizes either. I'm happy with what we've got for this years defence.

Well as he was paid beer money only last season an improved deal might be beer money and expenses! As for Pelts - isnt he Italy bound? HL
