just had a look at the highlights of last nights game, you guys may not like these comments but anyway the fights in particular it doesn't look anywhere near a slash on when Garnett has the puck in his glove, I'm all for protecting your netminder but your d went over the top especially Olsen who threw a punch at the storm player from behind him? and Lepine had no chance of playing the puck when he steamrolled through the storm player because the puck wasn't there, so you can hardly be surprised the storm players came flying in as did panthers players How's the CHL campaign going?

How's the CHL campaign going? Better than that of any other British team this year... (but nowhere near as good as ours was last season With Rouen winning tonight, as it stands, the EIHL is dropping down the rankings to 12th place overall (higher only than the polish league). Unless Cardiff pick up at least 2 points in the remaining games, the EIHL will equal its worst ranking of 2015/16. While the Devils have competed hard and run teams close, tye harsh reality is they've not got the results the league needs if it ever wants to earn extra places.

Maybe we’d also lose all of our games and finish dead last. Maybe we’d win our group? No that’s never happening. Who knows though?

And I think that situation is likely to continue for a while yet. Quite frankly, we massively over-achieved in the CHL last year. It was great, it was absolutely fantastic in fact - but it was definitely at the upper end of the curve. A tough act to follow, and I'm not expecting any British team - including ourselves? - to even get close to that for a good few years yet. There's an awful lot more work needed to be done in this league before we could be truly considered as real competition for most of Europe. Unfortunately.

Saw this tweet today from Aaron Murphy, needless to say he’s had a few replies from panthers fans re our game against Bern.
To @cardiffdevils players, staff & fans - you can hold your heads high. I’ve been calling @championshockey now 5yrs, & last nights game v Bern was most complete effort by an @officialeihl team in the competition ever. Superb game of hockey
taking nothing away from Cardiff I still think our win would be up there somewhere especially coming back from 2-0 down

The EIHL doesn't have the "surprise" factor anymore thanks to our performances last season. Teams are coming in much better prepared.
The fact that some clowns on here think Cardiff are not doing well just proves what muppets you are.

Your second paragraph is a bit nonsensical though because no matter which way you dress it up losing 4 games is a perfectly justifiable reason for people to believe Cardiff are not doing well. It doesn’t make them muppets at all.

The fact that some clowns on here think Cardiff are not doing well just proves what muppets you are. 1 - Use of The Cage Forum is not compulsory. 2 - Unlike The Hotel California, you can both check-out and leave if you so wish. 3 - Alternative opinions are both available and equally valid as yours.

In fairness Cardiff done very well, yes we had a 100% record, played 4, losed 4, But my god we could have taken 3 games and didn’t disgrace ourselves in any of them. To lose the way we did against 2 excellent teams, was very uplifting for us fans. Cardiff’s team this season will be a handful for any team in this league.Write us off at your peril.

Literally no-one is writing you off though. At worst they are mocking the whole 4th biggest budget thing (which I think will run for a while) and saying the Devils despite their performances in the CHL have not got the results.

See the bigger picture. You're clearly the best team in the league imo & you should win the title again. No one here is writing you off at all to my knowledge, not even close. We're just having great fun at the expense of the '4th best budget' claim & your CHL league position. 'Write us off at your peril'.... Crikey.

And I think that's an appropriate place to simply say - let's leave the Cardiff thing alone now on this thread, and return to your regularly scheduled programme of chortling at Ryan 'Little Big Man' Finnerty and his chorus line of dancing apes...

How's the CHL campaign going? Better than that of any other British team this year... (but nowhere near as good as ours was last season ). Voth26... you may not like this reply, because you are speaking from near-total ignorance. The highlights only show a few bits of the game... they don't show the several other times that Manchester had a go at Garnett, they don't show all of the other rubbish that the Storm players were pulling throughout the game. Quite frankly - they got off lightly. And if you doubt me, I offer one piece of evidence - the head coach of the Manchester Storm is Ryan Finnerty. Just think about that for a minute... Great reply from a moderator!!! in response to your reply I can only see the highlights your organisation chooses to put up? ive no doubt that the storm are no angels far from it, any team under finnerty will always be one step away from chaos. it might do you and some of your users to look at other teams forums where expressing an opinion is not met with totally ignorant and childish replies, if you cant receive a polite difference of opinion reply from a moderator then that says it all really, ive always held the panthers fans on this forum in high regard clearly I was mistaken to do so as you are clearly giving the steelers forum a run for its money as the most unfriendly forum

I didn't intend any offence with the term "ignorance"... most people take it as an insult, when often it's not, mainly because they don't truly understand the meaning of the word. Dictionary definition - Ignorance (noun) - "lack of knowledge or information". You were in near-total ignorance of all the stuff that went on in our home game vs Manchester, simply because you didn't see it (and no club is going to include all of the incidents in a 'highlights' package). So you were drawing an inaccurate conclusion from insufficient data - that's all. Now I'll be happy to discuss it further by PM if you wish - your choice, I don't mind either way - but I think it best not to bore/annoy people with it any more, wouldn't you say?
