After being away from 14 + Year (apart from the win in 2013 when i jumped on the bandwagon) it's interesting reading all the above. A trip to New York and few rangers games rekindled my love of the game basically. First game was back against the blaze and had zero expectations apart from watching hockey again. The game itself was fantastic 3-0 down and then pulled it back to win with a great game to come back and introduce new folk. Enjoyed it so went to the Belfast game, great start but the atmosphere was flat and it felt nothing had changed still (apart from overpriced and stupid return your beer cup policy). Panthers seem to have this magical ability to not give a dam about the game due to the entire apathy of the organisation and the zealotry of how the NIC is run. It seems nothing has change and if anything its got worse. A few familiar faces walking around but the NIC really is a prawn sandwich venue even more so now. Still have enough enthusiasm to get back into it and catch up on what's what, was even considering a season ticket for next year... That's not going to happen its not deserved (and where has the GOLD gone ? ) Oh well, pigs might fly and we may actually score at the weekend

To a certain degree, I agree. The major difference is in the word 'supporter'. From my perspective, the core of what I would call Panthers 'supporters' is diminishing at an alarming rate, and I include myself in that. I dont really know how to explain it, but, looking at the comments on the social media pages, I recognise less and less the names of people posting. The folks I know from past years seem to be smaller and smaller. Have they all come to the same conclusion that us 'older ones' have and drifted away? Black's ethics seems to be, doesn't matter who I wee wee off, there will be more to take their place, there are 360,000 people in Nottingham. How crap are we that this Saturday is a sell out and we are garbage? So long as the attendance keeps up why should things change? Excellent point .. if I was to turn up on Saturday (god forbid) I bet if I walked around the concourse they'd be a handful I'd know now.. go back 15-20 years and they'd be someone I knew every step. These 'new' fans don't see it as a sport. I've seen how they interact on social media after yet another loss..! It's sad how many people I knew at games 10-15 years ago who no longer attend,I barely know anyone at the arena now. I started sitting in my season ticket seat about 14 years ago and all but about 2 people sat near me have changed especially in the last 5 years. I don't think it's just lack of success but the game in general lacks the edge it once did,the games are a lot more stale and sterile which I think is a bigger reason older fans have moved away.

Well we went through a phase of cheap flights and going for a long weekend in europe to watch some games, once a month was the same as month of panthers fun times. Thanks BREXIT

Yeah agree, in the early years at the NIC we were never particularly good but there was always the rough stuff and the fair bit of scraps to entertain the crowd now you get neither it really is dull as dishwater.

While for many years the 'Panthers experience' has attracted replacement fans who aren't necessarily interested in how the team is performing, they just like the excitement, quite simply as stated above, it's not as exciting as it was. Even I agree with that, and I've been attending for nearly 40 years. Whereas other Arena organisations (Steelers/Giants) are relatively new and didn't have any fanbase to call on. So their marketing, pricing etc is aimed much more aggressively at a demographic. And for them it seems to be working. Panthers seem to be trying to catch up, and while GM was in charge he was very active, their currently seems very little Panthers exposure

Some of us actually love the sports side. Sheffield and Belfast are filling arenas with good team’s winning more than they lose. The only entertainment I need is to watch a competitive team and I’m getting plenty of that watching Belfast and Guildford and sitting for two hours plus at the NIC is just not cutting it anymore for me and I don’t think I’m a typical Nottingham fan. Supporting a poor team just making the owner money is not for me anymore.

There is only one thing for it tonight. Start drinking mid afternoon, cheer on the team yo play for all we usually have in these games at this time of year, hindering their title challenge. If its a loss then meh. Past really caring some time ago.

Lineups out on the league website, Jones starts in goal, Ricci playing on defence. Can’t say our forward lines fill me with hope

Welychka gave me some hope. I’m looking at the 10 forwards we’ve got listed, asking myself who’s going to lead the way. The fans will be behind them today, they’ve got to use that and step up

Possible chant for this one...? 'We lose every week, We lose every week, You’re nothing special, We lose every week!' linkCan we be a bit more positive? If we're winning we can swap "you're nothing special" for "how bad must you be"!

Good points, we scored. That's it.
Bad points, they got in behind the defence twice and punished us twice. They are faster and more skilled. Incredibly frustrating the seeming gap in quality between teams.

Wonder if Two-point Tony's scheduled next week's meeting yet?

So a Steeler can bump into our Goalie and that was never a Tripping Call on Summers

Needs to be conclusive to overturn on ice decision. Look at it forever to change their mind. After the tripping call in the 2nd its hard to see their neautrality
