ok so why are any of my comments wrong then? he was slow, he wasnt physical and he didnt do anything slightly intimidating, how is that wrong! ok so you dont make instant judgements, why does that mean you have to pick apart my comments, i was hardly saying lets get rid of the guy hes naff, just what i thought of his game.
also why is my opinion wrong, its my opinion
i wasnt one of the people who slated Corey in fact totally the opposite. who said i was judging the guy, i judged his game, which was poor no matter how much happy clapper fairy dust you throw at it.
you dont judge players first games, great. again i dont see the issue, im not going to back track my comments on him or have egg on my face because i was judging that one game, i was really looking foreward to him arriving and if he plays brilliant in the next game what i write will reflect that. im not stupid enough to think a players ability will change as hes obviously a capable bloke, whether his effort and commitment to the club bring out that through the season im not sure but i will have made my mind up about that later on.
im not going to encourage any guy playing poor, new or old. pay packet should do that, also most new guys bust an absolute gut on there home debut, especially one of his attributes and need no encouragment

First goal was as bad as it seemed, im sure someone must have been able to tell Rasto hes not got it and to get back up. Even if someone told Rasto the puck was loose I don't see how he could have got up from prone in less than the two seconds it took Tait to lift the puck into the net. More to the point, where was the defence - Tait should not have been all alone in the slot with time to pick his spot. Oh I agree re Defence, I thought we had done that subject though so moved onto communication! Its difficult to tell but it was like watchin rec hockey how everyone just looked around for the puck then thought if we pray hard enough the puck wont fall to their guy! One cliche though... You want the D to clear the rebounds but as a D man the comeback is 'dont kick them out to their forwards then'! Im over saturday now, weve got a huge weekend coming up. Sorry to cause all the happy clappers a heart attack but we need at least something from both games, 4points really if we are going to keep pace

bramley its your opinion and you are welcome to it,
why if anyone defends a panther who they believe is being over criticised in their view and it is only my view, do we suddenly get these happy clapper comments,(rich) ::)not needed not clever and create diversionary arguments!
i do not make knee jerk decisions either way good or bad, that to me is commonsense so i was just trying to suggest that perhaps the hype got you and you were expecting too much for his first game and so why not wait and see before we start hanging him out to dry!
You see it is opinions and mine for what it is worth and without being happy or clapping!
is that i thought he had a steady game for a guy who would not know all the drills etc yet, and if he had buried one of his shots , we would not be having this debate?

it wasnt the hype chap, just that ive seen him play and been told what kind of player he can be, also been told alot of negatives of which he seemed to be much more in the mould of the latter than former
certainly respect your opinion, maybe i took your first post as more negative than intended. one thing we surely both agree on though, his first performance doesn't reflect what he can possibly achieve here, lets hope its big things

Use this link: www.bbc.co.uk/eastmidlandstoday/Click on watch again anytime today to see it showing the goals and the Neilson incident. First goal was as bad as it seemed, im sure someone must have been able to tell Rasto hes not got it and to get back up. Second goal, typical crash the net(wipe out the netminder aswell). Teams are going to take runs at our goalie like that night in night out thanks to our D doing nothing about it. We lost a point last week to bstoke due to Cruikshank running the goalie on the way to the net and theres another point lost. If you do things like that on Rees's shift youll end up hurt. Krajicek didnt do anything physically but always stood up for his goalie. This season we just tell Rasto to calm down and get on with it. ive not seen it yet and cant find it on your link have you a specific link?

This is still talking about a minor incident during the game though, yes it ended in a goal but come on guys we scored a single solitary lonely goal on home ice, how does anyone expect to win an ice hockey game in this country scoring ONE goal.... Absolutely. Unfortunately, Saturday's game was a battle of Offence vs Defence... the Steelers were superior in the latter, we were (overall) superior in the former. Unfortunately, they managed to cancel us out. That's something that needs to be worked on. With the amount of firepower that we've got, we need to be scoring more goals than that... MANY more goals. On another note, we scored one goal and that was on that stupid long pass thing which we've started to do way too often. I know it's worked a couple of times for PC but I thought our forwards were good enough to cut through defences with slick passing and speed, not the 'long ball' tactic we're implementing at the moment. Yup. Been saying that since the away game at Manchester. It's a wonderful play when it works just right - putting a dangerous forward completely behind the opposition defence and causing the netminder to wish for incontinence pads. Unfortunately, it doesn't work too often... it's far too easy to counter. We have the speed and the skills (yes, we do!) to conduct a fast short-passing game... skating up, tic-tac-toe... bang, in the net. We've done it before... and this set of forwards should be able to pull it off. Counterable, but not quite so easily as the long pass.

But we still havent had the guy anchoring himself infront of the keeper. Lehman is the keeper if any you need to create traffic infront of.
I thought Bergin would do this but it wasnt to be. Our forwards are fast and skillful but not physical and powerful, as a result the only way we get space is clever plays.... which are pretty predictable and dont always work
