Let's be honest. The new jumbotron.... If that's what it's being called is long overdue. Don't be mistaken though. It's not being done for the fans benefit. It's so they can get more money out of sponsors through 'better' ways of advertising....

Most jumbotrons (its what they are called not what it's being called) around the globe use them as a means of advertising. Should enhance the match night presentation

So now we have a legit videoboard and legal plexiglass ..
Now we need proper banners up in the rafters not some cheapo thing one end of the arena.

How much did Blacky chip in then? Ain't got the figures but it's pretty obvious 100% of the cost hasn't come from % of ticket sales lol and if anyone foots the cost it's the Motorpoint arena

Yes exactly, the arena. The same arena who put in place a facilities fee, specifically to pay for this, a couple of years ago. So nothing to do with the club.
I'm happy to give the arena some credit for it.
Oh, and there's nothing to say it's been paid for out right. Would be decidedly odd if it had been. Good job the facilities fee (increased) is still in place.

TBH Pidge as a relatively long term fan I have wanted this since the NIC was opened.. This cr@p that we cannot have banners because it is used for other events... it hasnt stopped far bigger arenas both abroad and in the UK from doing this and we should be proud of panthers heritage and show the world not some half @rsed banner at one end of the arena that is mostly covered in game time..

Approx 40 home games x all those facility fees over two years was it. That must stack up to a fair old amount.

Whatever argument the club/arena has against having individual banners for our retired numbers, and the titles we’ve won, is rubbish. They have to take the big banner down at the end of the arena so why can’t they instead spend time taking individual banners down? They could fix multiple banners to a handful of individual rails like they do in Sheffield and every other ice hockey rink. Make our ice hockey rink, feel like an ice hockey rink. Ultimately, it will come down to money.

Different when the arena want to test a fire drill or something though, bet they don’t do that at a Bryan Adams concert or at the boxing ! 🙄

The potential that screen has is unreal.
I just pray we use it to it’s full capacity. Use software from America and get an atmosphere buzzing in there!
Things like instant replays of goals or pre game entertainment with videos. Get the players doing Q and A’s or fact finding interviews.
Make it about the fans and it’ll be excellent. Ads are fine with things like this because it will be entertaining

Best jumbotron in the EIHL (maybe), now there's something to celebrate.
In your face every other teams 'fan' who posts on here, including that numpty Mardiff dude with 7 (seven) banned accounts.

The reaction to the first round of pictures was OTT for me however as the week as gone on it looks like a great bit of kit. Hopefully it will be used to it’s full capability.
