Reddox is signing for Belfast tomorrow. Well if that’s true.... So looking at Cardiff,Belfast and Sheffield’s rosters is there anybody who still thinks Panthers aren’t taking the pee with this years squad.. 🤬 For goodness sake, give the constant Panthers bashing a rest, at least until the season is well underway! You come across more as a Steeler anyway and I’m sure I’m not the only person who is sick to the back teeth of this constant negativity

Panthers have tried the spend big approach, big CV's, big experience.. it didn't work for us. We all called for change, we've got it and it's pretty drastic. We know nothing about how we will match up to the other top 3 and the rest of the league in general. We can guess but do no more. We might gel like a team whose played together for 10 years, or we might not, we don't know. We need to give it chance, otherwise all of our whinging has been pointless (mostly is anyway).
Come back in late November for any potentially justified complaints.

We haven’t got a full team signed yet and not seen them hit the ice. Why not give them a chance first?

Im sorry but imho they haven't at all, another couple of signings this week in Belfast again both with extensive AHL and higher experience...I cant remember a season even the one we won were we had all the players with such high profile signings.. Yes it doesn't guarantee success but it clearly shows spending because like most things in life if you want the best you have to pay for it very rarely do you pay the price of skoda and get rolls Royce... Our wait and see signings may we turn out to be studs but this will be more luck than judgement whereas a team of ex AHL players are more likely to be the studs you are looking for...

It’s just as valid as the blind faith person who thinks every signing is fabulous. If there was no negativity Black would think everything was fine and there would have been no change.

I think two words sum up this years roster, Weak and Cheap.
I honestly can’t see any of our players making it onto the top two lines of either the Devils, Giants and Steelers this year.
According to the latest press release from the Panthers our DOH and Coach expect to win something this year. I’m not sure what they intend to win but maybe it’s lottery as I can’t see us getting close to winning a trophy.

Well, yes, your opinion is as good as anyone's but neither does that mean the other is wrong. By "good enough" I assume you mean "league winning"? To say that at this stage, long before a puck is dropped in anger, is of course laughable, but I guess you do so because you like "being right". Anything that results in Panthers not winning the league this coming season means you were "right", eh? Good for you, if that's what gets you through the night. Whether the players from any team are ex College, NHL, EBEL, KHL or ECHL, the one thing they all have in common is that they have signed in the EIHL this year. They are all thus happy at that level, at this stage in their career. They may be upwardly or downwardly mobile, but they're all here. Even St Pierre and Rau. I don't see anyone on here saying that every signing is "fabulous". This year's team so far is, by consensus on here, very much a "wait and see" one. It could indeed be poor. It could be great. There hasn't yet been a "blockbuster" signing, but even that doesn't guarantee success. Good CVs and hype don't guarantee a player who will score for fun. Witness virtually all Panthers's prior "ex NHL" signings. Corey Pecker was touted as the "best player in NLB" when Steelers got him. Didn't last long. Your almost endless negativity is getting more than tedious. Especially as you, by your own admission, rarely ever attend matches. Doesn't mean you can't have an opinion, but, frankly, does make it less valid compared to someone who goes more often, parts with more money, is more invested etc. Shouting from row Z of a webcast isn't comparable to actually being in the arena, feeling the emotion live. And if you really this year's changes are as a result of what goes on on here...

They may not be. But then they might just. It’s a whole new team with completely new coaching set up. They should be given the chance to prove themselves rather than being written off by keyboard warriors before they even set foot in the country. Don’t get me wrong if they don’t deliver to the required standard I’ll be the first to give my opinion but going through this constant bile is annoying as .....

We could match the likes of Cardiff, Belfast & this season's Sheffield but we won't while the BB's are in charge. They have their margin to take & they take it.
It's a shame that we aren't competitive right now I agree but I'm actually looking forward to these superior players/squads coming to Nottingham to see how they play.

It is likely to be the easiest way back into the CHL as I can’t see us getting there by winning the league when you compare what we have to Giants, Steelers and Devils

I’m not sure I see these views as negative at all. This is the most ‘potentially’ embarrassing squad we have assembled since I started going. This is on the back of a zero trophy season and big signings by the only other teams that actually set up to win trophies. We have no top end players, which is why no one can pick the lines and we appear to have pocketed the Farmer/ Lee money. Fans are allowed to air their views even when they don’t endure the team week on week. It’s called frustration. Incoming funds must be the highest in the league but we are profit making- end of. The Sheffield rivalry is also irrelevant. Even when they have been terrible we can’t beat them. I love hockey but for the last 3 seasons I part with my cash 4-6 times a season because the kids love going, otherwise I would do what my fellow season ticket holder friends from the old barn do and just not come. To be honest the spectacle isn’t great, we have no players of the Craighead, Tess, Melancon, Fred Perlini, Durdle, Hadden, Ling level any more and there are no fights. The owner is taking you all for a ride. ... That’s just my opinion. I welcome the I told you so ripostes when we clear up, come April. 😆

This season will now all be about Wallace’s coaching ability because pound for pound & player for player, we are in a different league to Sheffield, Cardiff & Belfast.
To also add that we have employed someone specifically to recruit players.
From a poor season last year, we’ve pretty much (on paper) downgraded everyone who’s left and modelled ourselves on a Steelers roster from 2017.
Unfortunately when you see the names being picked up by Belfast this week (on top of already strong Steelers and Cardiff signings), there is only one positive you can draw out from this Panthers roster... Jackson Whistle is an above average backup.

I feel like they have signed a few good player just to compete like Connelly, Quist and Jakobs but players like Loiseau, Golovkovs, Malmquist and deustch are here for him to build a core like Cardiff did. I could be wrong obviously though. I think Lepine and Rheault were never apart of his plans but they're on 2 year deals and maybe he is just using this as a rebuilding/core building season. Wallace has said in a interview that he plans on having Malmquist for more than just this season.

Its quite ironic we now play Blaze on boxing day as they are what Panthers match up top now on and off the ice! ok Pidge fag packet maths 18 quid cheapest tickets x average 5500 = 9900 per game x 32 games at present without semi etc = £316800 (very much a very low estimate) Sponsorship - highest ever in the league bearing in mind GMB was throwing in several millions over 3 years so conversatively £1m per year bearing in mind we still have GMB plus all the rest (conservative imho half combined main team = £500,000) We have shirt sales plus auctions (each auction is worth around £20K x 3 per season plus each shirt sales "is it £80 per shirt now or more? think anecdotal evidence looking round the arena 500 shirts (again a low estimate imho) = £40K so total of £100K Each individual sponsor of players another almost £1000 per player 20 players = £20K Assorted other merchandise £10-15K Plus bunch of other miscellaneous stuff such as quiz nights and panthers beer etc... couldn't possibly guess what that makes Against this there is the housing costs/wages/car (although think they are sponsored too)/Gym (again sponsored)and cost of NIC rental which I have been informed is between 15-20K per event (being the incumbent host I suspect the 15) Wage bill for middle of the road ECHL players in America is $450 so equate that to pounds x 20 = £9K x 32 games = £288K + £480K rental = £768,000 Even if the remaining costs such as back room staff, housing etc are a QUARTER OF A MILLION pounds this leaves a WHOPPING almost 1 to 2 MILLION pounds profit not bad for a minority sport in a beer league is it.... For christs sake it wouldn't break the bank to EVERY year sign a team such as that in Belfast or Cardiff...or god forbid even one to beat them...

Have you got the players down as only getting paid for the home matches? If that's true it certainly would explain our away form
