I am one of those people who is guilty of getting on Neilsons back all season.
However, I'd like to give Corey a big pat on the back after last nights performance. Top marks. You did well Corey Neilson.
The stuff at the end of the match was sad. Why our players couldn't take their well earned applause is beyond me. Things were said and the action of the Steelers bench was pathetic. What a beautiful image of their club they present.
I'm not saying we were innocent, but we shouldn't have been banished to the dressing room. We didn't deserve that.
Tonight will be off the chain. Any truth in the rumour that Kirkham is coming out of retirement to officiaite this one under the eyes of the Tinpot orgnisation?

it was highly amusing seeing mike Ellis pull the reigns on our players stood on the bench shouting for shmyr to get back to the bench and calm down....
shame the end has dominated the talk of the game though as i think we handled sheff in exactly the way they need to be handled, well played panthers...but remember its only half a job done so far!

Interesting stuff last night. Bit like matches of old. Can't really say anything about it that hasn't been said already.
One thing that I think needs to be addressed is the security in your place. It's blatantly obvious that security guys haven't had any training because when things get heated they have no idea what to do. That muppet that supposidely got thrown out ended up taking himself out without a security guard in sight. How is this allowed to happen? Anywhere else security would have been all over him.
Same behind the Steelers bench with the crowd altercations. Scenes like this happen year after year If it was the same players on our team doing this then fair enough you could blame the players. The thing is that its different players every season reacting to possible provocation from the same fans. Surely security needs to be tightened in order to prevent nasty scenes in the future.
One last thing. Anyoner seen making any kind of offensive gesture should be kicked out immediately regardless of who they support.

Well said Craig.
I sometimes wonder how they would cope if something kicked off with the fans. I agree about the gesturing as well. There are notices on the doors saying people will be ejected and nothing ever seems to be done.
Finally, is it the first time that one of our fans has got a game penalty from the ref?

That muppet that supposidely got thrown out ended up taking himself out without a security guard in sight. How is this allowed to happen? Anywhere else security would have been all over him. Fair point that Showsec maybe could have done a better job... but look at it this way. The fan got chucked (well, chucked himself! ;D) because Boniface wanted him gone. Boniface is on the ice, talking to the officials on the bench - they have to get on the radio to Showsec to come and get the guy... which takes time. The fan was fairly swift in ejecting himself, so... <shrugs> OK, perhaps the Showsec bod stationed on that platform should have reacted quicker... on the other hand, he's got lots of fans to keep an eye on (including some rather abusive Steelers, don't forget that). A poor performance, probably - but they're only human. As for security anywhere else being better - is that your April Fool? Sheffield, Coventry, Belfast - they haven't got a ruddy clue. I've seen better security instincts from my cats! Oh, here we go.... "the nasty Panthers fans provoked our innocent players"... give me a break. Spitting? Lashing out with sticks? Even if the fans did provoke them (pure supposition) - there is NO excuse for players to attack. Spitting and stickwork are attacks. If those incidents truly did happen, then that is 100% the responsibility of the players. And I'm sure you'd say just that if it was our players on your fans. As for it being "different players" but "same fans"... dearie me. These are HOCKEY PLAYERS... Even putting aside my admittedly biased viewpoint of the Steelers (viewpoint - dirty bunch of sods) - hockey players the world over are known to go off on one. It doesn't have to be the same suspect each time...

there was alot of emotiong involved last night and things get said by fans... end of the day words and gestures are nothing compared to throwing sticks etc.
and as for fans goading the bench.... was it not discussed in another thread that the majority of fans sitting in block 15 are the guys who have been fans for years and years! hardly going to cause a real threat are they. and are we saying that the panthers place is the only place where fans shout at the away bench? i think not!

Absolutely cracking game & performance by the Panthers last night, worth every single penny of the admission price. Steelers came to be an un-disciplined rabble last night and got exactly what they deserved. Did they expect us to lie down and take all the cheap shotting? Personally, I'm glad Tessier decided to play like a cheap shot artist rather than how he can. Their whole game plan runs through him, so if he is off his game, all the better for us. As others have said, Nielson was awesome and was easily our MOM, but I can't criticise any of the Panthers team after a really gutsy win. As for what happened at the end, I thought I was a really bad loser, but I am a mere amateur compared to Steelers Inc. ;D

That muppet that supposidely got thrown out ended up taking himself out without a security guard in sight. How is this allowed to happen? Anywhere else security would have been all over him. Talking to someone in the bar after, who said that Bonifarce wanted someone removed for something they said, but he did not know who it was. That's when the guys stood up and said "it was me" and walked out. The security do a good job looking in bags as you come in

When the guy stood up and said it was me it would have been funny for a load of us to stand up and say it was me verbally rubbishing you. Imaging Boniface ejecting 2000 panther fans!

lol im loving shufftalk, complaining about our fans and players and reporting them to various parties, although i bet if they had won last night all would have been forgiven. Sour Grapes All Round! Fantastic game last night, not only did we win but i got a signed Cardarelli blade , im working tonight but will be nipping out to find out the score on a regular basis. Yesterdays performance was absolutely fantastic, we hassled and harried, did not allow them to get comfortable especially Tessier. Same performance tonight guys and we will be laughing! I was a very very bad loser last night. I don't care that we lost, ok yeah I do, but it was the manner in which we lost. Hey ho, got to do it all again... Boniface lost control and has set it up nicely for a bench clearance. Which we would have got last night during handshakes if he hadn't sent the guys off. Probably the best call he made all night there. Are we playing the final 4.5 secs after warm up tonight?? Face Off in front of Rasta if I remember rightly ;D just enough time to score a 3rd goal

must admit before last nights game i didn`t have much faith ,after how all the games against them have gone this season. but i`m so proud to be a panther today and i hope all the team are feeling just as proud. Imust disagree with some of you about tonights game though, think it will be a total different game. Steelers have got to come out and get at least 2 goals providing that we don`t score again, so they arn`t going to be gooning it up. Really wished that Boniface had let our lads back on the ice, just so we could thank the team for a great night and looking back not such a bad season. Good Luck for tonight, you know you can do it.

They know that they have got to rack up the points not the PIMs... and as last night showed, this time we're not going to cave in to their dirty tactics. Of course, if it's looking like they are going to be out of it near the end of the game, all bets are off....

My wife and I's first visit to block 14 (usually in 17) and we really enjoyed a cracking game. It was a pity the home fans didnt have chance to applaud our team off the ice at the end but we know why that was. Darby lost it completely with his attack on Ryan. Funny thing was Ryan laughed at him at every punch goading him to do better. Then he reached across and poked Darby as if an impudent kid. The fans all around block 14 were shouting 'Losers' and sadly Mr Simms was totally out of order. His effing and blinding with fists clenched told everything about that guys character. Following behind was the 'Captain' Mr Phillips, his face contorted with fury. He suddenly lunged upwards with his stick at a guy nearby but only succeeded in narrowly missing my wifes head. Both incidents were immediately pointed out to a linesman (23) some 2/3 yards away who was watching. He laughed it off. The guy with the young child reported the Simms incident to a showsec guy who at best could be described as being 'remote'. Pity it had to finish in that manner. Round two later today and my stomachs a churning.
