For a sham, unlevel playing field or disadvantage to Panthers on the Brits we seem to be doing rather well now... Weird that.
Also, Whistle over Bowns for the future, definitely. Always said the latter was overrated.

He's far from over rated . I've lost count the amount of times Bowns has kept Cardiff and GB in games. Irrespective of form I don't like the prospect of Whistle facing the Russians in a few weeks .. Bowns when on form is better than most import goalies .
Bowns may have played behind some solid defences at domestic level but doesn't take away his quality at all.
He'll get game 1 of the finals

As we won so easily we can take a light hearted view of some of the shocking misses over the 2 legs. It's almost like we have a competition for the worst miss. I thought Boivin clearing the shot in the crease was bad, then Dineen missed the open goal on the PP in the first. Finally Domingues miss in the 3rd. That was pretty impressive to miss from there. 😂

He'll get game 1 of the finals I agree that leading up to the last WC and including those games Bowns was undoubtedly worthy of the plaudits he received. Would it be fair to say that he's not regained that form since his injury picked up at Graz, and that in the absence of a similar 'star' keeper, he and Whistle are probably neck and neck for the starting position.

I think they are neck and neck, but perhaps Bowns pips it on previous international experience. I think they will likely split the starts this time around. It does beg the question of can we start Whistle next year? Thing is hasn't he previously said that he can't do every night like a traditional EIHL goalie is required to do? If so, is there another Brit goalie to share 1 game a week with? Worth a punt on Churchfield or Hedley to get that extra import outskater slot IMHO.

Steelers could be playing with 6 skaters and they would still win, Storm can’t be arsed, body language sucks. Tonight I wouldn’t pay them in washers.

Muse played the first leg too So he did I missed that, not watching but from penalties being dished out it looks like turning in to battle.

Quite a poor standard of hockey tonight, Manchester just never got going, I'm confident that Nottingham in current form would beat either team that showed up tonight.

I wouldn't write off the Steelers. I think they got their goals and then they didn't need to try. They'll be bringing their A game on Saturday for sure. Fingers crossed Wallace has his game plan ready and gets the boys to buy in.

Panthers & Steelers final for a change then. *Yawn*
At least a Finnerty team made a PO Semi-Final for once.

Strange performance from the Storm. Finnerty made a big point before the game that they needed to score quick but when the Steelers did instead the Storm just fell apart.

I'm definitely not writing them off for the finals, but I think Steelers will need to up their game from last nights performance to beat the in-form Panthers, I'm sure they're capable of doing that aswell.
You can only play whats infront of you and what was infront of them last night was falling apart.

The final looks well poised. The team of the tournament against the current form team of the tournament.
Did Kirk not play either semi?

Did Kirk not play either semi? No, he pulled out after the warm-up in both games and made way for Bálint Pákozdi
