Pop over to YouTube, tap in Storm hockey is back, Ryan Finnerty plus one other explaining how it’s going to hopefully work, 8 imports a 20 player bench, level playing field as far as wages are. Concerned. Good news for GB. It’s a very good listen and hopefully it comes off and benefits all concerned.

Ooooh, wouldn't it be lovely to see Matthew Myers back in a Panthers shirt? As good as it'll be to see hockey, im not considering it anything more than something to get our players ready for the worlds. Yes, it'll be the Panthers, but I won't be shouting from the rooftops if we win owt.

Panthers performance and the aquarium-like Sheffield plexiglass aside, I didn't think the 20-20 was too bad. It was interesting to see a new format being attempted and something like that would do well to fill the 'pre xmas event' that the B&H cup final used to fill. Anyways, back to the present, by my reckoning these are the unaffiliated GB players that will be eligible for drafting: Ben O'Connor Scott Conway Evan Mosey Matt Myers Steve Lee Mark Richardson Paul Swindlehurst Ben Bowns (if his season in the EBEL is done) Robert Farmer Liam Kirk Ben Davies Depending on the rules they've set out there might be some others out there - I've just gone with 'club not participating', 'released' or 'playing overseas' here Mosey doesn’t count as a Brit, he’s an import.

But I could have waited till September, rather the organisers concentrate on getting the whole Cup, League, Play-off programme prepped. That should be enough to concentrate on.

Is that right, no wonder I can't keep up with things. Only see him mentioned as a Brit on youtube and with his place in the GB national side seems confusing.

My understanding was that for this competition they were classing Brits as anyone eligible for the GB squad, rather than by normal EIHL parameters. That’s my perception of the rules, happy to be told otherwise however?

Personally I hope that us stats men can get the GRS detail of thee games. On the Elite site would be the best option I guess as before. I have all Nottingham's player details since inception in 1946. That's domestic play of Cup, League and Play-offs (not challenge games) and European entry. Would want to continue with this obviously.

Yes it'll great to see Myers back in a Panthers Shirt, however if a unprotected Brit has to join on loan to a rival team, would his heart be in it if he knows he's coming back to his original team?
While it's great, we have positive progress however I'm with you regarding I have no real interest on watching on my Laptop. I have dodgy reception and don't want buffering most of the time. But I'll watch highlights if they appear.
In a way it's a shame that we can't have fans as it's the matchday experience I enjoy as well, it's not the same cheering and shouting from home, I just can't get into it.
I'm guessing Freesports aren't involved.
The Panther fans are still owed games from the last Season Ticket, I DO NOT WANT THOSE OWED GAMES TO BE WEBCASTS.
I'm definitely not against this but it's not my thing.

Tbh I’ve not seen anything about dual-nationals being included in the Brit contingent, so I’m making an assumption that they will be classed as imports like normal. Have the league issued any information on this?

Just listened back and I interpreted it from GM the GMs interview with Neil Black where GM says that the rosters are split between ‘Great Britain Players’ and imports. Just my interpretation rather than saying ‘Brits’ he said Great Britain players...

Have the league issued any information on this? Only seen the websites that claim to let us in on more information soon. To follow is the term I think. I’ve just done a bit of searching and I’ve found the following interview with Tony Smith (not sure why the league haven’t carried it out): www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p098kh3kHe’s asked if the dual-nationals will count towards the Brit quota and he states ‘no, dual-nationals will still be considered under the Elite League rules as they are now, but we’ll still get them in’. But he does immediately go on to talk about the draft by stating ‘we’re going to have a draft for the GB players and the British players’ so he’s sort of contradicting himself. Anyway, I’m sure it will all become clear in the next few days!

They’re cleared it up...dual nationals won’t count towards an import limit if they’re on the GB long list.

The Star are suggesting Kirk will be protected by Steelers (not sure how TBH) but I do like the idea if he's available to snatch him 2nd (assuming Storm pick Bowns first) to stop his Steelers homecoming!

How can he be protected ? He's under contract next season with Peterborough. He's eligible for drafting here
