I'm stunned. Didn't go to the game as I had totally lost faith in us having any ability to beat the Steelers. First time in four occasions I don't go to our Challenge Cup Final against the Steelers and that's the one time they win. It must be me. A reward to the staunch faithful and a shock to the rest of us. Well done, lads. My faith has returned and I feel duly ashamed to have lost it. Guess I better buy some play off tickets then !
Anyone know where I can get a video of the game ? Has Barrie our video guy got a copy yet ?

A massive congratulations to the fans, staff and players of the Panthers. A thoroughly enjoyable game (despite the result) in which both teams did themselves proud. It was nice to see Dave Simms and 99% of the Steelers crowd (including myslef) take defeat with considrable dignity by staying to watch the presentations. Congratulatins again and although I am gutted you won it is kind of nice to see the die hard Panthers fans rewarded for their support. Again congratulations!!!

We're gonna get murdered. Unless we see a drastic turnaround in the Panthers defending, powerplay and motivation in the next few days.

It does occur to me how impotant a split second is in ice hockey.
At 2-1 up we were under tremendous prssure and they were on a 5 on 3 powerplay. There equaliser went in right at the end of the 5 on 3 and fortunately the time officials judged the goal to be right at the beginning of the 5 on 4 so we were back to even play.
A second earlier and we would have had 40 secs of a 5 on 4 to deal with and it might hve been different.
Great game, great night, great result. I'm particularly pleased for my favourite player Lee Jinman. He has worked his socks off for 2 1/2 seasons for Panthers and desrved to leave these shores with the memory of actually winning silverware.
Well done Lee and the rset of the team. You were all stars last night!

What an amzingly fantastically excellent day yesterday was!!! Driving up in the glorious sunshine, you just new it had to be our time again at last. Great game, great crowd, great result! Now my butterflies have gone away and the 10 mins of chest pains during the game have subsided can I please get some sleep? Sunny - I was wrong, you were great! All others - I was right - you were great!!!! I'll echo Lammy and say a big thank you to each and every one of the team! Made a lot of people very, very happy. Finally, Rhino - you decided not go to the game and we won - permission to ban you from playoffs?!!!

Not quite sure what game PantherRich was watching if he thought Sunny was crap. Must be the only one out of about 2500 Panther fans. One goal was a deflection and the other was 5 on 3! He made some big saves where it counted and kept us in it. Credit where credits due.

Well what do I say?!! CONGRATULATIONS to all the team and fans. What an amazing night. It still feels so surreal cant believe we've actually won the CC!!! Dont think it will feel real untill saturday!Panthers played brilliantly- Such a nerve racking game though - dont think iv got any nails left!!! Thank you to all the steeler fans that stayed to watch the presentations. Shame that they didnt play any music like "we are the champions" at the end. But then again we were shouting so much!! Watched the players get onto the bus in sheffield and off again in Nottingham. All seemed very happy!! I also saw the "Panthers r Pussies" banner- how pathetic and predictable!!
WELL DONE PANTHERS YOU DESERVED TO WIN!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
BRING ON THE PLAYOFFS!!!!

Well done Nottingham, you fully deserved this win as I feel you played us off the ice for the first 20/30 minutes of that game and continued to play better than us for the rest of the game. We just didnt look hungry enough for it and seemed to be missing something, and when we did step up a gear, it was too late. Hope there is not too many hangovers in the Panthers camp this morning!! You played your hearts out, we looked like we were on some sort of training session. Bronsie played well and Sunny was having the game of his life, if there was ever a time that a goalie needed to step up, it was last night. Congratulations Sunny on a brilliant game! One little mention would be to the small group of Panther fans stood around in Entrance A last night waiting for the team to come out with the trophy, they made me and my boyfriend feel welcome as we went to congratulate the Panthers, Gary Moran, Paul Adey, Kim Ahlroos, Calle Carlsson, John Craighead and Briane Thompson were all gratious in winning and didn't mind us showing our appreciation for a job well done!

