WOOOOOO!!!!! Really didn’t think we would get through but we did. The first period was terrible again, but in the 2nd they came out guns blazing huge turnaround. We were winning face offs, sustaining pressure on the powerplay and not taking too many penalties and scoring ;D!. Didn’t realise we scored a 4th as I was to busy celebrating. I’ve got to mention Turco if it wasn’t for him we’d have won the series comfortably, the guy was immense, in fact both NM were. Next round the well rested Ducks . Over the regular season they have had the edge on everything, wins, goals, the lot. Not expecting in anyway to get through but hey you never know…. Quick question for the idiot here on the fixtures how is it on the East, in effect, 1st plays 3rd - 2nd plays 4th. Yet in the West its 1st plays 4th - 2nd plays 3rd?

Well the only positive from last night was the fact i didnt stay up to watch it! Thought maybe we would carry some momentum into the game from the last round and anaheim maybe slow in getting going again. apparently not! Not expecting to get through but at least make a fight of it, even the god himself got pulled, suffering from fatigue a little me thinks.

Buffalo creamed NYR too, they're looking unbeatable. Vancouver really aren't scoring enough goals.
How about Giguere though? 0.93GAA!

Have to say the Sabres looked excellent. I only watched snatches of the Ducks/Canucks game having videoed it, but the Canucks looked knackered.

This easy division business keeps cropping up hey, put it this way you still have to beat teams from other divisions too, I make it 6 presidents cups in 10 years ;D But you play your division teams more than you do the rest of the west, so there for playing easier teams out your own division will get you more points on the board will it not? Add to the fact we´ve beat your lot 3-1 in our mini series this season including a 3-2 win at your building plus a 9-4 win in our building.. So i´ll say it now get your Andrex ready!!

The SENS score 4 goals on Martin Brodeur in the 1st period, & then hang on for a 5 - 4 win! Nice start to the series. I'll take that, thanks VERY much.

Anybody heard from Pidge today? No! I wonder why? I was beggining to think that as well.. I´ve gave him until 5:45pm as well.. So i´ll tell everyone that Sharks stone walled the Dead Wings in there own building 2-0.. .. Yes thats the free scoring Wings that didn´t manage to put one past the super Nabby! A win in the Joe on saturday night should just about wrap it up..

Adam, in Pidge's defence... & also like the SENS, you have just won the 1 game of a possible 7. Ya may have won the battle, but you've yet to win the war. Pidge, may STILL get to have the last laugh.

We re giving you a headstart Adam ;D
Remember what happened in `02 a very good vancouver team coming out of Detroit 2-0 in the first round... the rest is history as they say, still plenty of hockey left but it appears the price of tickets is keeping fans away our lowest crowd in a decade last night of post season play. Thats the trouble with having 3 big franchise sports teams in a city and all at the top of their sports too.
Seriously we have to play a lot better than last night else this series will be a short one.
p.s. just thought id mention we re 5 key players out too, SJ full strength, no excuses though. The fans expect better than that
Us getting shut out at home is unheard of.

Canucks with a real gutsy effort to tie the series, much better performance from the team (couldn’t have been any worse!). Cowan with the game winner not sure how it went in but who cares it did! Still not scoring well but at least the defence was back to normal.
The Canucks, if my maths at this time are on the ball have now played the eqiuvalent of 11 games of hockey already! Why cant any of my teams win in normal time!
Also buffalo with a great come back to go 2 up, their looking in excellent shape!

Well, 'Mrs Wigwam' is now getting nervous, as her beloved NYR's bubble seems to have burst. Now 2 - 0 down in the series. It is gonna take a HUGE amount for them to oust the Sabres now me thinks. On the plus side... it does save the potential 'blood bath' in our house, of the SENS V NYR conference final. I really do not want to think what the atmpsphere would have been like in this house IF that game/series happens!

Now we have a series boys
Datysuk scores the game winner with 1.24 left in the 3rd, to lead us to a 3-2 win and tie the series at 1. Who says datysuk never performs in the play offs shin ;D
This after we went 0-2 in the first 4 mins.

NJD tie the series 1- 1 with a 3 - 2 win, after DOUBLE OT. I stayed up for this game but after Dany Heatley got the 2 - 2 equaliser, with seconds left on the clock & the netminder Ray Emery pulled, I had to go to bed. Slightly gutted to see we lost after coming back from 2 - 0 down in this game. Oh well, back to Scotiabank Place now. If you had asked me would I take a 1 - 1 series draw back to Ottawa, like most I would have snatched ya hand off.

A total of SIX goals in 49 play off games is poor Ian, poor because: 1) He's got so much talent. 2) He's played on an extremely competitive team. 3) Before this play off campaign, he hadn't scored in the post season since 2002
