Don't you just love the emotions of this great game and the rivalry between the two teams. Without the Steelers and Panthers games the season would be lot cheaper for me. I would be able to reduce the amount of valium I pinch from the better half. I hope it is a great event, with no spectator trouble and a hard game of hockey. I also hope our team wins, but I am no different to you in that respect. Enjoy your visit.

I've just done the first half of back to back visits to the House of Tin....Diana Ross (Tuesday) and CCfinal2ndleg (Wednesday) If Panthers perform and get me going half as well as Diana did, then we're in for a good night ( Diana didn't have any opposition there to play against her I suppose but she sure knew how to get her fans going to the beat!) C'mon Panthers...make me happy Wednesday night as well!!!!

I read on the Steelers website that they are playing in specially designed shirts tonight for the CC final and that they will be auctioned off by supporters placing bids up to 30 mins after the game.
Great idea...it will be interesting to see what they have come up with. I wasn't at the 1st leg (away in Toronto..namedropping!) but presume we didn't come up with anything as innovating as that?

What a fantastic win tonight, so sweet to win it at their place. Great show by the whole team especially the D, defended like Steelers have done against us for so long.
Our song for the playoffs now has to be.....................
Hey Steelers (you lost) I wanna show you what we won this year
Repeat as often as you see fit.

Yeah great game, went mad at the end! Thought we were very poor in the first (after the goals of course). Had very little to offer going forward and basically defended for the remainder. Much improved in the second and third and the game was very even, apart from the last few minutes of the 2nd where we completely fell asleep and let them back into the game.
Dont really agree about the defence Nemesis, thought they wanted a lot of time on the puck and seemed to spend ages clearing the zone on numerous occasions. But Sunny had a brilliant game, thought he could have done better on their first as it was at a good height on his glove side but he may have been unsighted. On the plus side, everyone worked hard and were well up for it. The forwards battled hard on the boards and didnt react to a lot of the niggly hooks etc. And the last goal was a cracker! The lads did great and its good to have a trophy to cheer!

I'll say it loud:
I WAS WRONG I WAS WRONG I WAS WRONG
That had to be the most gutsiest effort I have seen from a Panthers team in a long, long time. Credit to both teams for a wonderful, tension packed game. Credit to Sundberg. I have been a critic of his all season but he was simply magnificent tonight when it mattered. Credit to every single player wearing the Black & Gold, they sweated blood for the cause and got their reward. Credit to every single panthers fan at the HOS. We sure were loud & proud tonight. Credit to Moray Hanson for a superb refereeing display. He is sometimes much maligned, but I couldn't fault him tonight.
Wasn't it great to hear Simmsy have to announce every single Panthers player, and then announce us a winners. I bet that stuck in his throat ;D
Before the game, two Steelers 'fans' displayed a banner to the travelling support in Block 202 from the bottom of the steps, bearing the legend 'Panthers R Pussies'. When I saw that I thought 'I really hope we win'. I hope the banner is now shoved where the sun don't shine! ;D
Finally, ladies and gentlemen, I give you the 2004 Challenge Cup Winners, The Nottingham Panthers.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Didn't you notice that all the time the Steelers spent in our zone, which was a lot over the sixty minutes, the clear shooting chances created were minimal. Give our D some credit where it's due. Fair enough we didn't always clear it as quickly as you would like but they closed it down to protect Sunny and did it well IMO.
When the O/T started though I thought there was only one team in it. The possession and passing with the space created when it's 4 v 4, and the lead up to the winning goal, was Panthers at their best.

Just wanted to say congratulations (from here in Sheffield), not only on the win but on the behaviour/attitude from the Panthers fans after the win.
Also, I stayed until the end of the game (and am pretty disgusted with fans that didn't, given the hassle we give other teams' fans for leaving early), and think I got some pretty good photos of the presentation, etc (I use 35mm, so I won't know for a few days!). Most people looked too busy celebrating to be taking piccies, so if anyone wants any copies I'll be putting them on the web soon as possible, e-mail me for details.

A perfect summary of tonight's game. Especially the last sentence! Have to admit I was worried when I saw Hanson in charge of a big Panthers/Steelers derby but he proved me wrong. Fantastic (but nerve-wracking and throat killing!) game . twix
