Personally I’d sooner be sat in the old barn at LPS. Proper atmosphere, proper people. Unless Iggy lends you the keys to the DeLorean you're rather screwed on that front, so your option is sit in an aging arena, with old, too low plexi and 30-second-burst pixelated screen, or sit in the same arena with those features brought up to date.

It’s just a bloody scoreboard with adverts,I do wonder what on earth is the priority in Pantherland when people are more interested in a flipping jumbotron than the team on the ice. Who exactly is "more interested" in the scoreboard than the team? You do realise that it's possible for both club and fans to pay attention to both without detriment to either, don't you? - it's not an either/or situation... Any excuse for a moan, eh Iginla?

With the greatest respect Iginla isn’t far off the mark here. When you read through social media some of the responses to the board are extremely OTT. Yes Shaggy you are correct that both opinions can exist without the detriment to each other however I do not think this is a case of any excuse for a moan. Yes it is a great looking piece of kit ( now it’s complete) but at the initial stage when the arena released pictures of 4 black rectangles you’d think some of the posters had won the euromillions.

Have you not seen all the guff flying around about the new scoreboard, how awesome a couple of cardboard boxes were to start with, the quality of it now and how it’s unbelievably great and up there with the best around. People want the best and of course they should, but when it comes to players they’re happy with average mid range stuff. Get your priorities right if you want to be successful. Afraid I’d rather see a chalkboard show me the score and a lot more effort put into what’s on the ice than above it or off it,because a fancy new scoreboard wins you sod all trophies.

All this arena is doing is making it look more professional and entering into the 21st century lol. Plenty of teams around europe and north America have these and win sod all

Looks great, has great potential to improve the match night experience, but can we move on now to the all important final key signings we still need to make.
Also, I feel Panthers have missed a great PR opportunity to "thank" the fans for their involvement in funding the new scoreboard / screen.

Informative video, the jumbotron looks bigger than it did from previous photos. It also sounds like we are going to get a lot of content that people have been asking for

And the one at Sheffield was already 2nd hand when they got it too And the Cardiff one doesn't have corners lol Correct up until last season when corners were finally added. Congratulations everyone, really looking forward to seeing the kit in action next month.

According to Simms the scoreboard costs £450,000 Whilst its very impressive. That is relatively cheap in comparison to some you see in the nhl etc Daktronics produced the Jumbotron at little caesar's arena and that cost a eye watering $8m 😉😂

Does not load for me unfortunately Screenshot of the vid. The blue bit at the bottom has the words moving around. The other bits are still images on the screens anyway.

Just been told that there's been a problem with the scoreboard today... apparently a bolt has dropped off it, and the over-35s tournament taking place today is temporarily on hold!
Oops...

Have to say, was quite impressed with the visuals provided by the new scoreboard... the clarity is so far beyond the old one, it's hilarious. Pity the sound system hasn't quite kept pace, but hey ho. Overall - good bit of kit. One thing... we're going to have to get into the habit of looking up at the scoreboard after a goal or other event, to see the replays... that's not a reflex action yet, so I kept missing them!

Maybe this years (increased) facilities fee will be paying to upgrade the sound system.

Maybe this years (increased) facilities fee will be paying to upgrade the sound system. I agree, the video they shown preseason looked great but the sound was awful. Though they did mention Facebook they were looking at fixing it, so maybe that part was down to the arena team not the actual sound system. But yes, still think we need to upgrade that too.

Several speakers were not set up correctly or working correctly during that video, the engineers fixed it before Saturday. It's a difficult one for the arena, the sound system isn't that bad. It's just genuinely difficult to hear North American's speaking on a video, whilst there is music in the background, people clapping and making noise and players skating around etc.

I would have thought it’d be obvious, to maintain and improve the facility The NIC should be doing that themselves without charging the fans. Do Notts Forest or Notts CC charge a facility fee to upkeep the City Ground or Trent Bridge.
