Goodness me. I'm scared to death and it's only Tuesday! And the fact they've just been beaten 5-1 on their own ice in a cup final has made me feel even worse.

Kim,
Got a good feeling though that things have changed and sheffield will have lost the confidence that they had in there own barn. Im going to go and say the end score is going to be 7-3 to panthers!!
This is going to be a long week!!!!!!!!!!! Roll on the weekend!

Was worried about these games, after last night I'm not now. Despite the result last night we were very, very good, your guys left after the second period and didin't look at all happy even at our losing scoreline. Looking forward to the games, hope they live up to the occasion.
Can't wish you good luck, but just hope for a good clean, fair fight decided by the people on the ice with the sticks and not the stripes!

Yes have to agree with Nem on that one, Sheff played a very good game last night especially the 2nd period. Still think we will edge this one though. 3-2 Panthers. By the way didn't see Moran get any ice time last night, wonder if he will play on Sat?

By the way didn't see Moran get any ice time last night, wonder if he will play on Sat? He does a grand job of being water boy! Although technically that title should go to Maltby but meh! As for the game...if the Steelers are angry after such an undeserving trouncing in their own barn, I expect them to turn up and deliver a good performance AND a good result! However, IF the heads are down I'll go for a repeat of Tuesday. Now, for the shooting practise..............................!!!

They wouldnt leave us out, they love us deep down As for the game, i dont like us at the back I feel we are weak at clearing the zone under presure. Keep Tessier out then maybe, if not pfft not good!

Well Im bricking myself over this. So many IFS and BUTS. If Rasto has a great game, if we keep Tessier relatively quiet, if Jody decides to go walkabouts, if Macca is on top of his game then I will be quietly confident. BUT if we turn up as per the last few games, going through the motions, no passion, no pride then we will be dispatched to join the also rans.

I'm a little bit confused (not difficult!)
Is the aggregate score over the 2 games to be the decider or is it saturday regulation time only and Sunday OT and penalty shots??
been trying to find out but not found the info anywhere

With the EIHL you can never be sure which version of their rule book will be implemented! ;D As I understand it there will be no overtime on Saturday and if the aggregate score is level at the end of Sunday's game then there will be overtime and penalties if required.

There may also be a newly "found" EIHL rule that there will be no penalties, but that regardless of the score OT will continue until Steelers score the GWG

Me and my girlfriend are trying to get our hands on a load of stick on moustaches which we'll be passing round block 13, (if we can find any!) just to get everyone in the spirit

I'm anxious about this weekend and I hope it wil have 2 great games. I can see us winning but at the same time we haven't beaten Steelers this season. Will be very, very close and I hope we come out on top. Hope for no mistakes from people (Rasto & Neilson) in particular.

Do you think the players actually read these comments?
If so what affect do you think negative posts will have on their confidence when they step out onto the ice... Don't get me wrong I think it's great for fans to voice their opinions good or bad and we all have our favourites players.
But hey when in Rome - it's going to be a tight one and can go either way, the whole squad has their own part to play. shuff are going to hit us hard and Ryan will be doing what he does best by policing, I just hope he is forceful with his fists and not gob off too much to the stripeys, cos that'll get us nowhere except on a 10 min misconduct. If he goes off guarenteed they'll take liberties and start with the cheap stuff.
A solid D and hit them on the breaks, we need to consolidate when short handed and power through on the powerplays.
A 4 - 2 victory to us at home, 3 - 2 to them up the road.

Can’t get more negative than 8 losses on the bounce Oh yes you can 9, Tess to score assisted by Sutts & ENG Moron. Steelers to walk it yet again PS Both games.

If people are so convinced that we are going to lose, then why are they bothering spending hard earned earned cash to watch it?
The result of the quarter final is going to be decided on Sat and Sun night, nothing to do with the results so far this season.
The players have been busting a gut to beat Sheffield this season and they fully understand our anguish.
I think we will see a couple of players really stepping up there game. I think Rasta has a whole load more that we have not seen from him yet, and he is going to be pivotal for us.
We also need Shmyr on his game with Johnson and that the rest of the players get on with their own games rather than getting involved in chippy exchanges with Steelers.
Control Tessier and the game is there for the taking.

I'm expecting Shmyr to go looking for trouble in this game. I think he'll do what he can to try and coax a Steeler into dropping the gloves. Shmyr's a "spare" 5th defenceman now, so it's not going to cost us much if he's off for 5 minutes.
If he can take Finnerty or someone with him for 5 minutes, it'll benefit us more than them.
I just hope he does it sensibly - there's no reason why he wouldn't - apart from that one game he's kept his head pretty much all season.

I think the bit in your post where you said "Steelers to walk it yet again" means that you did imply that Steelers have walked over us before!! Well at least thats how I understood it anyway!
