"....However, as has been common for Clan of late, the lead didn't last lost. Marc-Oliver (Marc-Olivier is his actual name) Vallerand levelled the game at 6:07 with a nice touch off a Robert Dowd pass to take him away from Antti Karjalainen and slot (slot what? Himself?) into the net. .... Those missed opportunities came back to haunt the home side 5:45 into period two with an excellent Vallerand finish to put the steelers (Capital S please) ahead. ...." Only 4 today. Poor show.

When you can't be bothered to list the other three NHL/AHL teams Kaut played for so you just put "and,": "Martin Kaut, who spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche and, put Dynamo ahead inside nine minutes," Honorable mention to this sentence as well when the game was tied: "Neither side could find the all-important next going in the middle period, and it took until the final ten minutes for Giants to turn things around" Ah yes, the "all-important next going" to break the deadlock, and is this the first reference to turning around a game that's currently tied? www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3385-giants-bow-out-of-chl-with-unbeaten-home-record

In the Elite League Scribe's defence, Giants were trailing by 1 at that point. They then got two all-important next goings in a minute to lead.
They've given the third goal to the wrong guy but you can't have everything.

Those all important next goings really are important with the CHL powerplay rules. However it seems they're continuing their trend in last weekend's match reports when they assigned players to the wrong teams. See below:

They've given the third goal to the wrong guy but you can't have everything. I'm not sure anyone credits it 100% to be sure but at least the CHL description is politely sparing the blushes rather than just talking cr*p. "Long made it 3-2 when he put the puck past Klouček to give his team their first lead of the night with Ben Lake notching his second assist of the campaign." - CHL description Which is mostly accurate but, very politely, decides to exclude the fact that Long's shot/pass wide was deflected... but by one of the opposition players who put it past his own NM. Which is understandable I guess. But if you watch the highlights... ... it's beyond me though how anyone could describe it as... "Greg Printz tied the game at the far post off an excellent Ara Nazarian pass across the crease, before Ciaran Long's shot was tipped by Ben Lake 43 seconds later at 50:47" -EIHL description What colour do they think Lake is wearing? Do they know what a tip is? Even if they don't see it comes of the opponent's skate it couldn't be a tip from that positioning. Though if they can't tell the teams apart maybe that would explain a lot of their reports? Did they even watch the game? Or just grab bits from Twitter? Even a quick glance at the highlights and you'd know you were writing *bleep*

“Miles Gendron was ejected for a Cross-Checking major, following by Kohei Sato taking a High-Sticking minor, forcing the Giants to kill off over two minutes of 5-on-3 time.”
Er, no. How on earth does taking a minor whilst already having a major on the scoreboard result in “over 2 minutes of 5 on 3 time”? Exactly 2 minutes, yes, but over 2? Were the refs not watching?

Which, fact fans, are called Weet-bix in Australia. Why they have an "a" missing, I do not know. I make it four wins on the trot. Including 2 vs Giants.

Does rolling with 5 'defenseman' count as parking the bus? "Peter Crinella drifted unmarked into the slot despite five Clan defenseman back, and fired high past Jake Kielly to opening the scoring at 5:34." Except, of course, *obviously* the Clan didn't have 5 defensemen on the ice at the time of the goal. It's not like logic would have told you that. But, if not, the game sheet sure would have... www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3467-flames-hit-clan-for-seven

Okay folks, take a deep breath and... "Only a Kielly blocker save prevented the Flames from going further ahead The Clan have the league's hottest powerplay and it took only 13 seconds to get to work with Mike Pelech jamming home a rebound from a smart Gary Haden shot with a little over 13 minutes played, but Steven McParland came back to haunt his former team by putting the Flames back two ahead at 15:21 after excellent work by Sam Talbot." Even you put on the missing fullstop after 'further ahead' that's quite the final sentence. Hands up anyone who could actually say it up without taking an extra breath or three? Can I buy some punctuation please? Pretty please? www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3467-flames-hit-clan-for-seven

Oh my...tonight's match report, where to begin... I guess at the beginning: "Dundee Stars climbed into second place in the Elite League table with a 3-1 win over Manchester Storm on Friday night." This would be the match report for Dundee's *4*-1 win over the Storm. Bear in mind that this opening sentence is immediately below the reaction video: which clearly shows the correct 4-1 graphic *and* the writer will go on to describe all *4* Stars goals 🤦🏾♀️ Though, perhaps, 'describe' is too strong a word: "his shot form the point" And again... "with a shot form that point as the puck popped out" "with Jake Elmer threading the pick through to Anthony Rinaldi" "Weninger was called to the bench with 1:40 to force a goal" "Heier couldn't keep the puck in the attacking zone allowing James Phelan for the empty netter" And the sad fact is these make more sense when extracted out from the paragraphs they are actually in. Five short paragraphs and every single one with a ridiculous sloppy spelling errors or missing words, or just getting the basic facts like the score wrong. Are they drunk by the time the game ends?? But it seems Maths remains an ongoing problem. On Wednesday we had: "the Blaze hit two goals inside as many minutes to suddenly make it a one-goal game. Nathan Ripley fired home from the slot at 51:28 to get his side on the board, with Aidan Spellacy then getting them back to within one at 53:41" So not two goals *inside two minutes* then but two goals inside three minutes www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3468-devils-survive-late-blaze-fightback

Okay, tonight's offering is just wow. This is one paragraph from the match report. Try and keep up. It seems there was some kind of temporal distortion creating time ripples through period one... "Luke Lynch opened the scoring with 4:15 played in front of a near sell-out crowd. Eight minutes later, Clan doubled their lead thanks to a nice change of speed from Darien Craighead creating the room for him to fire high past Evan Weninger. Lynch rang a shot off the opened the scoring with 4:15 played in front of a near sell-out crowd. Eight minutes later, Clan doubled their lead thanks to a nice change of speed from Darien Craighead creating the room for him to fire high past Evan Weninger. Cam Critchlow pulled one back for Storm at 15:30 to make it a one-goal game again. Lynch crossbar as Clan came back up the ice on the very next shift, while Weninger denied Gary Haden a far-post tap-in shortly before the end of period buzzer sounded." My fave is the timing of the goal with "under 2 seconds left in the period." That's an accurate clock in Dundee?
