Not looking forward to this one. No, but it's a one game weekend and we now have 7 free days to prepare for it. Sheffield play tomorrow and Thursday night. No excuses.

No bigger opportunity than this for GG and the current team

Would love to be optimistic but i expect a spanking by the Steelers if tonights performance is anything to go by. There needs to be some serious work in training sessions this week!

One of those results that come out of nowhere. Panthers to win with a gritty performance.
Not that'll be there. Promised myself I wont pay for CC group games any more.

My Grapes are aching. Pains me to say it but . . . Panthers 2 : Steelers 5. after the Coventry game I’d be impressed if we kept it to 5-2. Hope they get put through it in training this week and it makes a difference. Would be a real shame if players already aren’t playing for the coach like has been rumoured.

I don’t buy it, not this early. This game is a pivotal one at such an early point in the season and in the grand scheme of things it’s meaningless. We need to see a performance with the right levels of desire and commitment as a minimum

Since the 'Elite Series' Cup win we have played Sheffield 14 times. Won 4 lost 10. As things stand then a goal fest and a 4-10 lost might as well be a bookies bet.

Caruso out of this game and the next 3/4 weeks it seems, real shame! Hope Puffer and Sorensen are back.

What a sick note he is! If they are serious they need cover bringing in. The defence is leaky enough with him in it

Unless he's just enormously unlucky, presumably this was a case of returning from injury too soon last weekend.
3-4 weeks could be 7 more games though, I agree with Pidge that they should be looking for an injury replacement, I presume we still have that system in place this year?

I know which stats I’d rather have. Indeed. If I remember correctly, up until a couple of years ago I think they’d played each other in about 250 EIHL games and the Steelers had won about 140 with the Panthers about 100 and there were around 10 draws.

Imagine playing 250 games against one team in only 20 years 🤦 It’d be interesting to see how the number of Sheffield games per season breaks down. Over the last 10 seasons I’d bet we’ve played them at least 100 times. The cup format is certainly not helping but I think we’re at a point now where games against Sheffield are unlikely to sell out anymore. Have a look at the ticket sales for this game on the arena website. The league has to alter the farcical cup format next season though

The competition is a joke and just proves it's only a money making scheme at best. On the pre season thing that's totally dull and boring as well.. used to love seeing the Euro teams come over as it was refreshing to see different styles.