WELL DONE LADS....what a great victory. Wish I had been there to see it...but I was sat here in Illinois, listening to Chris Ellis' commentary on the edge of my seat.....and went crazy when we scored the winner. Bring on the play-offs

This could be a long post so i apolgise in advance.
Congratulations to the Panthers. They stuck to their game plan and somehow Adey has managed a strategy to stop us from playing our normal free flowing hockey. Shame for you it came at such a late stage in the season or the league could have gone either way. Thought both teams played some good stuff and the Steelers were all over the Panthers in parts but just couldn't put the puck away. Panthers took all their goals well and Ahlroos couldn't have scored a better team goal all season. I think the fact the Panthers started to play like a team really helped their cause instead of just having the individual players they have had all season.
I was confident all day that Steelers were going to win but once i stepped into the arena my stomach just churned and i got a funny feeling about which way the game was going to go. How right could i be.
Well done to the Panthers fans you did your team proud. Must admit for a record breaking crowd it was pretty darned quite in the rest of the arena.
Thought Hanson was awful for both sides but i aint going to go into that because it will make me sound like a sore loser. Just that the disallowed goal was a goal as the puck wasn't even close to going out,it happened straight in front of me. Hanson didn't even look at the linesman till after the puck was in the net and then decided to give the offside. Foul play on that occassion.
The two goal advantage was always going to get the Panthers heads up and ours went down straight away. Thought the Adams interference was slightly harsh-wasn't intentional or vicious but hey i said i wasn't going to go into that.
Panthers players really wanted this and the Steelers didn't. It's as simple as that. Darling didn't stand forward like a true skipper like Laniel last year and only Anderson had the sparkle that we had all season. Defencively we were pretty awful. Bolibruck has been the best DMan in the league and no one can argue with that but last night he didn't turn up. Shudra was another one who is the most experience guy on the team but again didn't look bothered. The Steelers thought they were going to walk all over you guys but you proved us all wrong and that is what makes the game so entertaining and enjoyable. Surely this is a good thing.
Personally i think Moran is as much of a muppet as you think Simms is. What the hell was he doing before the game. Didn't anyone tell him he looked like a fairy (sorry couldn't resist from the time about fairies at the bottom of the garden) but if that's what it takes to wind up the fans i think Dave Simms should have whatever he's on.
Once again a big congrats to the Panthers.
I REALLY HATE IT WHEN WE LOSE TO YOU. IT HURTS SO DEEP DOWN IT'S UNBEARABLE.
Now all us Steelers know what it's like to lose to your biggest rivals in the final. The Steelers players will be gutted and they won't want it to happen again. Let's just win the playoffs in your barn and we can celebrate in real style.
Thanks for a great night.

I went all goosepimply and burst into a chorus of "championees..."!! But seeing their two goals again was horrible, made me wince almost as bad as last night!! Watching it on Central I got the scared feeling back from last night, even though I know we won!! But still, its nice to see the coverage we so deserve!!

Only watched the Central Report (as had my mum shouting "TEAAA" from about 6:10, but there was no chance i was going to miss it:D)! It gave me goos bumps aswell, just seeing that final goal go for, my smile grew even wider:D! Though you could tell they've never been on Tv before, Struchy and Moran looked terrified:P!

I've just got in from the pub after work and would like to say I've never been happier being wrong in all my life. I didn't think we had a chance and wasn't going until the last minute, my wife and kids persuaded me and I'm so glad they did. A great performance from every player and Kim Ahlroos winner will stay with me forever as will the tears streaming down my wifes face, I wasn't far behind. Just as a footnote, my daughter was wearing her Panthers shirt when we scored both our goals, she then took it off as she was hot. Steelers then score two goals and the game goes into overtime. My supersticious wife realizes the above and makes my daughter put her shirt back on. Fifty three seconds later we win the Challenge Cup. You never know do you?

I can't stop grinning, Yorkshire Panther is wandering around the house in a daze singing 'Championees championees ...' LOL! What a night. It was also a pleasure to join Big Dave Steeler and his family for a drink in the Noose after the game ... and then to cheer the guys onto the bus and shake Paul Adey's hand ... A night I'll remember for the rest of my days. Hey BJ, you forgot to mention that I (that horrible "Glynn M" geezer) Plus the "Girls on Tour" & "Team 218" members were also there to congratulate you and Yorkshire Panther last night. It was great to see you both and a greater delight to have my horn tugged by a deleriosly happy YP, again See you both next week at the game against Coventry.
