3-3, Ciampini with what appears a dodgy one.

Guessing tne Panthers ran out of steam in the third? No I wouldn’t say so. We looked more likely if anything. Welsh hit the post and had another chance he maybe should have scored. Calamity from Brassard for the winner though. Told Levin stay with his skater and then switched himself so they let the puck carrier through on goal unchallenged

Guessing tne Panthers ran out of steam in the third? Not really. The key incident was The Steelers 3rd Goal, it was initially ruled out for Goalie Interference, which it was, however after a coaches challenge and a very long review it was given. Fox was showing the goal on his tablet beforehand. I know that we have Panthers Glasses regarding Officiating, but after the calls and non calls against us, kinda feeling that we may have a point

Another reason to stay away. The lousy officiating.

I've only seen a video of the scoreboard replay (on the York's twitter feed), but appears there's plenty of Panthers defenceman (Ricci?) involved in that contact. Need a better quality replay though.
Could be a decent point if we can win tomorrow.

Unlucky tonight, close game and we pushed them all the way,had some great chances especially towards the end.
As has been said though an absolute calamity for the OT winner sadly.
Hammond seems to have stepped up his level the last few games.

Goals:
Something about that near post at the stage end. Keystone Cops for the winner I'm afraid.

It took a very long time for that review also would that decision have gone the Panthers way?

To be fair, Greenfield did make some really good saves near the end.
Wish more of our Defencemen will lay some hits.
Definitely need more players, if Ackerad is available, then definitely get him

A better all round performance from us compared to the last few weeks but overall I would still say we were poor. Jones kept us in it tonight and I think this solidifies his position as our number 1. I feel sorry for Levin on their winner because he’ll get criticised but it’s 100% Brassard’s fault

Watching it on our highlights you're probably right, there looks to be some contact before the defenceman gets involved. Certainly surprising he overruled his on ice call. Apparently before Fox called his review, there was some big delay while he checked it on his iPad and talked about it with the ref? Is that right? Sounds highly suspicious.

Is there a time limit on a coach asking for a review on a play, like on DRS in Cricket. It seemed to take a couple for Fox and Co.to decide it was worth challenging.

That passage of play in OT sums us up. Welsh has a clear chance all alone, he just needs to lift it over the pad and we win the game. They come the other way and Brassard, who was the one facing the man up, manages to lose him and let him saunter to the front of the net.
So disappointing

The 3rd goal was a complete farce and no way should be a goal having been waved off. THE CALL ON THE ICE!.
Fox shouldn't have been allowed a coaches review 5 minutes after it was waved off and a huge conference with the refs.
The refs then spent a fair amount of time looking at videos before giving it. If it was given on the ice then pethaps itd have been fair for it to stand, but it wasn't. Football, it has to be a clear to over turn. Cricket it has to be called for review within 10 seconds and even then has to be a clear error. To the point that 49% of the ballcan send the stumps cartwheeling but if the original decision was not out then it's not out. The same theory is supsoed to apply in hockey.
The Steelers player took himself in to the crease before Panthers players got involved. Then it was all a bit of a mess. What I am sure of though is that there is no way the officials could be certain theyd made a mistake the first time. If they were they wouldn't have watched replays so many times.

I agree, the review system is there for the refs to correct a decision if they have made a mistake however it’s not in place for them to make another subjective decision because if it’s taking a couple of minutes of just rewatching the same clip then it can’t be anything but subjective

Yes he was watching it and showing the Tablet to the refs. Whilst I did hear what was said, it did look like the refs were telling Fox the reasons as to why the goal was disallowed, then it was challenged.

Hammond seems to have stepped up his level the last few games. Hammond and Levin are quality. As was Welychka, shame he's gone but you can't blame him.

Jeeez
That was infuriating, a soft goal and dubious goal. Squealers Keeper had a good game.
Crap atmosphere as well until halfway through the second when the panthers showed some commitment.

Fox tried to do similar in Belfast last weekend, after a call went against him he was standing on the bench waving his tablet at the referees, they ignored him and he threw his tablet to the ground aggressively I was surprised he didn't get an abuse of official penalty, with every team now doing webcasts can we see more of these type of calls with assistant coaches now carrying tablets and reviewing every play.

And two deflected goals too so these things tend to even themselves out. “Puck luck” is the cringey hockey term they use I believe.

Thought Panthers responded well to the dodgy call and created good opportunities after that. Which highlighted our lack of a goal scorer, someone who is in the right place at the right time or is in space in case the puck comes his way. Jones did ok on his home debut although he won't be happy with the first goal. Good finish though from Vallerand.

Yes I think Jones had good evening really all things considering. Hopefully this will improve.
