It had nothing to do with the trust, it has everything to do with the Panthers hiring Calum as social media manager. Mate, you might believe the timing was pure coincidence. I’m a bit more cynical than that. I can confirm that the job was advertised prior to the formation of the trust. A friend of a friend interviewed for the role and asked me for some info on the Panthers as they didn't have the foggiest idea about ice hockey. There were murmurs on here about taking fans taking action at the time so you deduce from that what you will but the job was created prior to (what would become the trusts) first meeting.

Fair enough then I stand corrected.

There were quite a few changes / improvements that coincided with the formation of the trust. Social media from the club certainly improved, the Q&A's started up again out of the blue.
Whether people think improvements are attributable to the Supporters Trust or not doesn't really matter. The important thing is that the club started to try a bit harder which was kind of the whole point.

Been thinking.
I think I’m going to kill off silversenior, and perhaps come back as someone else. Not to hide my identity or anything like that, but it might be that my posts are perceived to represent the trust as I was so involved in it, and that is definitely not the case.
In fact, I think that the idea of the trust has been lost in all of these discussions. It has been attributed a militant aspect that just isn’t justified. It was very much about providing the fans with an opportunity to engage with the club, like a supporters club, but a more professional, legally recognised entity. Thats all. No interference with on-ice decisions, no plan to oust Gary Moran, no plans to sack Corey, no plans to take over financially (although I think that’what the Panthers organisation thought, hence their hostile reaction.)
The trust did everything it could to appease the Panthers. It didn’t hit back with a counter action, it just changed it’s name and tried to re-engage.
I left the board because I couldn’t keep up with running the trust on a phone app! I kept losing the thread - no pun intended! I also thought that the advice we were receiving was stifling the trust. As I said earlier, I would have kept the Panther’s name, and be damned. We weren’t causing the club any loss of revenue, and there are lots of other organisations in England with the word “panther” in their company name. I also couldn’t see Black courting bad publicity at perhaps a national level by sueing his own supporters.
Anyway, I wish the trust well.
I think that my views were perhaps a bit too militant for the trust and weren’t perhaps the best face to present to the club, so I left the board. And now I shall leave this board!
‘Bye!

As somebody who read the forum for years but didn’t post until this week I never thought your posts were anything but fair and balanced, your comments well thought out and hardly extreme. I too would have took the stance the trust should have kept Panther in the name. I also don’t understand why folks ever thought the trust militant. If you have decided to leave perhaps it’s best to come back with another user name and just talk hockey. At least your honesty won’t be questioned that way.

No not motivated any more. Sorry. Fair enough. Apathy does rule the day at Panthers so you're in with the in crowd at least. Sorry Rob, apathy was the wrong word for me to use. If it didn't matter none of us would care but it does matter and the disappointment comes across as apathy.

I think that being militant is confused with being someone who cares. Care enough to travel all over the UK and Europe to care and every step that the trust originally set out to do is something that everyone involved was 100% behind.

Contacted the club and arena again today so will see what happens. If only for this reason to be in contact with the club wanting to watch the team you support after all that has gone on, it shows - for real - your a true (and pationate) supporter. It must hurt them that you care.

I think the ban is prejudiced, that's favouritism.

A few more terrible crowds like last night Rob and the ban will get lifted. They will be begging you to come back. 😀
Then I hope you tell the club what they can do with their tickets !

I’ve seen a few people say Rob should bite his tongue as it’s only a season ban but if I felt a burning sense of injustice I’d do the same. As soon as my name was cleared or the ban lifted I wouldn’t set foot into the arena until the present owners/management was gone. I’d go to away games and not put a penny in the pocket of Neil Black ever again.

2 weeks today since I wrote to and emailed the club. No reply unfortunately.
I have a call booked with my solicitor this afternoon so i'll let you know what the advice is and what happens next.
It does all feel rather personal now and to be honest it's all but killed my passion for the club. If it wasn't for my boy who keeps asking when we can go I don't think i'd bother again. Certainly not under the current ownership.

Utter garbage from the club. To not even answer/reply to communication. It's all about them be it Elite, UK hockey or clubs owners. be done with it Rob and spend your money elsewhere.
