i hope ally does end up in the eihl this year, but definitely not for us again! it'd be great to see JC give him a pounding, plus if the rumours of neickar going to london bear fruit then a ally will get to meet his favourite donkey again.

The Nieckar rumour was that he was interested in returning as Racers' coach. Now that Dennis Maxwell has been appointed there's no longer a vacancy. Unless, of course Maxwell does a Gary Carr and resigns a week before the season starts...

A rumour from the steelers forum says that Dion Darling could be playing for Manchester Phoenix next season.

i think it'd be great if it happened, i always like to see new franchises improve and with the signing of heavey and now the possibility of this, manchester look like making a promising start.

agreed. But the signing of Darling is very unlikely, he is very close to Blaiser and therefore any chance of him leaving until Blaiser goes is again unlikely.

Agreed - can't imagine him going anywhere other than Sheffield

<yawn> Another signing rumour for Sheffield..... <yawn>
Well, I suppose they've got to keep up their quota of 5 rumours per week somehow! ;D

Ahhh... another Brit coming to Sheffield?. Well, at least he'll keep those other 'sure fire' signings Tasker & Johnson, company!. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Just make sure he wears extra padding...don't want him getting splinters!

Sample, Potts and Lake would make a fine line IMO and should get regular shifts. Suppose it's up to SIR to decide if they are more experienced and talented than last seasons Brits. I still want Gavin back though

i agree with you.....a fine line.....over in belfast I dont really like Lake i think he is over rated and dirty....Paul Moran, Paul Sample and David Clarke are much better brits in my opinion.

Ok, so Lakey doesn't score many goals but he gives 110% every game and isn't a bad fighter (Mark Thomas can verify that). What more do you want? The goals will come with confidence.

Its nothing to do with his lack of goals, i think he is a cheap shot player and i dont like that......i remember his nasty hit on Walton in the first playoff game at sheffield, that was shocking if i could have scaled the plexi and hit him with my shoe (sharp heels) i would have done

Ever heard of the Sheffield Steelers Wheelchair Basketball team. Bet you weren't expecting that one were you? They are all British to the best of my knowledge but that isn't much so don't hold me to that What i meant was that the Brits last year were overshadowed by the Canadians (obviously) but if they were to build a solid line themselves then you never know...

Remind me and i'll tell you what i thought. He may lose his head occassionally but any of you Panthers remember that mid ice hit on Stancock. Was a beauty!!

waltz was up against the boards by 119, Lake comes up from behind and cross checks him high and waltz goes head first into the boards.....the guy was a liability and thoroughly deserved his 5+ game misconduct.

this is disappointing, weaver is one of the best brits and he ain't gonna be in our league again, same with longstaff, also with the retirement of Tony Hand and the rumour suggesting that Ashley Tait will go to Sweden, that leaves our league woefully short on Brits that can hang with the imports. Err, WHAT? Tony Hand has not retired and Tait has just re-signed for Blaze (as if there was any doubt)

Oh yeah. I remember it slightly. It was a bad hit but didn't deserve a GM. There have been worse this season. Paxton Shulte's two handed slash on Gerad Adams head in Belfast (oct 03) and he only got 2mins. Mind you, he is above the rules in this country.

A check from behind is either 2+10 or 5+game: the description of this case sounds like a clear 5+game to me.
