The Storm goal was at 00:20. Give your top line some credit 😉
Panthers have been the better team for most of that period though.

Great goal from storm tbf. But then an equally as good solo reply from Pither.
Little worried that with a little speed you can get round our D into a 1v1 situation regularly. Think that's just players getting used to the size of the ice.
Good game so far.

‘Roko Red’ according to the club, absolutely disgusting, they’ll do anything for sponsor money... To be fair it's quite obviously red when seen close-up, it's just the Arena lights wash it out a bit. It's the same reason those green jerseys that Panthers wore a few seasons back looked so awful in use. Personally I've always associated Roko with the darker burgundy colour that is both on their logo and all over their website. My comment was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek, tbf the ones we had last season with the darker red were nice.

Storm look good. I’d hoped they may tire in the second and third with only 16 men but for some reason we gave them the longest first period break ever known and they cane back totally refreshed.

Just scrappy. We're very much on top for most of the time, but just cant seem to create that clear cut chance. Passing not quite as crisp as last weekend.
Credit to Storm they are doing a good job of frustrating us and this is just asking for them to nick it.

Panthers probably the better side but thought we deserved a point. Some very disappointing refereeing in the third period.

Panthers probably the better side but thought we deserved a point. Some very disappointing refereeing in the third period. i thought u got of easy with the refs. Springer had some blatant fouls on our 5-3 for 2 mins. I think all of ur penalties were ridiculously obvious to call to such as ur guys hitting ours after whistles and blatant cross checking and slashing. I think we got the harsh reffing when Olsen got 2+2 for roughing. Imo it should have only been 2 mins and lepine got 2+2 but the player who clipped him when he went for the hit didn’t get anything? Going to be a intense game tomorrow!

Thought we were good for the two points. We really got some bad bounces in front of goal and their keeper had a great game. Could easily have had 5-6 goals on another night. Also I'll need to look at the highlights to see which Panther switched off at the start but that Storm goal was very nice.
Garnett looked solid again especially after the worst possible start to the game. Easy to let your head drop.
Entertaining game. Not expecting a complete performance at this stage of the season, just get the points on the board.
Also tonight about 2/3rds of the way up block 4 was the most disrespectful group of drunks I've ever seen at the NIC. I wish this kind of nonsense was policed properly by the arena, even when made aware of what was happening did precious little. Felt so sorry for families whose night was most definitely ruined. I love seeing a full arena but the pre-drinking nobs we can do without.

Well that was interesting. Wasn't aware of the changes in the rule book where 3rd man in & spearing in the back gets the receiving team 2+2's. Fascinating to witness.
Made hard work of that, Storm played a smart game. Their keeper was stellar, as was Garnett. They're a edgy team, guess in their coaches style. But fair play to them, certainly fun to watch a bit of aggro. Tomorrow could be very tasty.
Our powerplay was painful at times, but the kill was good on both sides. Onwards & upwards I suppose.
Clarke's number retirement was a bit uninspiring, the banner reveal a bit amateurish. Typical Panthers, almost. The banner is definitely smaller than the last one & not as clear from the top of block 11...!!
Also, how flaming long was the first period break, felt like 30 mins...!?
Kovacs MoM was a mystery, should have been Garnett.
Fox Factor - B minus.

That wasn’t pretty. However, Manchester did finish higher than us last season so it’s not like they are a pushover team.
Really impressed that we stuck to it considering other than Garnett, I don’t think anyone played that well at all!

Crap reffing as usual. How we ended up on the wrong end of both major penalty shouts is beyond me. Scrappy game, thought Storm defended well, just not quite as well as us in the end.

Panthers probably the better side but thought we deserved a point. Some very disappointing refereeing in the third period. I’m afraid I agree with others, not sure what game you were watching but I felt that we were the ones on the wrong side of the decisions! It wasn’t a walk in the park but to be fair, if anyone is turning up to any games now in the EIHL and expecting a training session and easy win then that’s just naivety. We will have to work for every point. And I think we did that. Thought there was a lot of bobbles and scrappy bits of play that always seemed to end up on the stick of a storm player. Garnett superb and kept us in that. I also think that Storm lost themselves that game with their discipline. They were doing great by frustrating us for so long but they stepped it up and the refs couldn’t do anything but call it. If they just held their discipline that would have gone to OT. Tough tough game tomorrow in a horrid rink.

And a few words from Clarke would have been nice. Shoehorned in and completely amaturish.

Storm are no pushovers so all in all that is a good victory. I have to say though they are a bunch of dirty, whinging, sods. I imagine tomorrow will be quite feisty, let’s hope it’s the start of a good rivalry.
Also, I hope the lad in block 4 is ok after taking that slap shot to the head, not nice to see. He did give a wave at the top of the steps so that’s a good sign, tough as nails!

Massive sense of relief when Kovacs stuffed in the winner. We were the better team but boy did Storm make us earn that.
They defended magnificently but as per a usual Finnerty team got mardy and ended up giving away stupid blatant penalties which eventually cost them.
Thought we were a bit sloppy with our passing and shooting tonight but hopefully this is the kind of game we can learn from.
Hope the person in block 4 was alright that looked nasty and I was sat at the opposite end of the arena.

Highly entertaining that was. Never say die attitude and the ability to stick up for each other. Goaltending was top drawer.
Storm are no pushover they are a tidy side.
We lost momentum on that 5 on 3 but hey ho .
